Out of kindness (it's hard keeping a business afloat), I was going to give today's lunch 3 stars. Then I read my previous review, which was 3-star, and I realized that we received Lack of Attention and Service today, just as we did the last time we were there. Since the table service hasn't improved, I've gotta go with two stars. Hubby and I arrived around 1:00 PM on a Thursday and were seated immediately. Instead of reading the menu, Hubby asked if they offered a Vegetable Tempura and Shrimp Tempura. The waitress said they have both a dinner and an appetizer. We're so old now that we just can't eat much at any one sitting, so we ordered two Tempura appetizers which included two shrimp each, a large slice of eggplant, a sweet potato slice and an asparagus spear. I wish they'd served an onion rather than the eggplant. The inside of the eggplant was gray; it wasn't appealing -- and we do eat with our eyes first. I took a bite of the shrimp and didn't like it; I gave it to Hubby who ate it. (It had no flavor and, other than the tempura itself, no texture. It was mushy.) I later tried the other shrimp with the same result. I traded it for Hubby's sweet potato. The asparagus spear was scrawny and overcooked. I didn't care for the sauce; therefore, I wanted wasabi to mix with the soy sauce that was on the table. That never happened because no one ever came to check on us! Not once! The tempura was oily. I needed a second napkin and had to get up, go get it myself from a neighboring table because after a young man delivered our food, neither our waitress nor anyone else ever checked on us; not even once during the meal. Not once! No one asked us if we needed anything; no one visited our table for any reason, not once after the food was delivered. We finished eating and sat for a couple of minutes. No one came around with a check, so I went looking for our waitress in order to get the check. In summary: The food was disappointing. Specifically: the tempura was too oily; the eggplant was gross; the shrimp was flavorless and its texture was mush; and the asparagus spear was scrawny and overcooked. The service was worse because not once did anyone check on us! I had to go in search of both a second napkin and the check; and I went without wasabi. If you read my previous review, my issue then was the service. So, Lesson Learned. By me. Clearly, the wait staff ignore customer feedback about service. So this will be our last visit. Phenomenal as always! From Benjamin to Carlos to Jennifer all of the service was all top notch as always. Tonight we came in for teppanyaki and stopped at the bar where we met Benjamin who made the time fly while we waited to be seated. Our chef Carlos is one of the best teppanyaki chefs I have had in years and he had new schtick not the same ol same ol youve seen a 100 times. Then we went back to the bar for dessert and a night cap and Jennifer made a fine espresso martini. All in all my filet and scallop dinner was incredible and service was second to none. As I mentioned in my previous review, I come here every year with my family around my sister and I's birthday! This time, I actually came for three friends birthdays in January, and it was such a great time! We took up two hibachi grills and had a huge group. This by far was the largest group I've ever come with. It was SO much fun! We made a reservation and were able to take up an entire area of the hibachi. I got my typical chicken and shrimp and then of course I had to get a Cosmopolitan, as it's my usual when I come here! They allowed us to bring in a cake for our friends and even lit the candles for us and brought it out. It was so nice! They messed up a few of our orders simply because we did move around so it got very confusing for them. Again, no mistake on their part really, it was more us. And they were super nice about it. Definitely need to come here more often. I love hibachi and this is def one of my favorite places in Vegas to go for it! read more

Otherwise, there is traditional seating available where they don't cook in front of you. There is also a sushi bar. The food and service were excellent. The only reason for 4 stars is because the pricing is a bit high and the building could used some upgrades. While it was clean, the bathrooms looked old and grungy. The location could use some TLC. We had a good first time dining experience at this restaurant. We had a reservation for the "tatami" seating. In this area you take your shoes off and sit on cushions at a low table. There is an opening below the table to dangle your feet, so it's actually pretty comfortable. They have regular seating as well. Our server was initially fairly attentive but disappeared for a while and then reappeared toward the end of the meal. I had a lemon drop martini to start which was tasty. We tried some gyoza to start as well. These were tasty but seemed like frozen gyoza versus those made by hand in the restaurant. Overall not too bad. For an entree I had the pork teriyaki which comes with miso soup and assorted tempura (shrimp and vegetable). The pork was tasty and tender with a sauce that was flavorful without being too sweet or heavy. The soup was fairly good as well. The tempura was good but was a bit more oily than I like. They have an assortment of desserts as well. We tried the green tea fried ice cream. It had a lovely crispy coating, and the ice cream had a nice green free flavor. We were looking for a place to dine late at night in Henderson and this place came recommended on our online search. They have good selection of food items and they also have a late night menu for those who comes 10pm onwards. When we were seated, the staff was friendly and explained the food items available. She checked on us constantly and was attentive to our needs. We ordered several food items and I like their ramen. The noodles were good quality and the broth was amazing however, I just wish the meat and egg were better. We tried some sushi and tempuras and they were all to our liking. Yet another amazing Japanese spot here in Henderson! I've heard about Osaka several times in the past but have never been inside until now. Some former colleagues of mine also went here a few months ago and raved about how amazing their sushi was, so I was excited about what to expect from here. One thing I found unusual about this place was that they had an automatic sliding door at the entrance that you see at grocery stores and stuff, then another door inside separated between a hallway. And apparently, this place was featured on an episode of Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives starring Guy Fieri, which is one of my favorite shows out there. It wasn't too busy for a Friday night, surprisingly. We walked in and we were greeted by the host with live music performing in the background. As we were seated next to the sushi bar area, we were given a huge menu with so many food and drink items to choose from. Last time I had sushi, I ended up ordering two different sushi dishes and had to take one home with me. Lesson learned, I chose one sushi dish this time. We started off with an appetizer of Gyoza (10 pieces) for us to share. I ordered the Spicy Tuna Roll and my boyfriend ordered the Salmon Sake Nigiri and the Treasure Island Roll. The Gyoza was amazing and it paired well with the soy sauce. My boyfriend's Salmon Sake Nigiri came with a little extra something on the side - a wasabi snowman. I thought that was adorable and creative. The Nigiri and both the sushi rolls were delicious, although mine was super spicy, but pairing it with the soy sauce made it less spicier. Osaka Japanese Bistro is my secret weapon when guests visit. The Teppan bar has never failed me. The steak is tender and flavorful, vegetables just crisp, the Teppanyaki show that accompanies the dinner is a nice addition. Also, they will grill Chilean Sea Bass for the sea food lovers. Most of the sushi from the sushi bar is uneventful (IMHO) good, but not wild caught. The Teppan bar, however, is superb. They also have tables with excellent Japanese food. read more

Be ready for your server to degrade you based upon stating you can not have uni, will roll eyes at your spouse based on a simple request. Also, I forgot, expect to be greeted after sitting for seven minutes or more. Plus, timing of entree drop, drink delivery etc is not to par. My order arrive first, it was the most complex. The soup was warm. The second order didn't show up for another ten minutes. Quirky and a bit retro are the first things that come to mind. If you want a Japanese restaurant that suits every taste then Osaka is for you. The menu offers a wide variety of choices and everyone seems to love the sushi boats. We got to eat at the Tatami mats and they have a very strict "no shoe" policy for this area of the restaurant but rather than sitting at low tables we got to have an elevated booth but still had a nice tatami feel. Our server was energetic but a bit scattered. Started out very attentive but then we couldn't find him toward the end of the meal.
