Two Words: BREAKFAST TACOS! We regret not visiting one more time before we traveled home to Sac, it was the best place we ate at for the whole weekend. I can not overstate how much my husband and I absolutely loved our visit. Staff was the sweetest, the millionaire bacon Bloody Mary was bomb. I would order the bacon itself if I lived nearby because I'll be having cravings. We usually get 2 different items on the menu and split with each other so we get to try a variety of food, but this time we both bet it all on the tacos and are so relieved we didn't have to share them lol a must-go! read more

I had the Millionaire's benedict, which had their divine Millionaire's bacon (thick cut, with brown sugar and cayenne pepper, sweet and spicy! ), tomatoes and asparagus topped with Meyer lemon hollandaise. This is a very popular breakfast hot spot! Locals line up and wait for this yumminess for however long it takes. Luckily for us our wait was only 10 minutes. I had a traditional breakfast; 2 eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, toast...it was "good." I think my eggs were a bit over cooked (see pic) and my hashbrowns were pressed flat and room temperature. FYI: I ordered a side of salsa for my hashbrowns and was charged $2.00. It's okay that I was charged, I guess salsa isn't considered a condiment anymore? Hubby had eggs benedict with asparagus, tomatoes, and bacon (see pic) His looked delicious! He literally licked his plate clean! The reason for four stars instead of five is for two reasons, 1) our waitress sort of disappeared after delivering our food. We were given our check by either the owner or manager. We sat at our table with our dirty dishes in front of us for way too long. Not ok. 2) I'd really love to see more menu items. This restaurant seems to really focus on eggs benedict done several different ways (not complaining about that) but it would be nice to see corned beef hash, omelets, huevos rancheros, etc.... WOW!!! From the food to the service this place exceeded all expectations. My boyfriend and I were on a little road trip and we happened to get hungry around the city of mill valley. I found kitchen sunnyside on Yelp and we just had to try it! I got the French-toast and my boyfriend got the breakfast tacos. I pride myself on being a breakfast person and by far this place was the best spot we eat that weekend long. The staff was beyond friendly and answered all our questions. It was raining that day like I said we were on the rode so we ate outside the established in our car, and they were nice enough to bring us extra napkins and utensils. What happened to this place?? It's been some time since I've been here but I always remember having the best quality of food. Today I had the eggs Benedict and it simply was not that good. Not for a $16.00 meal! The hollandaise sauce did not taste as delicious as it once was, the bacon was rather rubbery and the hash-browns were so bad they were inedible. It tasted as if they were frozen and then heated up. If I wanted fake food, I would make my lunch at home. First time in Mill Valley, and such a quaint place to eat nestled in the little downtown street! Found this place because of good reviews and ratings on Yelp! Though there place was busy for a Monday morning brunch, we were seated right away, served with beverages, and the food arrived within 15 or so of ordering. When you have something called Sunny Side Hash, it's the first item to read on the menu, and it's priced at $13... it's hard to NOT order it. I also had to get the millionaires bacon because where else can you order bacon for $7.50 and feel like a millionaire? Well, the hash was great. Solid portion and came with a tasty piece of bread. Eggs were cooked over medium, which is great because sometimes asking for over medium eggs doesn't mean over medium eggs are served... The bacon only made me feel like a millionaire in that it made me think "wow, I would only get this if I were a millionaire"... because $7.50 is a bit steep for two slices of thick cut bacon. Maybe I'm underestimating pork costs these days, regardless, the sweet and spicy maple glaze was delicious and worth eating. Just maybe not worth eating a second time. read more

Please note that my review does not reflect the food but more so the quality of service, which can be just as important. My bf and I were seated near the entrance and having coffee and mimosas when the manager approached us and asked if we would be willing to move tables to accommodate a party of 3 (our table and the empty table beside us would be merged together to accommodate the other party). I did say that this was terribly inconvenient as we would now be relocated closer to the kitchen and were in the middle of a conversation and had just placed our order. Additionally, there was lipstick residue on my bf's glass of water which indicated the dishes were poorly washed or he was given a dirty glass (I'd imagine by mistake). I'm obviously quite empathetic to those in the service industry but when you inconvenience a patron it's your duty to make sure you go above and beyond to make up for it. I mentioned that we were unhappy about this to both the manager and our very sweet server and was told they would comp me another mimosa. I did not want another mimosa. They instead took off the $3 charge of my bf's coffee. We can't help but wonder if perhaps we were the party that was asked to move because we weren't dressed to the 9s for breakfast the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Tip for management: when you ask a guest to move seats to accommodate another party, please realize that you are A) interrupting a conversation, B) being rude in that respect, C) insulting their importance/belittling them around other patrons. It's your duty to compensate them accordingly and comping a $3 cup of coffee to move them next to the kitchen is not good enough. We enjoyed the food here but the service will really make us think twice about returning and will ensure we share the experience with other locals we know to be patrons here. Overall, we like this place. The food is usually quite good, and the menu has a pretty good variety. We choose times to go when there's little to no wait, and we get served in a timely manner. When it's busier, the food can take a while, but not always. We like the interior decor too. It's a nice place. The little glitches we've experienced after about 10 total visits brings us to just give it three stars. The waitstaff can be pleasant or matter-of-fact, and some are just going through the motions. Some are nice. There can be very few smiles at times, but no one is gruff. There's one woman who is incredibly sweet and very thoughtful. It's quite a mixture of staff experiences. Another is kind of fun/sassy. One visit (about 6 weeks ago) two of us arrived 15 minutes before closing, and were clearly told they'd be closing soon and we had to order quickly. I would hope that any restaurant would allow people to be seated up until closing time, and then graciously accept a normal pace of ordering and dining (as long as we didn't take forever). We felt warned, not welcomed. So, we ordered very quickly, and then the server relaxed and was more pleasant. Does the kitchen staff scold her, or ? Why can't their schedule allow for servers not to be stressed and customers not to be rushed? I've worked in restaurants, and when the restaurant closes, the kitchen should remain open for some time, allowing for meals to be ordered, and even allowing for later add-ons or corrections. This visit, there was a mistake in my order, which I remedied by picking off the item that I'd asked to be excluded. I know these things happen, and they apologized, but it felt like the kitchen rushed through our order. The server said something like, "It's just what they're used to doing." The kitchen should be just as sharp with their last order of the day as they are with the first. We are also not a fan of any restaurant that puts up chairs on the tables for closing procedures/cleaning while anyone is still dining. They didn't do the tables right next to us though, but did do it for about half the restaurant. Twice I've ordered avocado toast, so I know it's not a fluke that it comes on regular, soft (barely toasted) store bought sandwich bread. The toppings were wonderful - a creative combination. Now, if only the "toast" was a nice rustic bread that's well-toasted. It would be a to-die-for menu item, but the thin soft sandwich bread doesn't work. I'm learning that what we order can have a big impact on our experience. Egg dishes tend to be quite good. The average sandwich is very good too. The staff can be quite friendly, but all of them need to be that way. I do recommend the place. They just need to rethink a few small things, imho. read more
