Food was great, but service not so much! We were in town for a hockey tournament and decide to pop in for lunch. There was obviously a wait, which was fine, but the 4-5 employees standing around the hostess stand seemed more confused and interested in talking to each other than anything else. Once we were able to interrupt and put in our name, we would told it would be a 45 minute wait which was fine since we planned to check out a few nearby shops. We wandered back at the 45 minute mark and continued to wait while numerous tables sat empty waiting to be cleared with 4 employees just standing and chatting around the hostess area. Once we were seated, everything was just off - bringing out one drink at a time, multiple servers not communicating, food didn't come out all at once and then once we had food, we had to wait for silverware and napkins. Worst experience ever! Service was extremely slow. Walked in and sat at the bar (which was not very busy) took 15 minutes for the bartenders to acknowledge us even though they saw us sit down. This was a popular spot so I would recommend a reservation, but luckily bar seating was available when we went around 1PM on Sunday. The staff were attentive to provide menus and service, and we didn't feel forced to buy drinks despite being at the bar which was very nice. The food also came out quickly. The food was okay for the price and portion. I wouldn't go out of my way to come again, but I think it's a decent option if you are in the area. This is American food with a twist, and I think the twist was over promised. The cheddar scallion biscuits had great texture, but did not have much cheddar or scallion taste. The honey butter also didn't seem to mesh with the dish - it caused it to be too greasy with no added flavor. The breakfast tacos had flavorful side potatoes and tasty chicken tenders, although the sauce and syrup didn't seem to mesh well with the dish. Instead we opted for an order of the cheddar and scallion biscuits and crispy Thai shrimp as starters. For our main entree my hubby selected the Szechuan Noodles and I enjoyed a Crispy Chicken Salad. I made a small modification for my salad to add arugula, pecans and a pear vinaigrette instead of the buttermilk dressing and my salad was very tasty!! Our server I believe her name was Ericka was very attentive, checked on us multiple times, kept our drinks refilled and gave excellent service. The restaurant is located in a great spot with high foot traffic on the weekends and especially as the weather is warming up. I would definitely recommend making a reservation ahead of time for large parties but we were able to avoid the wait with a party of two. What a great find! We were driving around after a soccer tournament in Warrensville and stumbled on this place. After eating here, be sure to check out all of the other attractions- bars, a movie theater, shopping, coffee, ice cream, and more! Kitchen Social is a great restaurant. We came before the main dinner rush, so we had no wait time before we were seated. The hostess and waitress were very nice - especially the waitress, I should've written down here name. She was very helpful with menu suggestions. The cheddar and scallion biscuits dish is the most popular appetizer. I would definitely recommend giving them a try if you've never had them. The crispy thai shrimp is also a good dish. For the main dish, I had the crispy chicken platter with Mike's hot honey - very good! Next time I'm going to try the szechuan noodles. My son had the pimento burger and enjoyed it. Kitchen Social also has a kids menu with quite a few options to keep the little ones happy. We are very happy that we discovered Kitchen Social. We met our friends for dinner, who chose Kitchen Social. We had never been. In my research on Yelp, it was evident there were two camps - those who love it and those not so much. We are in the latter. In short, I compare them to Applebee's. They have a nice bar and good cocktails. The space is open, a bit loud, and busy - like Applebee's. BTW, we don't eat at Applebee's - old memories. Service - meh Our waiter was pleasant enough, but made no effort to make us feel welcome. Wine - meh Wine selection is limited, especially for a restaurant with such an expansive bar. The training in the presentation of wine was lacking. Our 1st choice (a Super Tuscan) was not available, so we ordered the Caymus Walking Foot. The waiter came back and tried to upsell us on a wine that wasn't even a blend (Caymus Anniversary Cab + almost 2X the price of what we ordered). The waiter did not offer for us to taste it - just opened and poured. Appetizers: Cheddar + Scallion Biscuits - meh We shared the famous biscuits. They came out almost immediately - obviously a big seller - made in bulk. They were okay, but not flaky (like a good biscuit should be) & somewhat greasy. Honey butter doesn't bring much to the dish other than more grease. Lobster Bisque - pretty tasty, but no chunks of lobster. Also, it would have been better if it came with crustini of some sort. It was okay, but I expected better for $9 a mug. Entrees: My wife had the Szechuan Noodles, and I tried the Teriyaki Ribeye Szechuan Noodles: The noodles were cooked properly, but the sauce was overly salty Teriyaki Ribeye: Roasted cauliflower, sweet potatoes, spinach. The steak was okay, but a bit overcooked. What was disappointing was the presentation - it looked like the kitchen "checked the boxes" to make sure all the veggies were there, but they were just haphazardly thrown on the plate. When I see a plate prepared with care, it gives me confidence that the chef/cook cared about what they were putting out. The veggies themselves were not cooked well nor seasoned properly. Summary: If you want a lively place for drinks, go for it. If you like an open, lively vibe and are okay with mediocre food & service, go for it. I ordered the Shrimp & Grits and thought they were good but my mom thought it was salty. I do wish my egg was a little more runny but they don't ask your preference.
