He said that he s driving for over two hours and I told him we were ~50 miles away I told him I could afford his diagnostic fee through the shell messager and that I did not expect him to not request this but that I do not carry that much cash and I offered him as much cash as I had to begin the job but they the rest he requested ($300+) would have to come from my care providers office and that I might not chose to negotiate any more with out them my handy capable condition has insisted that I might not be in full mental faculties to handle heated negotiations over money but that it is healthy to have interactions with business to get better I assured him that I worked give him 2 bags to take my machine but that I would like to have a buisness card or documentation that I had left him the machine with a little bit of an idea on the amont for his hours of labor. He told me how he was busy and that I could always just buy a new one out of a catalog it sounded like we were going to decide not to Continue working together despite my assurance several times to pay his diagnostic fee and any associated labor 115 for known problems and $125 for unknown I would have liked to have spoken on the phone before he had the need to make that trip saving us both time and anguish I will continue to look for other businesses to work with on this problem

One of the others (Tnt Mechanical) scheduled first, and arrived in a black pickup truck with no identifying information, no uniform or company logo shirt, no business card. The number of scammers in our neighborhood is on the rise so I said no thank you and asked him to leave. Then Bluestar called me to set up a time; when they arrived it was more as I expect from a trusted business: company van, company uniform, business card, etc. Ivan was very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. He found a coolant leak in my system within minutes, showed it bubbling through leak detector fluid, and wrote up an estimate to repair the leak plus recharge the coolant. With a discount for cash, it was a very reasonable price and I agreed. He went to work right away. About an hour later he'd finished and took me around to inspect what he'd done, explaining everything. This really helped me feel at ease with the quality of the work, and that nothing had been done that wasn't necessary. He even helped show me some things about my furnace that I had questions about, not related to the AC work. Ivan responded quickly, got us repaired quickly at a reasonable price, and left me with feelings of trust and satisfaction. Next time I have any problems with my furnace or AC, I'll know to call Bluestar first... a great experience.
