We came to Harrahs to see a concert and decided to have dinner here instead of something heavy at the buffet or the cafe. We were expecting much since we live near all the great Asian restaurants in the San Gabriel valley but, we have to say, it wasn't bad! I had the beef chow fun while my wife had the sweet and sour chicken and they were both good. We particularly liked the big pieces of chicken. Fortunately we got to sit in a booth as the place is really small. By 7, there was a line to get seated. Yes, all the dishes were twice as much as you would normally pay for Chinese good but, that is expected. If we ever come back to Harrahs, we probably eat here again. read more

They open at 11am, the restaurant is empty and they ignore the people in line, some people with disabilities. we got seated 40 mins later after opening. with empty restaurant. the host sucks, she works serving tables and hosting at the same time. they only have 3 servers. and they ignore the people waiting in line, like they don't exist. just pathetic. Went here despite the reviews bc it was so busy both nights prior. We were sat right away but the guy who helped us basically rushed us thru our choices. Didn't get us drinks Even after i asked him if we could order drinks. We had to ask someone else. The food was ok. We were ignored the entire time. First time at Harrah's resort, the last thing I would've expected to see here was Chinese food so I was pretty stoked. I went exactly at the time they were opening so I had trouble waiting in a line or anything like that. I did notice the seats did get filled up really quick afterwards though so be ready to wait. Customer service right here was welcoming and the atmosphere was great with a view of the casino! Unfortunately, the food didn't have a lot of flavor as other Chinese places I have been to. I ordered a lot of dishes and the only one that stood out to me was the honey walnut shrimp. Now, that is a MUST get at any Chinese restaurant. Anyways, they did have A LOT of options to choose from which is nice for those who likes to explore different options. I think it's nice that they also do take out! Not only is this restaurant way overpriced it is the only Asian restaurant that charges extra for rice with your entree!! When you pay $31 for Honey Walnut Shrimp you get just that-a plate of Honey Walnut Shrimp. No melon in the entree very little sauce and no rice. I had to pay $3 extra for a small bowl of white rice. Another server then came around and asked us what we wanted for food (after we had already ordered 20 mins earlier). We then only saw the original server one time after the initial interaction an hour plus later when we had interacted with the manager. The manager did the best he could to resolve the situation, but he needs to let go of the staff that makes this place uncomfortable and not somewhere people feel guilty on their vacation. The plates start at about $20.00 for very simple dishes so the expectation for an authentic meal was disappointing. Not only was the food overly salted & sour it was difficult to even consume. The vegetables were over cooked & grey. The meat was low quality and filled with gristle. The rice dish(very basic) was made with hard clumps of rice, hard old chicken, and pieces of discarded fish. I should have written this review a year ago, but I am glad I waited as the consistency is still there. This is our "go to" place at Harrah's. The food is always fresh, hot and delicious. The prices are reasonable. The service is great. The people working there are friendly and all to happy to make recommendation. It is fun to sit outside and watch the parade of people. Worst Chinese I've had living in CA(7yrs). Needed a quick bite before a trade show at the casino event center. Got the shrimp graw mau and orange chicken. The shrimp app never came, they said it would be 10min after I was almost done with the chicken. The chicken was covered in this gross thick sauce that didn't even taste good and the chicken as small pieces of whatever crap they had left in the back. If I had to do it again I would go to pinks and get a burger or something from the sand which place around the corner of the floor. You need to stick with the simple stuff here or soups as it seems very traditional with whole fish dishes etc. also make sure you ask for white meat only or they'll give you some breaded crap. Beef lo mein was great. The cashew chicken was served with peanuts and not cashews. Kind of a strange mix. The chicken and celery did have a great garlic flavor though. Came for dinner Thursday night although skeptical of the negative reviews pertaining to service and wait time. There were 6 parties ahead of us and our wait time was about 20 minutes at 6pm. The gentlemen provided good service and the food came out hot although a little staggered. Didn't mind as have gotten used to less wait staff in ALL restaurants wherever you go. Food was great, big portions. Yes a little more money than our back at home restaurants but we are at Harrah's and expect it. read more
