I scheduled an appliance repair appointment for 10:00 AM, but the technician called once at 8:30 AM, which was before the scheduled appointment time. I replied by text at 8:40 explaining the appointment was supposed to be after 10. Their response was to claim they had called "a few times" and to tell me to call back if I decide to make an appointment. That statement was not accurate, as there was only one call and the appointment had already been scheduled. Canceling an appointment because a customer didn't answer the phone an hour and a half before the agreed time is unreasonable. Misrepresenting the situation afterward makes it even worse. He did reply saying ok he will come after 10 but , then changed up on payment by check etc. that was unsettling and seems that details change too much . Needless to say.. I'm too uncomfortable with this unstable communication. I decided then to just cancel as there's no trust in this communication so, how can I trust the repairs? Very disappointing experience and not the level of professionalism I would expect from a service company. Rearranging MY schedule for them to be treated this way is so frustrating. I scheduled an appointment to have my oven repaired through Electrolux since it's still under warranty. They arranged for KJ Repair & More to conduct the repair, I just had to call to confirm the appointment. I called during their business hours on three different days before the day of my appointment and never got an answer. I left a voicemail with the ticket number, my name, phone number and even a verbal confirmation of the appointment with a request for a call back and never got one. It's now 2 hours after the 12-5 PM window and not only has no technician come, I STILL haven't gotten a call back. Avoid this company at all costs for appliance repair. He was at a rental house to fix a small issue with a cut wire . He said it would cost $200 and I agreed on the phone. I was hiking and away from my phone so I missed his calls after and didn't pay him for a few hours. We agreed to a Zelle payment but I didn't know that the payment had to be done so urgently because people normally invoice me and I pay after the job is done maybe end of day or next day even! He refused to leave the tenants house and sat in the kitchen, after an hour he cut the wire he had fixed and also removed the valve from the dishwasher (that was existing) so we can't connect the water hoses back on now. If that's not poor business practice I don't know what is. I have had rental properties around Austin for 15 years and I have never not paid a contractor for a job agreed on. Being away from my phone for a few hours now means I have to reorder the valve that's not in stock, besides repair the original problem! What a joke! Stay away from these kind of people UPDATE TO RESPOND TO PEGI'S COMMENT: So many lies I don't know where to start with Pegi's comment. 1) Peter never expressed the payment had to be done instantly. I was outdoors and usually as a landlord I pay my contractors when I'm sent an invoice/bill. Sometimes 24 hours later or next day. He never expressed the urgency of payment required just that it was $200 and would need to be paid by Zelle. I agreed. 2) He cut the wire and stole a part before he left. There's no reason I would leave this review if he had just left and fixed the problem. I would have paid him. I've been land lording for 15 years and I have a reputable business both doing single family and multifamily business. $200 would not be the reason to ruin my reputation. Peter further threatened me saying he knows my business name etc. Like I should be scared. I had to have another repair person come in to fix it. 3) He refused to leave my tenant's house until he was paid. I haven't seen a worse business etiquette than this for $200 of payment. I work with several contractors including a roofer who got the work do worth over 25K and I paid later. $200 is worth your business getting a bad name? Seriously? 4) If you needed the money immediately you communicate that urgency saying I need to get paid right now to finish the work. You don't cut wires and try to undo the work and steal a part to make it worse. 5) I was out for a hike and I wasn't going to check the phone every minute. My dryer stopped working, and I couldn't get it apart myself, so I called KJ. Thankfully they were able to come over the very next day (lucky me!). My washer stopped working this weekend mid load of course. I went online to pull my owners manual and tried the factory reset. That did not work. I looked up the closest authorized service on the manufactures website and KJ was only 1 of a couple. I went to their website online to request an appt. This was on a Sunday, so I was expecting to hear back from them on Monday, but just a couple of hours later, they called and set up the earliest appt they had avail. Peter told me he would call me the morning of to give me a time frame. They showed up within the time frame. Found the issue and replaced the part. They also serviced the drain and filter for me. I was also able to get them to replace a bad breaker I have been dealing with. They made sure both items they were here to help fix were working as they should be prior to leaving. Top notch service! Our 4 year old LG dryer decided to quite running. I called LG, and KJ Repair was one of the names they gave us. After seeing their online reviews, it was a no-brainer to call them. I was shocked to be able to get an appointment that day...I figured I would have to take a vacation day later in the week. The guys showed up when they said they would, and were extremely pleasant to deal with. I'm an electronics tech by trade (sound systems, not dryers:). I was very impressed that these guys came in and actually worked the troubleshooting steps as outlined by LG. I had other techs service appliances, and would come in and say "oh...that's such and such wrong with it...I've seen that before." It would turn out they were wrong, and would result in another call back, and another wait for parts. And speaking of parts, Jan and Peter had the part they needed with them! In less than an hour, the dryer was back up and running. They also gave us a recommendation to have our vent cleaned, and referred us to someone they said would do a good job for us. KJ Repair first impressed with the speedy response to my phone message, calling me back in just a few minutes. Scheduling was equally quick, and the guys arrived later that same day. The service call charge is a very reasonable thirty dollars, which rolls into repair charges if you elect to repair rather than replace. Once diagnosed, the issue with my LG dishwasher was explained in detail (faulty sensor) and a reasonable price quoted. They had the part on hand, and also addressed some loosening of a motor mount I wasn't aware of for the same price. The work area was left as clean as before they started, they also took the time to demonstrate the fill and drain functions working perfectly when complete. Over the years I have unfortunately had to call KJ Repair for several appliance issues. Unfortunate because appliances don't seem to last as long as they used to. Fortunately, though, KJ has been there to help me through these trying times. They have always been prompt to respond, and most importantly, they are upfront, honest, and have the technical knowledge to diagnose the issue. Sometimes it will be a minor repair, other times, like my washing machine last week, it will be major and they'll give me the pros/cons of repair vs. replacement (I ended up replacing the washing machine). TERRIBLE experience. I called them out to fix our freezer and refrigerator. They spent a couple hours, and left saying "we're not sure, it might be fixed but it might not be....". Well it wasn't. And the next day the entire business was "on vacation" out of the country for a week plus. I ended up calling someone else and getting an immediate diagnosis. These guys are awesome! I had them out several times in the last few years and they fixed everything. They are prompt and honest and upfront. This morning I had them come out to fix a LG convection oven that have two burners that are not working. This oven have a very complicated computer system with circuit boards. They told me that most repair service won't even bother to deal with it. When they first opened up the unit, they found a burnt circuit board. They told me that they will try to fix it but it is no guarantee and if they can't then they will have to order a new circuit board which could be costly and they are no sure if it is even readily available. They worked on it from 9:30 am till 12:30 am with the two of them and they actually were able to fix it! When Peter represented me with his bill, I was surprised how reasonable it was so I gave a bit extra just to say thank you. They are the best! You can't go wrong using them. read more

Our dryer just stopped working all of a sudden so I looked online for repair service companies that could come and do the job, so I decided to call a couple companies and KJ were the only ones that offered to come by the very same day just a couple of hours after I made the call. They came at the scheduled time and fixed the dryer in less than an hour, their service was great, very professional and the showed a strong knowledge in the matter, which gave me lots of confidence towards their work, and if it was not enough, both personnel were very friendly and courteous. The repair was done and they explained the reason of the failure and how to do a little maintenance to the dryer by ourselves so it doesn't happen again. 4 yr old LG washer - started leaking and door opened in middle of the cycle flooding whole laundry room. Looked for authorized repair tech and call KJ. They came over to look very next day and told us about broken spring. Next day Peter came back with spring and fixed the washer. Once they left, I ran the washer and there was a leak again :(. I was disappointed and called Peter again. Peter was busy rest of the day and he said he will come take a look next day. Peter came back and fixed water level drain hose, not sure how it came out loose (may be spin cycle or while moving the washer). Now keeping fingers crossed for washer to have no more issues. My LG washer was not draining so I tried fixing it myself using online repair video. I changed out one of the drain pump and the drain hose but the washer was still not draining. I was contemplating getting a new washer but the new washer is more than $900! So I went online to see who LG licensed repair service companies are. There were 2. One had really terrible reviews on Yelp. The other one was KJ Repair. I decided to give KJ Repair a try. I made an appointment through their website. The gentleman called a couple of hours later to set up the date and the time. He told me the service call is $30 to diagnosis a problem and the service call charge can be used on the repair. I decided to give the service cal a try since I would be down only $30 if I decided to get a new washer. The service appointment was for the following day. He said that he will call to confirm the following day to confirm the time. He gave a time frame and showed up on time. Two gentlemen broke down the washer and diagnosed the problem. It was another drain pump that was not in the repair videos. The total charge came to $160. The washer is working great. I would definitely use the KJ Repair again if I have a problem. I was satisfied and I will continue to use KJ for any future needs. Scheduling the repair with my tricky schedule was no trouble for them, and the window they gave for arrival was within one hour. They arrived within that window. They repaired my washer quickly and checked in with me about cost at every step. They also solicited feedback from me at the end to ensure I was happy with the experience, and I was. Their website could use some improvement in order to communicate the following: basically any repair they make is guaranteed for 90 days, they charge $20 for the service call/estimate. There is a $4 charge for credit transactions. They also let me know they do other forms of repair: a/c & heat, stoves, fridges, and other handyman type work (not plumbing). Beyond that, my washer repair needed a part replaced, and parts + labor came to $104 charged on credit. This was about half of what Sears quoted me over the phone when I described my issue. These folks are reasonably priced, perform satisfactory work, and were very pleasant (both the techs and the reception admins). This is the second time we have called these guys. Dad and son I think. Son speaks basic English and takes care of the communication, papa handles majority of the work. Barely any English. Iranian. (Being an immigrant myself, I valued and respected how far they have come). As always, they were very courteous, very efficient, and did an awesome job. First time issue was the washer not draining. Lawd he pulled out things I don't wanna tell.... Well, I will. Spoon, thongs, jewelry . Today it was because my hubby's ring ended up in the wash and in between the drum and some other metal. Father and son team, they are awesome. Father is an electrical engineer and speaks little English, his son does most of the talking which is just fine. They are a hard working family running a business, doing solid work for a fair price and can tell they have a lot of repeat customers. They came out to look at my LG washer the same day and had it diagnosed in 30 minutes and fixed in another 30. Turns out there were several things wrong with it all due to the crappy Home Depot install team who mixed up the water lines putting the hot into the cold inlet and vice versa. After telling me they do service on all appliances, I asked them to look at my dishwasher which was misaligned after my son fell onto the open door. They fixed the dishwasher after 10 minutes of work to adjust it, and didn't charge any extra! And..the service fee to come diagnose and provide a quote is only $30. I have a two year old LG refrigerator which quit cooling last week. I called LG to get the name of an authorized repair facility,and they gave me three names, one of which has a "D" rating from BBB, the other couldn't get to me, and KJ responded quickly and came out that day, a Sunday. The two men who showed up are a father-son team, very nice, very polite, immediately found a leak in the sealed system, with freon leaking. They said that normally they do not work on sealed systems but in this case would take care of it within two business days. They did show up yesterday, slightly later than agreed, due to delays in another job. Within 15 minutes they told me that after all they couldn't fix the problem and that I should find an independent appliance repair company to do it. The suggestion was to check Craigslist. I was charged $30 for the first service call, nothing for the second. So I got on Yelp this morning and found an independent repair guy, "ACCESS SERVICE COMPANY" (use them!). The proprietor Bo, came out and immediately agreed with KJ's diagnosis, and explained in detail what would be entailed in the repair and approximately how much it would cost, but then practically demanded I call LG, as at least the parts of the sealed system are still under warranty...a fact KJ, the authorized repair guys, did not tell me. I called LG and immediately asked for a supervisor, bypassing the young lady who was going to ask me if the refrigerator was running ("you better go catch it!). No, she wasn't really going to tell me to catch it. Upshot: LG is covering both the parts, per the warranty, AND the labor, as a goodwill gesture due to the hassle I've had thus far. I'm out about $90 for the two service calls from KJ and Access, but it's better than the hundreds of dollars I'd have spent on repair, even under the parts warranty. So LG and Access handled things the way one would want. KJ was very polite, but I do not yet need to go catch my refrigerator. You decide who to use. read more

I first want to say thank you guys for coming on such a short notice to rescue me from a leaking washer. When I called the business the lady that answered the phone was so pleasant. I needed assistance the same-day and they really came through. First, I had noticed my washer leaking and mind you I live on the second floor so it was an emergency to stop before it became a huge problem. I went looking through yelp and made a call.
