Lovely brunch spot. Mexican breakfast options as well as American breakfast options. Cute interior and adorable outdoor patio, nice staff and generous portions.

During our visit to Chicago, we were exploring the area in search of a quiet spot for breakfast. The vibe of the restaurant immediately drew us in, reminding me of my younger years with jukeboxes, records, and Pac-Man video games. We decided to try the Chicken Pesto Panini, which was absolutely delicious--easily one of the best paninis we've ever had. We also ordered one of my all-time favorite breakfast dishes: Avocado Toast with over-easy eggs. However, as you can see from the photo, I received scrambled eggs instead. The dish was still tasty, but I was a bit disappointed by the mix-up. I chose not to request a correction, though. Both meals were generously portioned, and we'd definitely consider coming back if we're in the area again.

Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow... Along With My Patience Imagine ordering a fruit salad and being served a side of someone's loose hair. Now imagine the manager reacting like this was just... normal? No apology, no urgency--just "Huh. Anyway." When I posted about it on Nextdoor (because, shockingly, most adults prefer hair-free food), the real entertainment began: locals insisting I should've "just picked it out" like some sort of culinary Marie Kondo. Newsflash: Basic hygiene shouldn't "spark joy"--it should be a given. If strangers defending a hair salad is this restaurant's target demographic, I'll gladly take my appetite elsewhere.

Stunning back patio, great brunch options. Breakfast tacos were 10/10, they kept the coffee flowing and the mint and lemon infused water for the table was a nice touch

Green eggs and ham

It's been 6 years since my last visit, and the price of the green eggs and ham has only gone up 1 dollar, thankfully. Nowadays, this is directly in line with the prices everywhere. Still delicious, still amazing service. Popped in on a Friday morning about 5 minutes after opening and was greeted and sat down right away. TVs going near the bar, very nice experience. Cozy and casual. Love this place still! Had the green eggs and ham again - they were delicious!

Coconut French Toast with Fruit

Years ago, I met a friend at Kitsch'n on Roscoe, and I liked it. Since I was in the area, I popped in for a quick breakfast before running morning errands. The coconut French toast was a hit. I liked that I could get my eggs scrambled with cream cheese. And the rosemary in the home fries added a very nice flavor. Service was as good as I recall from years ago. I think they may pack out by late morning through the afternoon. As the temperatures warm up, it is no doubt a guarantee that it will be a busy spot. They are worth it.

This was a cute little old-fashioned diner feel with good food that was served a little on the cold side. The staff was kind but busy. Coffee was refilled often and they let us chat and catch up without feeling rushed.

I really enjoyed my breakfast at Kitsch'n on Roscoe. We arrived on a Saturday morning and there wasn't a wait, which would be unheard of in other parts of the city! Another reason to love Roscoe. The service was pretty prompt and attentive. I had an iced coffee (pricey--I think it was $4?) and the pesto omelet. The pesto does not contain nuts. It was very tasty and my first experience with the pesto eggs trend! The hash browns were more crispy that I usually think of hash browns but they were really good. We also had the berry pancakes, which were pancakes with berries on top (not in the pancake which I prefer). The pancakes themselves had a really good vanilla flavor, not just the normal pancake taste. Parking was really easy on a side street a block west of the restaurant.

I think this place is super adorable. The artwork on the walls really brought the whole ambiance together. The service was quick and my server was really nice. I got the avocado toast with the rosemary hash browns. I'd rate the food a solid 4/5-- the eggs were perfect, it was a great amount of food for the price, and the textures were great! The only reason why it's not 5 stars is that I would've liked more rosemary flavor in the potatoes and no red onions (I'm more of a yellow onion gal); I felt like the whole sprigs of rosemary took away from it, and I would've enjoyed it more if the leaves were chopped up. Also for the avocado toast, I'll admit, I'm picky about them, but I would've loved to have more acid (I'm a sucker for pickled onions/radishes on my avocado toast). Of course, all the food opinions are just because I'm a picky eater, but this place is a must-go! The neighborhood is lovely, the music adds to the overall ambiance and this place has such a unique charm that I think is so magical.

Kitsch'n is one of my most favorite brunch places. It's not even near where I live but I'll drive out of my way to go. Kindest staff, bottomless coffee (and they're always offering and on top of refills) and the food is ‍ *chefs kiss* haha. Their rosemary hash browns are fresh, crunchy, hot and seem to be made fresh vs a frozen clump you might get from somewhere else. My favorites are the Two Deuces and a Jack and the Mac and Cheese. True diner vibes done right! They also have a patio in the back and front! Front patio is dog friendly!

BYOB. Hello! Who doesn't LOVE bringing your own bubbles?!? We sure did! Our short and sweet little walk over to Kitschn surprised us with no alcohol options during the winter. No problem! There is a gas station next door. Even better my friend lives close by so we were able to grab a bottle of champagne. What's even better, no fees for bringing your booze. You have the option doctor up your champagne or whatever you bring. The restaurant supplies the glasses and juice options. Pretty sweet deal. Post tiki party we needed some grease, but didn't want to go overboard. Whole360 options exist here! Oh, but I didn't order from this menu. I opted for the chilaquiles and my friend got the basil omelette with hash browns. Delicious! Cute little diner with a decent amount of seatings with tables and bar stools. Nothing fancy, but loved this little place!

All our pics are after partially eaten because we could not help ourselves. Everything was delicious. Staff was very kind and attentive. Oldies playing on the overhead speakers. And such cute voice mugs. This is a perfect little breakfast dinner with lots of Hispanic influence in the food and vibes. Definitely recommend as the perfect lunch stop that is walking distance from after visiting the rat hole.

The food was amazing. We got the "frychos" which were like loaded fries and it was the probably one of the most flavorful and fun vegan dishes I've ever had. Ofc we also had to get the vegan deep dish and it was also really good. Since we were the only ones there we chatted quite a bit with the bartender and he was super friendly. We ended up putting a movie on the bar tv and watching that while we ate. They also had boardgames and free pinball and we played battleship while waiting for our pizza. If you have the chance to check this place out, you definitely should!! The bartender said they were usually busier because it's also a concert venue, but it was a nice day so we think people were going places they could eat outside. But quiet or hoppin this place would be an 11/10! :)

I got a beer, Maplewood IPA, and vegan nachos with "beef". They were very wet, they also had mixed greens on top which were nice but weird. For my main meal I got a fried chicken sandwich which had tempeh as the protein. It was very thick and dense but tasty. It came with French fries. My partner got a sour beer, and a chicken parm sandwich with French fries. He reported his was also very thick / dense.

The chicken was delicious and the pancakes were out of this world. Similar to some of the other comments, it would be nice to first come in, sit down, get relax then have someone take your order when dining in. However you place your order at the front door and then can sit down. The customer service lacked tremendously from the youthful stuff(late teens/very early 20's) But I will say the most underwhelming thing about this experience was the building. Inside & out it was very primitive & just flat out old. I know they just moved from another location and looking to get their foot in the door. But hopefully a renovation is in the plans. The inside is a bit of an eye soar. Needless to say, I would come back if in the area because of the food. But I wouldn't go out of my way patronize them.

The rigatoni was ok in my opinion, I was mainly excited to taste the lemon breadcrumbs but I couldn't taste the lemon at all. Overall a nice casual pasta place with great service. The prices were very reasonable too.
