We recently used Kitty's Catering for the reception at my mother-in-laws Memorial Service. Kitty was always responsive to my communications and was even proactive in asking questions about what we wanted and what to ask the church for at the venue. The food setup was beautiful and very orderly for ~120 guests. Hiring Kitty to cater our event was the best decision that I made for the memorial service. I watched them set up the food and drink tables and during the event they even bussed the tables which I was not expecting. If I could write more than five stars, I would. I contacted Kitty after calling several caterers for my son's wedding on November 18th, which was about two weeks away. We were going to have an elegant barbecue and all pitch in since it was going to be all family but as most weddings go, there was a lot to accomplish still and I was getting a bit overwhelmed. I was overwhelmed because it wasn't as easy as I thought to find someone to put this together after deciding I needed extra assistance with the food and Kitty adapted to every detail. Once I spoke to Kitty, it was as though a ton of weight lifted and just speaking with her kept me confident that she was going to make this occasion as special as I intended it to be. Kitty is upbeat, very kind, on point, quick with responding, and she has a great personality while allowing me to make a change in the quantity and items. Kitty and her team put together the most beautiful spread of deliciousness while taking it all to Manhattan Beach. She barbecued burgers for us on the grill, served delicious appetizers of artichoke spinach dip. She made wonderful macaroni and cheese and the Caesar salad was delicious! We had a chocolate fountain with delicious treats. Kitty made two spectacular fruit trees, she served our water with infused mint and cucumber and all of it was absolutely phenomenal! Everything ran so smooth. Two servers catered to us with a serving tray as well. It was absolutely perfecto! As you know, the food and the atmosphere is a big part of the wedding. Super thankful that I chose such a kind, professional with a great personality that pulled this all together for me wonderfully! She also found me someone to get the tables and chairs and deliver them to me at a specific time while far away...And without a fee for delivery that would break the budget. I am a property manager in a 120 unit apartment complex in Huntington Beach and I host the get togethers at our barbecues. They are a big deal in our loving community. I recently attended a Memorial Service at Heritage-Dilday in Huntington Beach, CA. After the Service, there was an on-site reception for attendees. This gathering was catered by Kitty's Catering. As I am a lifelong musician (I sang at the Service) and have been in lots of situations where food was "brought in", I have to say that the spread laid out by Kitty's Catering was one of the finest looking and, perhaps most important, tastiest buffets I've ever enjoyed. i've been in nice hotels for Sunday Brunches and this compares favorably in almost every important way. I actually tried to take a walking video of the entire line of food to show my Wife, only to find when I got home that I had goofed up and somehow toggled "off" instead of "on". Two seconds of video instead of two minutes. Rookie mistake! I sought out and met Kitty to commend her, took her business card, and will enthusiastically recommend her. A somewhat irrelevant footnote for a general review (although it was quite important to me) is that I'm on a medically-supervised ketogenic diet these days, trying to kick my decades-long diabetes down the road. Although there was lots of tasty and tempting things I passed up, there was _plenty_ for me to enjoy and every bit was really, really good. No "deprivation" whatsoever on the generous table she laid out. In today's unfortunate climate of "usually underwhelmed by goods and/or services", this was a wonderful exception I hope to benefit from again. I was referred to Kitty's by a local mortuary. Attempting to plan my daughter's Celebration of Life, my friend reached out to Kitty. All she would tell me was, let's keep looking. Because of Kitty's reviews and the high recommendation from the mortuary I personally reached out to Kitty on a Saturday. At MIDNIGHT, my phone blows up and it's Kitty!! MIDNIGHT!!! Kitty is talking 100 mph I told her hang on, hang on, what's going on, it's MIDNIGHT! She starts asking what I want on the menu. Then proceeds to tell me she didn't realize what time it was. Hang on Kitty, you may not realize it's MIDNIGHT but you should realize it's well past 9 pm! Then kitty asked me again about the menu. Kitty sounded bizarre, couldn't string a sentence together and to be honest, I'm not so sure Kitty should be around sharp objects or hot food. I would bet good money Kitty has a "problem". In the morning I called my friend and she said she too picked up on a very bizarre Kitty. No focus, million miles an hour talking, side tracked and over all, frightening. Kitty, if you can't tell time when you make a call, you can't be trusted to show up to an event you are being paid for. I somehow belive forgetting to look at a clock is not the real problem. Kitty's Catering provided our catering for our reception. Normally before I go to a wedding I try to find the closest In-N-Out so that after I eat the typical wedding food at the reception (rubber chicken) I know where to go. Not so with Kitty's Catering, it was great! We started off with stuffed mushrooms which our guests consumed at an alarming rate. We also had chipotle/jalapeno sliders which were so amazing. Did I mention the appetizers were passed at no additional cost? We also had a great assortment of veggies and fruits and, of course, the amazing artichoke dip and crostini. On to the meal, we wanted to have the salad on the table and let people serve themselves. I hate being hungry and sitting at the last table to go to the buffet. This way people could eat and the salad and wouldn't take up room on the dinner plate/mix in with other foods. Since our reception site was literally on the coast, we thought that a menu consisting of surf-and-turf would be appropriate. We had Tri Tip (beautiful piece of steak for the non west coasters) which was carved by one of Kitty's servers (no additional charge for the cutting station) and shrimp in a wine sauce. I am picky about shrimp and only took two just in case....what a mistake they were delicious. I am actually getting hungry writing this. We also had steamed veggies which were cooked perfectly and a rice dish. Everyone raved about the food, more people had seconds than I have ever seen, and hopefully no one needed to go to the nearest In-N-Out afterwards. We went for tastings at other catering services and were left with a bad taste in our mouths...literally. Not only was Kitty's food better it was also cheaper. She was also able to adapt her menu to our wishes and was receptive to our changes. The catering tables were decorated simply, beautifully and tastefully, exactly what we wanted. Kitty's catering did a fantastic job at my wife's 40th birthday party. Kitty was very responsive to my wife's emails, made suggestions on what she should cater, and even gave her advice on where to order party supplies such as barware and furniture. Kitty worked with our budget and preferences, and exceeded our expectations. On the day of the event, Kitty and her team arrived right on time and immediately began setting up. Kitty even supplied table covers and napkins that matched our party theme, and arranged everything professionally. As for the food, it was amazing. After emailing Kitty initially with my range she asked what types of foods that I wanted to have and I told her that I was open for suggestions given that I am doing my wedding on a budget. After back and forth emailing and her saying that she would give me a quote but wants me to understand that most likely the pricing would change due to taxes and such and I told her I completely understood. So I am waiting for a quote for about two weeks and still no response so I email her to remind her that I am waiting on a quote. Kitty's Catering catered my daughter's wedding reception on July 8 at Cabrillo Marina Plaza in San Pedro. From our first contact, I felt comfortable and trusting of Kitty and her many talents. My daughter met Kitty at a bridal fair in Newport Beach, and knew immediately she wanted to have Kitty involved in our event. The set-up was perfect and beautiful, the food was absolutely delicious, the servers and clean-up were outstanding. Kitty's staff was on-time (in fact a little early) and were very accommodating as our schedule changed. Also, the price for her services was incredibly reasonable. She was also very helpful in offering suggestions, as we did not have a wedding coordinator and I (mother of the bride) had no idea where to even start. Kitty was quick to respond to e-mails and endless questions, yet was very patient when I had to make some unexpected trips out of town. We had hot artichoke dip on homemade bread, fruit kabobs, caprese salad on a skewer and hot filet mignon on skewers. These were all passed to our guests by Kitty's servers. For dinner we had chicken picata (absolutely wonderful!), carved tri-tip (delicious) and a pasta bar with 3 different sauces. We also had salad and rolls, and her servers help deliver the wedding cake that we brought. Kitty really took care of us, including saving some of the filet mignon skewers in the refrigerator for the bride and groom because she knew they really loved them. In a nutshell, the food was beautifully presented and delicious, the servers were friendly but professional, the setup and clean-up was flawless and the price was very reasonable.
