Had the Fried Island Snapper with a waterslide margarita and biscoff banana pudding Music on point. 80s and 90s RnB The bartender was very helpful with me deciding what to order. I wanted to try everything on the menu especially the smash burger because this is the first restaurant to have beef bacon as an option. I don't eat pork or chicken but the menu is massive enough with other choices I can eat. I enjoyed the rice. I wasn't a huge fan of the island snapper. I don't know if it was the marinade but it was too tangy for my liking. Overall a good fry on the fish. The sweet potato curry was different. It paired well with the rice and fish. I would give the dish a 3.5/5 The margarita! 5/5 The banana pudding had no bananas. It was banana flavored pudding, caramel, whipped topping and biscoff cookie. It wasn't what I expected but enjoyable. 4/5 I would say to add flame less candles to the tables. My table had an old candle that couldn't be lit.

The restaurant came to recommended by a colleague, we visited here on a Friday evening 7pm reservations. They sat us promptly. Our server was courteous and attentive but did seem a bit overwhelmed, perhaps they were short staffed. We ordered the sampler appetizer tray, it was tasty but portions were small relative to price. It was 3 of us, 2 were underwhelmed by their food with 1 returning their chicken. I enjoyed my sweet potato soup. Nice decor and good parking, the restaurant is in an apartment building or perhaps a hotel, the restroom is shared.

We went to dinner at Klassic Kitchen this week and had some awesome food. We had the lamb chops which were cooked perfectly and so moist and juicy. We also had the Cajun penne pasta which may sound easy to make, although I have had many variations that were not that good. This one was authentic and we asked if the chef was from New Orleans as it was so delicious. It was spicy but not overwhelming the flavor profile which was sublime. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the fact that they were also very attentive; both Sam and Darnitia were on top of their game! We will definitely be back.

Came here for a second time. My meal was delicious and the cocktail was good, better than my previous experience with the cocktails. I love the ambiance, decor, music and vibe. Our waitress was outstanding for our large group, very pleasant.

Throughly enjoyed brunch at Klassics I had been to the cream cafe side many times for the breakfast burrito so was fun to see the beautiful classy decor and fun music on the other side. I like that there's an option for ala carte or the millionaires breakfast brunch. The server let us go up to check out the brunch items before deciding it all looked amazing and that was what we had come for. The brunch had delicious peaches and waffles, salad, lamb chops, salmon, cheesy eggs, potatoes, grits, fruits, an awesome Cookie, bacon and sausage. Interesting note the sausage was chicken and bacon beef *no pork in this restaurant. Just ask for more plates if needed I asked because I didn't want my savory items and sweet ones together. If I had any feedback it'd be to explain how the brunch works like the server will bring your plates. Also would love if there was a way to offer a few more drink options juices or a couple coffee or tea drinks since they own cream cafe next door but at Klassics its mostly just cocktails for drink options or black coffee. They did say I could go over to the other side order a fun coffee drink and come back but I decided against it. Also maybe it'd be nice if the plain coffee was included with the brunch buffet. It was a very enjoyable meal and my family loved it too!! Thanks!!

It was so so hot in the restaurant. I thought the service was good, though with a large group food came out at different times and automatic 22% gratuity. I guess I would say try it in the winter? I did throw up on my drive home, but I think it is a personal issue due to being warm and having eaten fried food.

I'm a big fan of their sibling cafe C.R.E.A.M. next door, so it was inevitable that I try out the Sunday brunch at Klassics. I went for the $45 Millionaire Brunch Buffet. That's a little steep compared to what I normally spend, so I was prepared to report back that it's overpriced. But based on the food quality, it is not in fact overpriced. I tried almost everything that was available and most of it was good enough that I can imagine ordering it individually and being satisfied. The best was the lemon pepper salmon, that was absolutely delicious. I saw a lot of praise in other reviews for the Crab Boil Wings, but those weren't available at the buffet, probably because I was only there for its final 45 minutes. The dry rub wings were excellent, and so were the eggs, the grits, the chicken apple sausage, really everything. Even the fruit salad was totally above average. The only food item I didn't particularly care for was just labeled "pasta" next to the tray. It had a distinct flavor which might have just been an odd fit for me. My service was friendly; for a pricey buffet, I would expect to be replenished with clean plates and cutlery pretty quickly, but instead I had to flag her down a couple of times. I was seated next to the bar, even though it looked like there were some nicer tables available and I'd made a reservation; I was a little jealous of the people in the dining room proper. Overall, though, the food here is good enough to recommend to anyone with a budget that matches these prices. They have some very intriguing items on their dinner menu, so I'll definitely come back for that.

What can I say? I'm officially in love with the Cashville Salmon at Klassic Kitchen! It's perfectly seasoned, cooked just right, and bursting with flavor honestly, I crave it now. The atmosphere is inviting and gives off those warm, relaxed vibes that make you want to hang out a little longer. Whether you're coming in for a solo bite or meeting up with friends, it just feels good to be there. The staff? Super friendly, attentive, and on point with their service. They make you feel welcome the moment you walk in. And the food overall? AHHHHMAZING. Every bite was full of flavor, and you can tell they put love into what they serve. Klassic Kitchen is definitely going on my regular rotation. Can't wait to come back!

Been here a couple times and love it. They have a small parking lot but might have to park on the street. I usually try to get reservations just in case. Beautiful restaurant, friendly and helpful staff every time. I've tried multiple food items and loved them all. Drinks are good and strong, just depends what you like, they have a lot of options. Can't wait for my next visit!

EJ was a great server. The music was a little loud but the drinks were delicious and weren't too strong. The crab boil wings were good but I enjoyed the collard stuffed salmon more. This location has such a beautiful connection to African American heritage and the decor was also very beautiful. Paid street parking is available.

I visited Klassics last year (sorry still catching up on my reviews) while in town for a conference. I joined a random conference group for dinner and ended up at one of the best restaurants! From the venue to the menu, everything was delicious! Our group though strangers, all ordered different dishes and then shared. My favorites were the crab boil wings, blackeyed pea hummus, and the tenders on the I want it all sampler (I didn't try the taquitos but it did not look good) I ordered the 1/2 chicken with mashed potatoes, and asparagus. Loved the sides but the chicken was a bit dry. I will say I almost bought dessert because the peach cobbler upside down cake sounded amazing. However, I sampled someone else's and it was a disappointment! If I'm ever back in town I'll definitely return!

Stopped in for a quick cocktail and were impressed with the bright open space. We easily grabbed a seat at the bar and ordered two delicious and well made cocktails. We didn't order any food but it all looked delicious!

Relatively easy to find, though you do have to hunt a little bit, Flora Room sits behind a nondescript metal door leading down a short hallway to the entrance. Take a long moment to allow your eyes to adjust if you're coming before sunset; this space is DARK. It's also perfect. Once your "night vision" kicks in you're surrounded by a nice bar, numerous bistro-style tables and booths. Candles adorn the tables creating a nice, cozy place to settle in for drinks. Once seated in comfortable chairs at a table, we were quickly greeted and provided with menus. The cocktail selection is relatively "small" but really nicely varied. Prices seemed a tad steep but frankly, given the quality of the drinks I'd say quite worth it. I started out with the Evita, a nice flavorful gin-base cocktail topped with a nice egg white foam. Very tasty. My wife opted for the Tapaculo, with gin, mezcal, pineapple, banana and bitters over ice. Also quite good. There are also bites available from the associated restaurant I can't recall the name of mine but I can say it was delicious. Bread-like bites with a really tasty dipping sauce. To close out the visit I selected Palo, a smoked aged rum cocktail that was really nice and rich. My wife chose the Nahualito with rum, walnut, amontillado and white chocolate. All should be on your radar. Flora Room really fit the bill for a nice, intimate speakeasy-style spot to spend time. Dark and cozy. Savory cocktails and friendly service will stand out and make you want to return. I know we'll seek it out if we return to Minneapolis again. I hope so.

Fortunately, I arrived at 5:30 PM on a Saturday, which was early enough to avoid a line and a velvet rope. I don't wait in line for anything unless I'm at a pharmacy, bakery, post office, or airport. Lines at restaurants and bars strike me as pretentious or bad management, and I don't tolerate either. However, I'm old, and at my age, nothing is worth waiting for unless it's a necessity. I found a seat at the beautiful and expansive bar and looked around at the Del Prado design. The colors might be different, but Flora was reminiscent of Minari and Noma. All three add to the Twin Cities' cachet. However, I was taken aback by the attire I saw around me. People were dressed in shorts, T-shirts, and sneakers. It's friggen Saturday night Minneapolis. Have some class! Flora Room was a lovely cocktail lounge, perfect for wooing, but don't expect to strike up a conversation with any of the bartenders. At these Del Prado joints, the staff must be trained not to engage. I'm out alone and enjoy talking. Bartenders used to be part of a lounge's attraction when I grew up in NYC. They learned your name, knew what you did, and gave you a hearty welcome. That, I guess, is not part of the culture in Minneapolis. Well, at least not at the Del Prado restaurants and bars. Chef Del Prado is from Argentina, and certainly, Argentina is one of the warmest and friendliest countries in the world, so I don't get it. I now live up the block from the Flora Room. I'm a neighbor and would like to be treated like one. Neighborly and the Flora Room are distant concepts.

Upon entering we were greeted by a woman who was clearly wearing multiple hats as she seemed rushed, a bit off putting and quite frankly distracted. It was Juneteenth the middle of the afternoon and there were maybe 6 people at the bar and one other table besides ours with 2 diners. The person seating us was also our server and the bartender. Menu is small but the items we ordered were all fabulous! Every single one! The collard green dip with cornbread pita chips was absolutely delicious - Think spinach artichoke dip but soul food! The salmon croquettes with lemon herb aioli and arugula salad that accompanied were fresh and light! The catfish sandwich with fries was hot, crispy and well seasoned with fresh lettuce and tomato on a perfectly tender brioche bun. I want to return so bad for the food but it was clear this host, server, bartender and partial cook was pulled in too many directions and that severely compromised our service and gave us stand off energy as first time patrons. I looked it up and she is actually one of the owners. She came across as irritated especially once we didn't order any alcoholic drinks first and then very short and curt following. What took the cake was her telling us she was leaving for the day and needed to close our tab while we were eating. Didn't ask did we want to order anything else and there was another server taking her place and an empty restaurant! My partner had to put his sandwich down wipe his hands pull out his wallet while she stood there impatiently. Then proceeded to linger around hugging her regular bar patrons. It was clear this is a "regulars" spot and if you're not one you're rolling the dice on the service you may or may not get. We were patient and didn't complain because it was Juneteenth and our intention to support black restaurants all weekend. I have many previous years in the industry as a cook, host and GM and I was stunned to know that she was one of the owners when I looked it up. Had planned to return for live music but unfortunately the off putting energy and unwelcoming vibe may have squashed that possibility. I hope they improve service because the food is delicious and deserves attention from a larger and more sophisticated audience.
