We ate here on a tuesday night dinner. No one was on the front so we waited until someone came who gave us a table. We requested to eat inside as the outside smells like cigarettes from the casino and that we have a small child with us but we were told we're not allowed inside.but there are few people eating inside. They seem to forget about us as we waited for 30 mins but no ine gave us the menu, we just helped ourselves looking at the menu from yelp, no one came to ask us if we are ready to order or if we need a menu. So we tried to call their attention several unsuccessful times until finally a lady waitress came to take our orders and she came back fast with the food. We were so famished that i never get to document the food lol. We had mongolian beef, a little bit on the salty side but i liked it anyway. We also had Orange chicken, honey walnut shrimp, sauteed bok choy, and fried rice. Overall the stars I gave was for the food and the lady who came to finally take our order and delivered the food fast. If not for her I would have given this one star. read more

This spot is very good. It really hit the spot. The service needs a little work but I'm not here to make friends So I don't really care. My favorite thing was the honey walnut shrimp and the hot and sour soup. I don't understand why this place only has 3 stars. I would have gave it 5 stars if the service was just a little better. The food was okay here...no real complaints, but similar dishes at other chinese restaurants are generally better by comparison. There's no ambience to speak of here. There is also no bar, so I don't think you can even get wine there...that wasn't a big deal to us...we were there after a show and pretty limited because a lot of places in the resort/casino closed at 10. The service was among the worst I've ever experienced. Everything came out fast, but zero customer service/hospitality skills on the part of the servers there. This place is ridiculously expensive, the food is mediocre and the staff isn't friendly. In fact all the restaurants at Harrahs Southern California Resort are way too overprice. The soup was way too spicy and not what to expect from a standard hot and sour soup. We had 2 spoonful and couldn't eat anymore. The dishes came in long time gaps and we had to ask for rice. The kung pao chicken was covered in onions and bell pepper. The chicken had bones in them. The rice noodle and beef was bland tasting and had only 4 small stripes of beef. We tried eating here last night, but we're ignored by literally EVERY employee for 20 minutes as we waited at the "Wait to be seated" podium. We left because not one employee a acknowledged us, or any of the other parties standing in line. We decided to come back the following day for lunch to give them a chance since I own a small business too and understand that sometimes things happen. Again, barely acknowledged. Once we finally sat down, we ordered. Entrees were extremely small portions for triple the amount of other Chinese restaurants and they charge for rice white was the only thing that tasted good, it's $3 for a tiny bowl. The rice is not included with your entree like all other restaurants. The pot stickers taste like the frozen ones from Costco. ALL the employees look like they haven't slept in weeks and have absolutely no life or energy in them. It's really sad. I would not come back here again, even if I was starving and this was the only place open. I genuinely feel sorry for their employees. It is apparent that they don't want to be here. Harrahs very generous with offers in their casino and food comp. I like that its not as far as vegas. Everytime I go to harrahs, I go here at KJ restaurant since Ive been getting food comps. I came here yesterday and I am very bitter on how I was treated here. I waited for half an hour before they opened at 11. Finally when they opened, they still could not help me with my to go order because the computer was not working. A short lady came out yelling at me saying, Im going to have to wait because the computer is not working. No apologies, just rudely yelling at me like I did something wrong. I remained composed. She continued to try and work the computer, finally 11:10 the computer is working... She walks away and doesnt take my order. As she was walking away, she yells and says she'll find out whats not available in the menu. This is bizzare because I've ordered to go here before but never had anyone had to check whats not available. And why was she checking it after all the wait? Couldnt an employee try to find out whats available or not available before they open? After all the wait while fixing the computer, she had to walk away to find out. OK.. She comes back with a list of stuffs thats not available. Which I could care less about because I do not order them. She starts telling me about them and rudely asking so what do you want? Do you know what you want? I was like yes I do.. (still trying to be composed at this point, but wondering at the same time why is she so rude to me) I told her what I wanted and she's WHAT? , then grabs the menu and starts to flip it asking which one is that? They have really gone down hill. We have been coming here for 4 years and always got good service . We came in here last night and were told we had to order our appetizers and entrees at the same time because the kitchen was busy. We got our entrees before our appetizer and after 5 minutes of having our food, the appetizers still weren't there. We asked our server what the heck and he just started waving his arms and YELLING at us that they were busy. No apology or anything. He was so rude. We ended up just cancelling our appetizers. I recently had dinner at KJ Chinese Restaurant with my family. There were four of us and so we each selected a dish and ordered rice. They have a lot of interesting sounding dishes, but maybe many of them are more adventurous than we in our group were! We had a few dishes like Kung Pao shrimp and the Garlic lobster and apparently we had a pork dish that for the life of me, I do not remember eating! What was particularly odd was the dishes came out kind of randomly and mostly one at a time with the last dish forgotten until we asked for it. Additionally, I definitely recommend asking what market price is on those items marked as market price. It never dawned on me when I ordered it that the lobster dish would be $48. It was tasty, though and the one I remember enjoying the most. Overall, the food here was fine, the service was not great. It might be a cultural thing as I love eating in Chinese restaurants, but in the past those I've eaten at the food came out at a pace that is familiar to me. Since I've eaten here only the one time, i don't know if this is the way the food is served or if it was just an off night. For those of you that have been to the K.J. Chinese Restaurants in Las Vegas, don't expect much decor here as there simply isn't room for it within this hotel/casino. What you can expect is their delicious food and to pay a little bit more of a premium for it unless you have comps. This is simply a name change from what it used to be. The food is a bit tastier though. The servers are the same... When you're not craving prime rib, tacos or sandwiches, this is a great dining option. If you're not really hungry for huge entrees, you can try their Dim Sum, reasonably priced and perfect for people with small appetites. You can't miss this place, as it is situated between the Cafe and Fiore's. Pricing is also in between the range of the Cage and Fiore's. Expect to spend about $50 per couple before tip. I highly recommend their walnut shrimp... it's damn good! Remember to tip well. Who knew dimsum could be so good in casinos? I have been to the KJ kitchen location in Las Vegas before, and was pleasantly surprised to see that they opened up another location at Harrahs. Being from San Francisco, I have very high expectations for dim sum. The dishes at KJ really hit the spot. The ha gow (shrimp dumplings) are sooo good, and the skin is not to thick like it is at other places. My favorite has got to be the siu mai (pork dumpings). I'm not normally a fan of fried things, but my friend ordered one of their deep fried dumplings. It was really good! Not greasy, and super juicy. I was surprised at how good their service was, considering this was a pretty new restaurant. Only once did I have to remind someone to bring me something that I had asked for, but overall, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely go again! read more

The food here was pretty good however...The menus were as you would expect in any high end cuisine establishment; names of dishes which provides no explanation about what accompanies (or does not in this case) the dish. The service was slow and inattentive. My food came straight away. My wife's food came much, much later and it was cold. We sent the food back, and the check came before my wife's dish came back. To their credit, they did take my wife's dish off of the check, but only after I asked. In addition to the poor service, you have to bring in and go and refresh your own alcoholic beverage in the casino. It worth the cost. read more

Our party got the table around 11:30 pm on Saturday night and the rest of us arrived around 11:45pm. The posted signs aid close at 1am and our request to move to the table outside was denied. Then we order from the Dim Sum section, our server said let me check if that's still available. It's 11:45!! And you close at 1!! We order shrimp hagow, shumai, orange beef (too sweet) and lots of other dishes. So far nothing outstanding but at 12am it's much better than Pink's. I went in yesterday (02/11/21) around 6 to dine in, food was great like always and decided to grab some food to go after playing. I stood in line for order pick up with one person ahead of me and no one took care of us until the lady in front of me got a servers attention after not acknowledging us for almost 10 minutes. (The manger even saw us and he was just waking around) the guy took the lady's receipt brought her the food and walked away seeing me behind the lady with my receipt. I decided to walk all the way inside to get someone's attention and my food. And did let one of them know they were slacking off and he even got a attitude, then manger snatched my receipt and gave me my food. Excellent Chinese food for a very fair price. We have been to this restaurant multiple times over the years and have go-to items we almost always order. All items are eaten family-style with white rice. Whole roast duck: by far the best roast duck in/around San Diego. Nice crispy skin with properly rendered fat and very flavorful meat. Undoubtly prepared by a skilled chef. Salt and pepper fried squid is spicy, salty and crispy. The batter on the squid is light and crispy and fried at the right temperature so it is not greasy. Very reasonable portion size. Honey walnut shrimp is always fresh, not overcooked, right sweetness in sauce. Shrimp are big and the portion size is reasonable given the price.
