We ordered the Katsu Curry Chicken (you can choose chicken or pork), Donburi Katsu Chicken, Karaage chicken, side fries and shishito peppers. Everything we ordered was delicious. We had been seeing Kiyoshi's Katsu House pop up for a while, so we finally decided to give it a try. We came on a Wednesday afternoon and were seated right away with no wait. The waitress was friendly and took our order promptly. We started with the katsu takoyaki appetizer, which was a fun twist on the usual takoyaki. Shortly after, our miso soups and entrées arrived. We were pleasantly surprised by how generous the portions were and how thick the cuts of katsu came out. Everything looked great and tasted even better. We shared all the dishes and it was hard to pick a favorite. The donburi rice had great flavor and the curry was rich and satisfying. Even the leftovers we brought home held up well later in the day. It was my first time here I heard about it from my surgeon so Ofcourse I had to come in and check them out. It was a Wednesday night @5:15 pm the restaurant was not busy at all. We got seated looked at the menu which was 1 page for food and 1 page for drinks. Their drinks consists of alcohol and non alcoholic beverages. I ordered the katsu curry the meat was pork. What a hidden gem. This place was right by our house and I never knew it. I happened to see it while waiting for my prescription at Vons. I'm so glad I did. My wife is a Katsu fanatic. She LOVES her Katsu so we had to try this place. We actually went for our anniversary lunch. 15 years strong! The food was DELICIOUS. I had the curry Katsu and wifey had the chicken/shrimp combo. Everything was perfectly done. Nice and Krispy. Not oily at all. The curry wasn't sweet. It was a traditional Japanese curry. The service was fantastic. Pork cutlets were overly fatty and crispy. Staff are very nice, but I wouldn't recommend the restaurant based on the food quality and location. Kiyoshi’s Katsu House - Japanese Curry Near Me - Henderson, Nevada

This is a horror story... trope: back from the dead, but not quite the same. Kiyoshi's Katsu House by all accounts appears to be the revival of the beloved and deceased Tonkatsu Kiyoshi on Jones. They're now in Anthem in the prior location of Pancho's Vegan Tacos, which is two doors down from what's now Rebellion Pizza. They did not replicate everything though, and I got the impression that they could instead go by the name of Kiyoshi's Healthy Katsu. More on all that later. My check reads extremely on-brand for a katsu restaurant. We started with the Takoyaki Katsu ($8.00, 6 pc) out of sheer curiosity, and what we received indeed were curiosities. They're bigger than typical takoyaki, and perhaps that necessitated a cook time that made the batter seem starchier than typical takoyaki. The octopus piece in the middle then appears relatively small as well. It's certainly very crispy and there's plenty of sauces and shaved bonito, but it just feels really not like takoyaki. Perhaps if they'd gone with an 8-piece offering at a more typical takoyaki sizing, it would've been more familiar. The entrees are all served as a combo, but unlike at their former restaurant or the katsu-ya which filled their void, the items weren't presented all at once on a tray. Miso soup came out first, and I appreciated that it appears to be homemade and not some reconstituted stock miso. It also isn't as intense as miso soup can be. Then the rest of the items arrived piecemeal, with the last item being the plate of katsu, shredded cabbage, mustard, and sunemono (pickled cucumbers). I chose the Hire Katsu, aka pork tenderloin ($19.00); in a word, it's light. The breading is crispy but almost insubstantial, and the pork is very tender and even somehow airy. However, the combination appears to have very little salt. This shocked me in spite of the presence of a salt container at the table. I didn't add too much but still had to use it, which I don't think should be the standard. Also present tableside were olive oil, which seemed fairly bland to me, and a katsu sauce. The sauce tastes about how you'd expect, but they didn't offer us the old sesame add-on ritual. Y'know, the mortar and pestle one? I'm sure that that would've added a nice nuttiness. For the cabbage, they provided a yuzu vinaigrette. It was delicious, but I also couldn't help but notice that it's not the more ubiquitous sesame dressing. The mustard and the pickled cucumbers are fine. Last but not least, the rice moisture level was to my liking, not too wet or dry. The rice at their current competitor was overly moist for some reason. My friend's Tori Katsu, aka chicken thigh ($17), was very similar in breading and lightness of meat. It was on the bland side for being a thigh cut. Since it's chicken, I found it appropriate that it was priced lower than the pork. Shoutout to anyone who knows which of my old reviews I'm referencing! The dining area was pleasant and not too dim. They did bunch up everyone in the same side instead of using a more socially distanced seating algorithm, but everyone's conversation was quiet enough. The music was actually YouTube videos of Japanese music on the TV, including some '90s stuff, per my in-tune friend. Kiyoshi's Katsu House is a great spot for a light but still tasty katsu experience. If that sounds good to you or if you live in Henderson, then definitely check it out! I don't think they're the most flavorful katsu in town anymore, but I really hope that they stick around anyway. read more

Just know that the kitchen is now days behind in production, we are almost out of everything, and there's an asbestos-radon leak somewhere in the building that is getting worse by the hour. Our credit card system is about to crash so we'll only take cash and the only nearby ATM charges a $25 withdrawal fee and the last customers who used that particular ATM contracted instantaneous Super COVID. There is now apparently a heightened risk of solar flares and in a few hours and a giant asteroid that is predicted to impact Tonopah. Also, my wife's water just broke and I can't take her to the hospital until after you've ordered. But please, take your time." read more

Everyone is so kind and polite at Kiyoshi's Katsu House, this place is truly a hidden gem! Located in Anthem on Eastern and Anthem Village, you'll find them right next to Rebellion Pizza with ample parking. Inside is relaxing and peaceful with good music. Seating is limited to a few tables but there is room to dine-in at the bar. Menu offers a nice selection of tasty appetizers, teishoku, signature dishes, combinations, udon, various drinks like beer, wine, soft drinks, and premium sake. Gyoza (5 pieces, $8) is very good! The exterior has a fantastic katsu crunch and it's filled with flavorful chicken and pork. Tori Katsu & Ebi Fry ($20) is comforting and delicious! It's a combination of crispy chicken katsu and crispy shrimp katsu atop a fluffy shredded cabbage, served with lemon wedge and karashi which is Japanese spicy mustard. The meal comes with steamed rice, hot miso soup, and Tsukemono (Japanese pickles). Condiments also include sesame seeds, tonkatsu sauce, olive oil, and japanese sea salt. For chicken katsu, if you add a little sprinkle of japanese sea salt and a light drop of olive oil, this will enhance flavor and make it very delicious! Coffee Jelly ($6) is yummy! it's a coffee-flavored gelatin garnished with whipped cream and semi chocolate chips, so delightful! This dessert is not on the menu but can definitely be requested and it's only available for dine-in. Green Tea Ice Cream ($4) is also good, so nice, creamy, and not too sweet! Wonderful and friendly service from Brody and JC, they are remarkably polite and very kind, especially the owner Mark Kiyoshi and his wife Maria, so lovely and personable. With a small dining space, it does create a nice intimate setting to accommodate for a small group. Came by right before closing, we felt so bad but we were so hungry and was craving katsu! We came in and got greeted by the staff right away. Everyone was so nice and sweet. Always checking in, refilling waters and were just attentive. We got the katsu sando with the furikake fries as well as the wagyu katsu burge with curry seasoned fries. The katsu sando was amazing! Super delicious, thick piece of meat, with just the right amount of sauce and lettuce. Crispy, juicy, and savory! To compliment it were the furikake. They did not skimp out on the furikake! It tasted great as they also had a spicy mayo drizzled over it too! Nice umami flavors with crispy fries, can't go wrong. The wagyu katsu burger was really good too. Nice thick burger, juicy and wasn't dry at all. Definitely get filled with this burger. The fries were alright, the curry fries i think weren't as good as the furikake fries, but on their own, they did have that japanese curry flavor to them! One word....delicious. This place caught my husbands attention and I'm so glad it did. We were on the fence with the cheese curry fries, they're $11 versus the $5 for the curry fries but decided to take a chance and I'm so glad we did. The curry was so flavorful and the mozzarella was the perfect compliment to the flavor. The curry had the right amount of spices, it was rich in flavor without being overly heavy. In fact the curry was so amazing we ordered a side to mix on our rice. The dressing for the cabbage was insanely good, I wish they sold just that, I would buy bottles! We both ordered the Rosu Katsu, which was so good. The katsu was light, not leaving you with a stomachache from too heavy of a feeling from eating fried foods. The pork was juicy and tender. We also ordered the shrimp which was equally as tasty. My husband tried the spicy mustard and said it had a nice kick to it. The price of everything is on point for the quality and service. The service was really great and our server was kind and explained to us what this place about. We ordered curry cheese fries, a ebi and pork katsu combo, katsu takoyaki and a mini udon. The apps were fine, I guess. They're just frozen fries with curry and most likely, frozen takoyaki that had been breaded and fried. They were again, fine. The pork katsu was soggy...like sincerely, no crunch or crisp and the mini udon was almost offensive. For $5 it was a tiny soup bowl of udon and a simple broth. By biggest gripe was not that they charged about 3% as a credit card fee but their suggested tip below. Their suggested tip included tax and fees. I think that's so dishonest. Tucked away quietly in the Anthem area is Kiyoshi's Katsu House. Having just opened in late 2022, I'm really happy that we saw an advertisement for them. The location has plenty of parking. The building is clean and the interior is nicely decorated. The staff is very friendly and some are fluent in Japanese. The menu is small but we'll thought out. The food and service were both beyond our expectations! Service was prompt and attentive the entire time! The food was as good as it gets! The miso soup was one of the best I've had in any Japanese restaurant in the USA. I went with their Hire Katsu & Ebi Fry combination and couldn't be happier with the choice! For those who don't know Hire Katsu uses top quality pork - most places don't offer this. Seeing it on a menu shows the knowledge and expertise of the chef. What an amazing addition to the Anthem/Henderson area! Kiyoshi's specializes in Japanese Katsu with the owners hailing from Hawaii. Came in for dinner and restaurant was full to the brim. Inside was nice and clean. Service was super friendly and the owners came by and touched every table, making sure all diners were happy with their meals. We ordered the Spicy Ahi Poke $13 fresh and flavorful with a some spice. The Katsu Curry $19 came with an ample amount of curry and loved that it was on the side so it didn't make the tonkatsu soggy. The curry was a little salty for my personal preference and the tonkatsu was a little under seasoned and just a bit tough for me. The Ebi fry $21 was perfection with 3 pieces of jumbo shrimp. Been wanting to try this place for the longest time! Location is in a small strip mall at Anthem. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. Cute decor in front. Bar area is available if you want. I ordered the pork katsu curry. My brother had the katsu sando and his gf has the combination of chicken katsu and shrimp tempura. Servings were plenty generous. I didn't even finish my katsu curry. It was so good though because the batter wasn't heavy and it was seasoned well. Curry was delish..what I expected for Japanese curry. My brother and his gf also enjoyed their meals as well. This is such a hidden gem in Henderson! My family made a reservation for 12 people the same day, and they were able to accommodate all of us at 1PM on a Friday. The staff was so kind and patient with my entire family. We basically ordered everything on the menu and everyone's plates were cleaned. Not one person left anything on their plate LOL. My only complaint is that the portions are so little but this katsu was sooooo so bomb! I ordered the pork tenderloin. Only thing I wish they did differently was that they should also put the sando on the rack so it doesn't sit in its own juice and get soggy. I was contemplating on getting the takoyaki, but I didn't. Found this little gem on Yelp and so happy I did. This place is so simple yet delicious. It's definitely away from the strip and tucked away in a plaza I would of never guessed to check. The interior is so pretty and clean. The employees were super nice and checked up on us. I ordered the chicken katsu/ebi combo and added a side of curry. We also ordered the takoyaki. Omg! SO GOOD. Would definitely order it again. Everything was delicious! Only thing is I wish there was spicy levels to the curry, it would be nice to have some spicy curry. All the marks are hit for a dependable medium sized Japanese restaurant. Simple menu. Curry has a building warmth. The pickled red sides were palate pleasing. Their katsu is not oily. Very crispy. Batter stays on the chicken. There is some alcohol. Lots of sodas. Some desserts. The Japanese music videos is the marvelous touch separating it from other restaurants from Asia. Lots of parking. After reading via Yelp that the previous owners of Tonkatsu Kiyoshi opened up this spot, I told my hubby we must come here for lunch. We ordered the following: -Takoyaki balls - We like this version as there is a nice crisp on the outside. -Katsu Curry - I didn't realized that this order comes with the loin cut vs. the tenderloin. Why? Because the tenderloin would have been so much more tender vs. the chewy loin cut. Dang it! -Hire Katsu & Ebi Fry (Pork Cutlet with 2 pcs shrimp) - Hubby ordered this and again, wish I had ordered Hire instead of Rosu. We both agreed that the pork isn't as porky as Ton Ton, but overall, we still enjoyed the food here as it is so much closer to our home when we need a quick katsu fix. Another hidden gem! Really love the family vibe. Aside from their juicy and CRISPY pork katsu, they also serve takoyaki katsu, ebi katsu, spam sliders, and curry. Osaka-Hawaiian dishes, and menu is still growing. They've only been open for a month so really looking forward to some kushi katsu and their liquor license!
