[[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute tucked away sushi and ramen spot near Tysons.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They were very accommodating with our questionable party size. We ended up with 8 and they were able to accommodate. The food was pretty good. Staff did an amazing job accommodating our group. We ordered the aged dashi, chicken Karage as appetizers, and pork belly buns as appetizers. My favorite of them was the pork belly buns. They had pretty good flavor. Each appetizer came with 2 buns, so we ordered 3 so everyone could try. A friend and I ended up sharing rolls. We ordered the caterpillar, red light, dynomite roll, eel roll. All were good and highly suggest looking at what you want before hand because they have a lot of rolls and even some limited menu items (on a separate menu). I think the rolls were pretty good and I think the one I enjoyed most was the green light, red light roll. Nothing in particular stood too far out, I do really like eel in the dishes which surprising not a lot of specialty rolls included. I do wish they came by and told us again which rolls were which since they all came on the same platter. Definitely worth a stop. They also had ramen which a couple of people at the table ordered, so maybe I'll come back for that next time.

My friend and I stopped by Kizuna for dinner this past Friday after a friend recommended the ramen here. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is warm and vibrant with a modern Japanese interior.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The server gave us his recommendations and we got our ramens pretty quickly. TONKOTSU RAMEN - 15 Our server said he liked to tonkotsu over the shio, so I ended up going with this one. This one comes with two nicely charred pork chashu, garlic oil, ginger, beansprouts, scallions, and nori. Sadly, I do not think this comes with a ramen egg, so you'll have to pay extra if you want it. The broth was creamy and flavorful (I could definitely taste the richness of the fat) but not overly salty. The pork chashu was a bit dry, but good flavor overall. I loved the generous amount of scallions. The noodles (yellow egg noodles here) soaked up the broth well and and beansprouts provided a nice crunchy texture. It hit the spot, but nothing to write home about. Not the best ramen spot in the DMV, and the portion size is slightly smaller compared to other spots. I could definitely eat more, though. Also, no ramen egg comes with it, sad!

Delicious sushi, interesting authentic Japanese appetizers and staff. Would come back for the sushi, but skip the ramen. Go to Mauraman for ramen instead that's cheaper and more flavorful in my opinion. Don't believe the hype from the Washington Post for their special changsu ramen--not worth it. My wife found a hair on her sushi. The owner was very understanding; explained how the staff complained about hair nets because of the hot summer. But because of this, she's going to ask them to re-wear it. So the owner comped the shrimp sushi and gave us the Japanese ice cream sandwiches for free. I'd come back just for their delicious sushi. Also, one of the few places in the area with Japanese workers, versus Chinese or Koreans.

Family-owned ramen bar with fantastic sushi. They use fresh in-house clean-label bone broths and ramen that are amalgamated with just the right combination to tantalize both the traditional and modern Japanese and Western palates. I had the Kizuna ramen and it was delicious! Premium Aburi Chashu (high grade pork belly carved and rolled, marinated overnight, braised for over 7 hours, chilled, sliced, and then chargrilled to smoky, tender perfection), delightful ramen noodles that are perfectly cooked and textured, and your usual ramen accoutrements, topped with a perfectly cooked and sliced Ramen Egg (Ajitsuke Tamago). Jinya ramen really can't compare with this, in my opinion. if you get the chance to meet the owner Rock or his family members, be sure to ask them about the story of the restaurant. it's a warm combination of east meets west!

Great sushi for the price. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Atmosphere inside the restaurant is nice and white.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Staff is friendly and very fast. The buns for especially Good on the appetizer menu. Be cautious because spicy means SPICY for the specialty rolls . If you don't like heat, avoid any of the spicy sushi on the menu.

In the realm of casual elevated sushi and ramen places, Kizuna is one of my favorites. I've dined here countless times. Staff is welcoming and attentive, and food is usually served quickly. I almost always order the vegetable shio ramen - a creature of habit! The broth tastes homemade with fresh ingredients - hits the spot every time.

The sushi was a great price and absolutely delicious! It was also presented very nice and they had a lot of options. The owner came to a lot of the tables and was super sweet. Our waitress was also pretty fast, and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the music was really good![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Not a single lie told, btw just a great place.

The Chicken Shio ramen was yummy, and the chicken was cooked perfectly, and was not dry at all. The Smothered Tater Tots were very good too, I loved how the pork was prepared, it was very flavorful and paired well with the tots! The service was great, our waiter was very nice and even packed my leftover ramen up for me. They checked up on us several times, which was considerate. Fast and good food. Stopped by for a quick salad and sushi roll. Service was quick, brought out our waters right away. We ordered miso soup and seaweed salad, both appetizers came out quick and very tasty. We got tuna avocado sushi rolls and shrimp tempura sushi roll. They were delicious and very fresh. The brilliance of Kizuna is that they offer both SUSHI and RAMEN in the same place. My sushi folks don't eat ramen so we hadn't been able to go to ramen exclusive restaurants. Now I can have ramen while they have sushi. This is genius! Having said that, I didn't get ramen this time Lol. I was feeling sushi so let's rate their sushi. Their signature rolls were outstanding even though I don't understand why some sushi rolls are so huge to fit into one bite. I was surprised they had White Tuna nigiri. I always look for them in sushi restaurants. I'd rate the ones here 9/10 - not the best I've had but good. The salmon avocado hand roll was spot on 10/10. There are so many more items on their menu I want to come back for. The pickled ginger here is one of the best I've ever had. Perhaps, they made it from scratch. The kick it gave was unique, unlike other restaurants. The miso soup, however, was watered down and tasted off. I'd skip it next time. Kizuna managed to find a secluded building in the Tyson area. It's a great location with many parking spaces right in front. This is a busy area to have such a dedicated building and parking space. The layout and presentation inside also welcome you in. I especially love the ceiling full of dim light. The restaurant is split into two halves - one half has tables like any other restaurant and the other half is like a ramen bar. To top it all off, the waitress was attentive showing up at the right time to order and delivering food without long pauses in between. VERDICT: so many good options, and amazing lighting, coming back for more!

This place is a gem! Beautiful restaurant, I went for lunch with friends and it was quiet but lovely. The staff were very kind. I love that they have both sushi and ramen. The sushi was very good, I wish the spicy mayo was mixed into the spicy tuna instead of put on top, but otherwise the food was delicious. Vegan options are alright but not phenomenal. The shio ramen was divine! There's only one other place that has ramen this good that I've tried.

I've been to Kizuna a few times and have always introduced people here. Their Chashu is AMAZING (especially when well charred) it's delicious, sweet, and smokey. the noodles are bouncy, and chewy. Just what u look for in a ramen. I do wish their spicy was a little spicier but everything is great! This is also a place where the chicken has FLAVOR. I don't know if you've been to other ramen places and had their chicken but usually it's bland, as it's just been boiled. This one has a char grill taste to it! I haven't had any issues with their staff other than having to wait since it's busy. The restaurant is fairly small but honestly worth the wait. read more

We've been here a few times and it can be a hit or miss. We had the Kizuna ramen which was really good. Their signature rolls are also very good. The staff is super friendly. The restaurant is spacious with plenty of parking. We would come back again! read more

Excellent. Kizuna is our "go to" sushi and ramen spot in Northern Virgina. We've been at least twenty times in the four years we've been here. Delicious, made to order, sushi rolls, with fresh, top-tier ingredients. The salmon is top-notch, both the sashimi and nigiri. The pork and chicken Shio ramen are phenomenal, just the right amount "salty," and a perfect balance between well-seasoned broth and the noodles, not too soupy. The shrimp and vegetable tempura is our favorite starter, which is perfectly cooked, crisp exterior and moist shrimp/vegetables. Very respectable sake menu. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Kizuna can get busy on the weekends, but the roomy, modern Japanese settling always allows for a relaxed atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service is good, attentive without being overbearing, and I've never waited long for food, even on the weekends. The owner is very welcoming and greets every guest as she makes her rounds through the tables. A great spot for a celebration or a casual night out; Kizuna works for just about any occasion. read more

A family of eight visited Kizuna Japanese Restaurant, and the experience was extremely disappointing. The food didn't taste Japanese at all and lacked flavor. The restaurant serve low grade soy sauce and wasabi. The décor felt more like a a generic Chinese eatery, and the staff showed no basic greetings/courtesy. The Chinese chef behind the counter was talking over the food without a mask, looking unprofessional and sloppy. Honestly, the sushi and sashimi at Costco are much better. I left Kizuna feeling frustrated and upset. read more

4/5! Decided to try this place out with a friend for dinner as we were trying to branch out and see what other ramen spots have to offer around this area. I can say, I'm a fan of this ramen spot. The Food: I went with the Kizuna Ramen and some sushi. Which had a pork stock and three pieces of chashu. Also had to top it off with the spice bomb to give it a kick. The flavor of the pork broth was delicious and the chashu was melt in your mouth pull apart. Overall, a very delicious bowl of ramen that is well portioned. As for the spice bomb, it can get very spicy, so I'd recommend putting a little at a time in your bowl. The Service: The staff were friendly and the overall restaurant was very nice. There was plenty of seating during dinner and we were seated almost immediately. There's also a patio that is very nice and lit, but it was a little too cold for our liking. Orders got out in a timely manner as well. Overall, 4/5! Great ramen/sushi spot. read more

This is one of a few places everyone at work chooses for lunch. The restaurant does seem a bit tucked in the corner so it could easily be missed driving around Tysons. I got the Sushi 'Zu' that comes with 7 pieces of nigiri and 6 pieces of spicy tuna rolls. Both the nigiri and sushi were fresh and filling. The order also includes a side of miso soup or house salad, but I remember dining in used to include both in the past. I chose miso soup and it was in the smallest container ever. Other restaurants use those kind of containers for sauce not soup so I was unimpressed with their take out. When I dined in their service was quick, but for take out it is best to order ahead of time because it did take much longer. I had a slightly better experience dining in at the restaurant than ordering to go for lunch. read more

The ramen at this place was pretty bad but the sushi was good. Ive had ramen at places like Ippudo and Ichiran to compare to and their ramen is not even in the same category. I still give them three stars because overall the service was good and the sushi was good. read more

Located in a pretty obscure place, the inside is stunning, with a very traditional style. I had a pretty good experience here for my first time! This place is right next to my work but surprisingly my first time here. I always drove past it and always saw cars parked so why not? I checked reviews which weren't so great but decided to try it anyway. My boyfriend had the chicken teriyaki lunch box. The chicken was very dry. The sauce was a bit sour than sweet. The California rolls were fine- can't go wrong with that (I hope). The salad was also just mediocre. Overall a 3. This will suffice for just a quick lunch bite. I had the pork shio ramen which honestly was such a disappointment. The broth had either a bunch of black pepper flakes or visible burnt prices that may have fallen off of the pork meat. The flavor was also just bland. It lacked the richness and flavor of the meat and I found it interesting that they used chicken broth. Overall a 3 as well. The interior and service was subpar. They brought out one of the meals about 10 mins before the other. I had asked for an egg at the initial time of the ordering (which the server had repeated back to us so I know she heard me) but she failed to have it in my broth at the time of service. She had to take it back just for the egg. The smell of the restaurant had a very strong fish scent which I'm not quite used to even though it is a sushi restaurant. I have worked at a sushi restaurant for about 6 years so I know it's not common to have a place smelling like that but that was the least of our complaints. I don't think I will be returning for the reasons above but who knows.. maybe some of y'all will like this place better than I did. read more

Came in for late lunch on a Sunday, there was ample seating without a reservation! Food took a while to come out but was very good! They are flexible with the sushi moriawase if you want to exclude any certain kind of fish or shrimp which is nice. They have a lot of other items on the menu as well such as ramen and katsu curry. read more

Took our visiting friends here when they came to town recently. There is a beautiful patio space outside with a koi pond and hanging lights. Inside is well decorated and inviting as well. As far as food, I've ordered their ramen and sushi on different occasions and have been very content both times. Our waiter was very attentive when we dined-in earlier this week and always came to fill up our waters. I really enjoyed the namesake Kizuna roll. The waiter recommended it to me when I was between two sushi rolls. And I am so happy I went with his recommendation -- these servers really know their stuff! The restaurant may be difficult to find because it is a little tucked away, but it's well worth visiting! Make sure to come here for your next date night. read more

If you're looking for quality sushi and perfectly executed ramen- this is THE go to spot in the dmv. From the variety they offer in fish selection- to the diversity in the menu for any type of Japanese food craving you may have, they have it all. The food is out fairly quick for all the effort they pour into every dish. The ramen itself puts every other Japanese restaurant in the area to shame. As busy as it gets inside, the servers always remain attentive and polite. The interior makes this a perfect date spot that's cozy yet lively. Recently traveling and I found a Japanese restaurant on the way to my hotel. Kizuna is just off the path near Tysons corner. When we went in the restaurant was clean and had a consistent flow of diners and take out orders. We were seated almost immediately. The food was very good. My Japanese wife ordered the ramen. It was good, but not the best we've had. They karaage and it's dipping sauce were great and made for the perfect appetizer. I was delivered the wrong plate of sushi and I took a photo of that because it looked so nice. I let our waitress know that I was given the wrong order and she quickly remedied the situation and I had my order in front of me. Service was outstanding. We were seated seconds after entering. For a sushi place that was busy, they prepared the food quickly and everyone was pleasant. It was an enjoyable experience overall. There is plenty of parking on their private lot and a nice outside dining space as well. read more

The place is not on the main road. It was off to the side. The food was worth the price, and the server Ricky was very helpful and professional. The restaurant decor was calming and had a pleasant atmosphere. The garlic chicken wings were perfectly fried, I definitely will them order again next time along with the sushi. The Tonkotsu was filling but needed a little extra seasong. It was not the best I ever had, the noodles were cooked just right, and the meat was tender. I think if the soup was seasoned better, I would give the 5 stars. I would come back again and try additional items on their menu. read more

4 stars. On-site parking. Efficient service, albeit a wee bit slow given the # of patrons seated. Nice bathrooms with Japanese style sliding doors. Oh, and some tasty sushi. Best hamachi nigiri I've had in the area. Really generous portion and very creamy tasting yellowtail. The ebi was yummers too. Situated right off Leesburg Pike kinda in "the cut" such that you almost miss the sign if you aren't careful. Great l'il spot to grab a bite or meet a friend for drinks. Two thumbs up. read more

Kizuna is still a great takeout option for delicious shio ramen and sushi in the Tysons Corner area. Our family has come here to order takeout since late May 2020. My 15 year old son enjoys the shio ramen, which has a rich, tasty broth and lots of noodles. I like the chirashi sushi, which includes a selection of fresh sashimi placed on top of a bed of sweetened white rice. The only blemish from our late December experience was a longer than expected waiting time. For dinner orders, service can be slow as we waited 15 minutes after the scheduled pickup time. Kizuna has lots of DoorDash and Uber Eats drivers waiting in the parking lot. I noticed the restaurant was open for indoor dining as of late December 2020. read more

The fiancé and I were in the mood for some sushi and ramen and stopped at Kizuna as we were already in the area. We had great service! Food was delicious and great ambiance inside! Tried Kizuna for the first time last night because my friends were craving sushi. I got the house ramen (Kizuna Ramen) which comes with the egg and extra slice of pork. You get a decent amount of noodles and the broth is rich. The price is reasonable ($17) based on what I've seen in the area. My only critique is the pork chashu was a bit over cooked. You can tell the meat quality is not bad (marbled chashu with fat sandwiching the meat) but the texture was a bit more over cooked than my liking. Easy to find parking (free parking lot available). It was a bit busy on Fri night so reservations would be a good idea. My friends both got sushi and both thought the rolls were smaller than they thought. They ended both getting 2 full rolls for themselves. Just fyi. read more

My friend recommended that we go to this place so we went for dinner. This place is nicely decorated on the inside and is aesthetically pleasing to the eye. It is a bit tucked away near the Olive Garden at Tysons. I ordered the the takoyaki and the nabeyaki udon while my friend ordered the spicy tuna and shriml tempura rolls. The Takoyaki looked a bit over cooked when it came out but after trying the first one it was perfectly cooked and so flavorful. I thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend getting this if you come! The udon was underwhelming. There was no tempura sauce/udon flakes, the egg was slightly overcooked, and the broth had little to no flavor. When trying to ask if there was tempura sauce or udon flakes, staff was not very attentive. I also tried a bite of my friend's sushi and both lacked flavor. The spicy tuna had a spicy mayo droplet on top and it was a unique take on it but not what I expected. COVID review: all employees were masked and some of them were even double masked. Wonderful spot! I came here after shopping in the area with no reservation on a clearly busy evening. Host was kind and prompt, and was luckily able to cut the wait from 45min to hardly 10 with a table opening. Food was colorful and a good variety. I got the chashu bowl which was fresh and not too fishy. Their cocktails are unique and clever blends with popular flavors and japanese import liquors. Was misled by the high amount of positive reviews on Google last minute. Inappropriately staffed, extremely rude server, incapable manager, overpriced and mediocre food. We came here to celebrate a birthday and with a simple request of ordering drinks was greeted with hostile attitude from the server who literally gave us a dirty look and threw dishes in front of us. The manager explained this attitude as being short staffed and they had no other server on staff to replace him. When our appetizers came out it was sitting on the bar table for 10 minutes until I just went to bring them over myself. Half of our drinks were forgotten and some took asking 3 times. Had to go grab small plates and forks for kids myself. Never have I had to do this in a restaurant. Starting from sushi to ramen everything was just barely edible. My kid who usually likes ramen and miso soup absolutely hated them both. Chicken teriyaki failed her as well. The bill was so expensive more than I ever spent on a sushi restaurant and they still included a 20% gratuity for the self service and frustration. Our…read moreserver was very helpful in helping us decide what to get, and we thought we would try sashimi (after reading reviews about the place) as well as noodles. Fellow Yelpers did not steer us wrong! We ordered Otoro (fatty tuna) and sake belly (salmon belly) sashimi, listed as 3 pieces each. We also ordered tempura udon, a shrimp tempura roll*, takoyaki, and mentaiko butter udon (off the specials menu). Let me begin by saying the space is clean, roomy, and well-decorated. We enjoyed looking at the artwork and figurines, which included anime figures that we recognized. There were many tables, and though they may be physically close together, there is enough separation to be comfortable without being on top of each other or feeling cramped. There was a family of five that was seated next to us partway through the meal, and I never felt like the noise level changed or that we suddenly felt as if there were more people around. The takoyaki came out covered in bonito flakes. The sauce was a perfect blend of tempered spicy mayo as my adventurous eater enjoyed it without being overwhelmed by heat. The bites were well-sized as not to be too large, but we were able to bite in without burning our tongues our with the right balance of batter and octopus, and we both enjoyed it greatly. The sashimi came out with the shrimp tempura roll on a beautifully arranged boat - 4 pieces each! We each tried two pieces of otoro and sake belly, and the pieces just melted into our mouth. The otoro was garnished with what appeared to be hint of wasabi and maybe chopped jalapeño, which was too much for my adventurous eater to try, so I gently scraped it off. Neither of us were able to taste anything but the well-chosen slices of fatty tuna, which were a hit. We then tried the sake belly which were garnished with a sliver of fried garlic and garlic paste. Again, I scraped it off for the adventurous eater, who then raved about how delicious it was! I tried it with the garlic and agreed. The garlic was perfectly fried, and was the right amount not to overwhelm the delicate buttery texture and flavor of the salmon belly. Although, I will admit - while it's a nice flavor to add, the sashimi itself didn't need anything to be added. The tempura udon came out, with perfectly battered pieces - 2 shrimp, an asparagus, an onion ring, a slice of sweet potato, and a slice of eggplant. My adventurous eater attacked the shrimp while I munched on veggies. The batter was crispy, light, and not greasy. My mentaiko butter udon came out and I am so glad I ordered it! There was a little nest of noodles, with two halves of a soft-boiled egg, and plenty of creamy sauce. The menu described the dish as buttery and umami and it did not deceive. The udon was perfectly chewy and slurpable, coated with delicious creamy sauce. I debating mixing in the eggs because they looked so perfect, so I dipped one half in the sauce instead and ate that whole, before mixing in the other half into my bowl. Even my adventurous eater tried a little bit of my udon and agreed that it was delicious! Not having had mentaiko butter before, I looked it up before writing this review. The dish is described as being a spicy-fish roe butter sauce, but what we are talking about is a very mild heat. The dish was warming, tasty, and very comforting. It was also surprisingly light considering the buttery richness of the flavors. I finished every last bit of the noodles in my bowl and drank the rest of the sauce, with all the fish roe stirred in. I may have also commented a couple of times on how phenomenal the dish was. That was when our server shared that it was the first day it had been on the menu, so they were looking for feedback. I would say that the dish alone is worth checking out, but I feel like you will keep coming back due to the quality of everything else. I think this place is a gem and I will definitely look for excuses to return to Oakton to eat there again. Between the friendly service, the cheerful ambiance, and the amazing food, this is hitting all the right notes! * My adventurous eater filled up on everything else before even getting to the shrimp tempura roll, so we ended up packing up the rest of the udon and the shrimp tempura roll to bring home. Due to life, the roll never made it into the fridge, so we tragically had to toss it without trying it. I tried the A5 Miyazaki Wagyu Hot Stone and was surprised that they cook it for you instead of you cooking it yourself on the hot stone. The waiter overcooked 2 pieces of the Wagyu which is annoying when it is so expensive but overall it tasted great. I like their Tonkotsu Ramen, it broth tastes great and I've had ramen all over this area, in New York City, LA area, Tokyo and Kyoto. While the broth was well balanced and clean, there simply wasn't enough of it - even though I asked to skip the corn. It feels like this place focuses a lot of energy on the interior decor, promos, and aesthetics, while the quality of the main entrees hasn't quite caught up. Food: Some of the best sushi in NoVa, why? Because they allegedly don't use frozen fish. Also, the best Ramen I've ever had. I never knew that Raman could actually be this good. Service: Terrible. We've kept coming back because the food is so good, but the service has gotten progressively worse. If you have a large party, good luck getting your order right (and placed in front of you, not your neighbor). If you have split checks, CHECK IT twice.... We've had countless wrong bills, were charged for stuff that we didn't even order & even got someone else's checks sometimes. Have you ever heard of a place that charges for extra wasabi or ginger? You have now... Not only are their prices a bit steep, but they also charge extra for condiments, including hot sauce (they call it "Flavor Amp" -- It's like a garlic chili paste -- delicious... but still) To-Go orders frequently missing part of our order even though it's on the receipt & was paid for. Many times, no chopsticks / plasticware or napkins. On multiple occasions we've tried calling in an order & the line was busy for hours. This forces us to drive over there in order to place a to-go order, only to find out that someone left the phone off the hook! Seriously???! This has happened to us 4 times, despite the fact that we've notified them each time. Our last visit really did it for us....... We called in an order, they said it will be ready in 20 minutes. I got there 30 minutes later & saw that it wasn't ready yet, so I waited patiently for 15 more minutes. Still, no dice, so I asked a worker who was laughing it up with the sushi chefs behind the bar. He gave me a cocky grin & said it will be about 15 more minutes. I was shocked & he asked if I wanted to talk to the manager... I said "Yes, because we placed our order 45 minutes ago & were told it would be ready in 20." So, talking to the manager, he told me that they were busy & he was sorry for the wait. I told him that I totally understand if they're busy, that's fine, the place only was 25% full at the time, but still... If they are so busy that the food will take 50 minutes, please tell me it will be ready in 50 minutes, not 20! I don't have time to twiddle my thumbs for a half hour. Anyways, 17 minutes later, the food came out--a whopping 62 minutes after the order was placed. I'm pretty sure the guy who took our order over the phone was new, but that's no excuse. Who was managing my order? I think the guy forgot to put in my order until I showed up at the restaurant, even then it took 32 minutes. Regardless, the manager on duty, Scott, handled it very professionally & comped our meal due to the inconvenience & told me that he had some additional training he needs to do for some of their employees. Despite this, we will never come back here. This would be a 1star rating but the food is just too good to give 1 star. Environment: You get a classy authentic vibe in this place... Very modern & simplistic, with a comforting ambiance. It's not too loud... it's what you would expect for an upper scale sushi joint such as this. read more

Every corner is a photo-op; the decor is intimate enough for a solo date like mine, yet perfect for a family gathering. The service? The staff was incredibly attentive, thoughtful, and kind. But the highlight was being greeted by the owner, **Cristiana**. Her energy is a magnet--joyful, prosperous, and deeply genuine. She noticed me sitting alone and immediately made me feel seen, even offering to take a photo of me because she "felt my bright energy." We shared stories, took pictures, and she made me feel like family. Her presence is a blessing to every guest who walks through those doors. The Food Of course, the food matched the incredible service: The Sushi: Tasted remarkably fresh. The crab meat felt like it was taken straight from the shell and placed on the roll. I added cream cheese to mine, and the quality was top-tier. The Pork Buns: These are a mandatory staple! They literally melt in your mouth. The Lychee Drink: Perfectly balanced--not too sweet, not too light. A full 5 stars on its own. Cristiana, you are an angel on earth. Your smile is contagious, and your leadership is evident in how effectively this restaurant is run. I left with a full heart and a full stomach. I have been here several times and I thought I'd update my review. But, I didn't see it here. The Yelp! Review filter (which probably is, in actuality, a group of humans messing around with all of us - users and business owners alike) must have devoured it like I do my sushi. Restaurant was great design and comfortable with a chill vibe. Is it a prerequisite for good sushi to be served only in a cramped, plain, generic space? I don't think so. They stand out from the other places I sometimes visit (e.g, they make their own tamago egg sushi, they make fat plump ebi not flat, they have hamachi Kama and shishamo but not on their menu, they have different kinds of natto and can make it with maguro or ika or shiso). Washed it down with a beer sampler of craft brew (Flying Dog and Devils Backbone stuff). I had the gyoza and like someone else wrote they are huge, compared to the small factory stuff in a lot of other places. I'm pretty sure their skins are machine made, but the filling is solid. They should have a dumpling eating contest. I'm pretty sure I could place. I have yet to return to the ramen, but it was promising the first time I had it. It's been too warm for me to try to enjoy it. Once the weather turns to real autumn chill, I'll be more apt to further explore their ramens. In the meantime, I will give them 4.5 stars and be more positive by rounding up, instead of down like most people do in their reviews. read more

Popped into Kizuna around 8pm on a Monday to get some dinner. I ordered the tiger vine roll, a couple pieces of nigiri, a veggie roll, and some edamame (I was hungry!). There were only three or four more parties in the restaurant which, you know, can spell disaster. Not sure why but so many restaurants don't do well when they aren't busy. Anyway, that wasn't the case at Kizuna. The waitress was on point, delivering my beverage and food items as soon as they were ready. The edamame was really good. Menu says it's a slightly different type than the traditional green edamame we are used to. This type was green & brown and had a great flavor. The tiger vine roll was fantastic and the veggie roll was cool and refreshing. Neither required a lot of added sauce or flavor although I did add some wasabi to the veggie roll. The nigiri was out of this world. I really love when I get fresh tasting salmon and tuna and I was pleasantly surprised with this selection. One nice touch was the paper thin slice of lemon served atop the salmon. That really added another flavor dimension. This one is well worth a try if you're in the Tyson's Corner area. It's a bit tricky to get in and out but with some patience you'll be fine. read more

Didn't really know what to order so I asked my server DJ what I should get. He suggested to order a ramen and a signature roll, as well as a seaweed salad. The salad was crisp and refreshing, it was very good. I ordered the onyx dragon roll which was fantastic since I love eel. Then I finished it off with the kizuna ramen, it was a little salty but still good. The service was excellent, DJ was very friendly and knew what to suggest. I gave this restaurant a shot and tried it out because it had ramen. I've had ramen before at a few places so I have something to compare it to. When I entered I immediately in my head compared the interior design with other Japanese restaurants. It did not feel authentic and seemed more generic. I ordered the sushi, California and salmon rolls, they tasted average to good. Than I also tried the chicken ramen. The noodles were not cooked enough and were kinda hard. The chicken came of the grill and didn't taste good at all. The broth was light and flavor was just way below average. I ordered takeout sushi from Kizuna Sushi in Tysons Corner and honestly, I was let down. The presentation was nice, and it all arrived looking good, but that's where the positives stopped. The sushi itself was just so-so. The salmon and tuna especially didn't hit the mark - they tasted pretty much identical and didn't have that fresh, standout taste you'd hope for from a sushi place. Would not stop talking to us while we're eating and boosting about her success while we already knew her failures. Second time coming back to give this place another chance. I went here on a Groupon and recommendation that my friend gave me. It was nicely decorated, the sushi was delish, but the ramen (although I can tell it's fresh) just isn't suited to my tastes. It tasted a little too salty and tasteless to me but I can definitely recommend Kizuna's sushi and excellent service. The ramen's bowl confused me due to its unusual, chair-like design and I spilt some of it on the table. The lady was really nice and there weren't too many customers or too little.
