So I'm hesitant to give a glowing review to KMZ Nails because I don't want all of you people rushing in and getting appointments!! I'd like to keep them to myself, but --it's only right to share.My nails look amazing- she did a fabulous job.! Place was clean, manicurist was pleasant and a nice conversationalist, prices are fair-$50 for tips, acrylic with shellac overlay. Very pleased- this is my new spot!!

I've been looking for a new nail salon & decided to give KMZ a try since they had so many positive reviews. I am SO happy I did. Their staff was incredibly friendly, the salon was so clean & they did my nails better than anyone else ever has. The shape, color, everything turned out perfect! See Jesse, you won't regret it! For a complete set & shellac mani, she took two hours and only cost $100. So impressed!

First off, I just wanna say, I called Sunday afternoon and the manager, Jesse, said she would take me at 5pm. That's when they CLOSE. I was so shocked that she'd take me that late because I wanted a pedicure and a full set. But she didn't mind. So I finally get to my appointment at 5 and (I've never been here before) it's so CLEAN. They have a never ending color selection of regular, gel, and powder polishes. Now this is one of the two reasons I had to post my review. #1 being that everyone is so friendly you just end up in a good mood while you're there. #2 Jesse made my nails look like I've never seen before. She shaped them so perfectly and the ombré is so subtle and simple yet completely gorgeous. I genuinely didn't even realize I had kept this poor lady there 2 hours after closing because we were talking so much! Jesse is so friendly and knowledgeable about nails. I can't see myself going anywhere else considering the all around experience I get here

Cut into all my cuticles, left glue everywhere, and index finger has been burning/hurting since yesterday so let's hope it's not getting infected from not being cautious with the tools. The shapes are all different for each nail, and i specifically said i didn't want coffin nails, but instead wanted more of a straight effect(even showed a picture to reference)...ended up not saying anything because I'm never one to complain, but since my finger has been aching at an increasing level for 24 hours, i realized that it's a problem nobody else should go through at a nail salon (u could wind up going to the doctors for an infected nail), especially when they are being charged 55$ for this low quality service (even left a 10$ tip bc he took two hours n kept huffing and puffing and complaining). One star only because I like the color I picked. (These pictures are taken a day after getting my nails done, with hard scrubbing and filing on my own!) VERY DISAPPOINTED, just hoping that I don't have to get medical attention for my finger. Will be soaking in salt water and colloidal silver to disinfect!

Love Ha and Jessie they kill it everytime! I usually go to who ever is available. Last few times it was Ha. They are both so detail oriented and always have great suggestions for nail ideas. I drive all the way from Northville to do my nails! The only thing is because its just them two working they are usually super booked so getting nails done last minute can be kinda tough. This place is definitely a gem just wish it was closer to me!

i've been to KMZ twice now - and their services are unparalleled in the area! I recently moved to Shelby Township and I tried two high end salons and other salon before finding a home with KMZ. My parents were in town last weekend and the three of us had a wonderful time. Not only is the salon clean and comfortable but Jessie, Mr. Lee, and Ha are SO incredibly welcoming and have great customer service skills; they're very timely and responsive. Mr. Lee quietly takes meticulous care of your nails making it easy to relax in their very comfortable massage chairs. Jessie polishes them to perfection while keeping you entertained. I have not yet worked with Ha, but her personality is vibrant and young. Most importantly, their services are impeccable and affordable. You get a high value for your dollar. Heads up, tips are cash only - so come prepared!

Very disappointed. I came here because of all the great reviews. The first time I had a set of acrylics that started lifting after a week, which they told me was normal during cold temps. Okay fine, I'll take your word for it. But I went back to get them fixed which was around week 2 due to my busy schedule. I just wanted them glued back down since the color still looked good and I wasn't due for a fill. When I called and asked them on the phone they said it would be free to fix them no problem. I get there and of course they encourage me to just get them redone (therefore spending $35 more on top of the $55 I spent two weeks before) when I wanted to do a basic fill that cost $20 they upsold me to do acrylics with a gel overlay because it would be less likely to chip and overall look better. Well here I am less than two weeks later and the nails are already chipping. So why did you insist I spend more money? I also noticed after I left that she did not paint the top/tip of the nail so it looks awkward and half done. This is also probably why it started chipping so fast. So now that I've spent $90 this month on nails. I'm very upset because they don't even look good. PLUS none of this included a cuticle clean up. Most places I've gone to will include this. Lastly- they kept saying how my body needs to "absorb" and get used to their products before they might last and stay on properly. Sorry but that sounds like BS. I don't think my body needs to absorb your nail polish for it to stay on. The girls were super nice too so I'm bummed that the work they did did not last. I wanted this to be my new nail place!

It could honestly just be the technician I got but I got shellac done and they look like blocks. This is not the nails I want for an event I have coming up. The technician was rude too.

My new nail place! I haven't had a permanent nail place, because most of them are the same... just mediocre places. KMZ is very different, in a great way! I've come here a few times now... I've had pedicures and the shellac manicure. Every time I've come in...it's always been clean and the service is top notch! It doesn't matter which technician I get...they are ALL consistent (which is super hard to find). The prices are fair...and they have great relationships with their clients. I'm so happy I found a home for my nails and look forward to only coming here from now on. read more

Very pretty place. I am disappointed that they don't have staff to accommodate walk ins. I called and asked if I could walk-in and was not told to make an appt. I arrived and was told that I needed an appt! VERY CONFUSING. I probably won't go back to this place. There are too many nail shops in the area. Good Customer service is imperative. read more

Great experience! I discovered this salon on Yelp! It had great reviews and the space looked nice and clean. Upon arrival the owner Jessie was available to provide my service. I have acrylic nails and needed a new set. She was able to take off my old set quickly and pain free. She was very professional and friendly. Gave me a nice bottle of water to enjoy during my stay. I enjoyed my pedicure and she even provided facial wax services. Great one stop shop because I was able to get multiple services addressed. I don't live in Michigan but if I return to town I would definitely return to this salon. read more

I've been coming to KMZ for over a year now. And I love this place. I typically get manicure shellac every 2 weeks with Ha but Diamond did it this last time & it was lovely. I also get pedicures here so does my husband & kids. Customer service is always wonderful & if I have any issues they are great at addressing them. Like one time when one of my nails broke & they glued & reinforced my nail so it would not tear down my nail bed. read more

LOVED having my nails done by Jessie. Great personality and speaks perfect english. However my sister had her acrylics done by an older gentlemen and he did amazing too. They're all great. Best place to get full set acrylics hands down. I make a 40 minute drive to come here & it's definitely worth it. They are usually booked so make sure to make an appointment ahead of time. read more

Absolutely. Love. This. Place. It was my first time coming into KMZ and Jessie took such good care of me. The facility is basically spotless and everyone there was very friendly. My acrylics have been on for almost 3 weeks and they still look stunning. Will definitely be returning!! read more

Always the best here! Make sure to call for an appointment, it's worth the time and effort. My daughter and I make our appointments to see Jessie and Ha at the same time. It's official, I've found my new nail home A couple weeks ago, I went and got my nails done by a spot someone recommended to me and I HATED the color. I hate telling people I don't like something, so I just sucked it up, paid and left. But my nails were literally a holographic color and I couldn't deal with that. This is where KMZ comes in. I walked in without an appt on a Friday afternoon. Although SO busy, Jessie (the manager) told me she'd change my nails for me if I was willing to wait, which I was since I hated the color from the previous salon. Jessie removed a layer from the color and did a color on top since I literally just had a manicure done. The color was amazing and she's SO real to talk to. I instantly felt comfortable and relaxed with her. She fixed my nails and I now have appt's set up every 3 weeks her! read more

Went in yesterday for a pedi and gel manicure. Jessie was wonderful and really helped me pick out colors because I wasn't sure what I wanted. The entire place was very clean and all of the staff was friendly. This was the first nail salon that I like and that has done a truly good job. read more

Excellent salon! I'm extremely picky about my nails! This place was perfect! Clean, quiet, the ladies all speak English well and are engaging with each client! Anna did my nails! I was impressed with the customer service from her and all of the staff in general! Price, shaping, speed of service, Shellac brand and color selection.... everything about this place is GREAT! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the polish is on my cuticles in some areas.... but other than that my nails are perfect! read more

I will definitely make this my go to spot for pedicures. Very clean and the workers are all very friendly. This is one of the best pedicures I have had in a long time. Glad I found this place. The only reason I am giving it them a 4 is because as soon as you walk in the heavy smell of acetone is your in the air. They need some ventilation or open a door. Wow. I will never go to another nail salon in Oakland County. Back when I got acrylics (I've since stopped) I came here regularly during the summer to get them retouched or to change my color...all to amazing quality, friendly service, and a reasonable price. A full set of medium-length coffin-shaped acrylics with normal OPI polish was $35 (including tip) from what I can recall. Touch-ups, I believe were either $15 or $20. The staff here is super amicable, funny, and welcoming. They love talking with you and hearing your story because everybody has one. The woman who did my nails would regularly update me about her family and the trips they took when I returned. The salon is also the cleanest I have ever seen. No dust on the floor, grimy fans, big polish spills, or suspicious stains. When I got my nails done here, the files were always clean, if not new. Definitely give this place a try. I will surely be returning for normal pedicures and manicures. read more

Came here because the reviews were great but the nails I got were honestly terrible. When I asked for him to fix something, he would just laugh and nod but never did. I showed a photo of the shape and length I wanted (coffin shaped, medium length) and instead got rounded corners and my nails were all different lengths. Even my boyfriend who knows nothing about nails or "trends" asked "wtf is wrong with your nails" when he saw them. I could not wait to soak them off. When I had them soaked off, there was a DEEP dent in my nails from where he filed way too much. Majority of these reviews are either fake or paid for because there is no way so many people have a positive experience here. Do some digging and find the negative reviews that are constant getting drowned out by suspicious glowing reviews. Save your self the headache and go literally anywhere else. read more

I am in love with this nail salon. I was not happy with the place I had been going to get my nails done and so I wanted to try somewhere new and it was beyond my expectations. The staff was so kind and attentive. I waited no longer than 10 minutes. They really focus on quality not quantity and it shows. I went to two different techs here and they both were so skilled and made my nails look absolutely gorgeous. I was so impressed with how my nails turned out. Jimmy (?) did my nails. This was my first time there. I was only supposed to get a pedicure and I planned to do my gel nails at home like I usually do because honestly, I do them better myself and somehow I got talked into doing a gel manicure there too. After being a loyal client for nearly two years, my recent encounter was appalling. On December 26, 2024, Anya canceled my fill-in appointment due to illness, which I understood. However, her dismissive and hostile response when I tried to reschedule was unprofessional and rude. When I reached out about my nails lifting and needing urgent attention, Anya's reply was focused on her personal situation rather than my needs. After escalating the issue to the owner, I was contacted by someone named Maggie, who they claimed was the salon manager yet for the 1 1/2 years I was there never had I heard of said manager nor a manager existing at all. Conveniently enough magically, there was a manager to handle my complaint when I contacted the Abby. Maggie messaged me who not only refused to offer a solution but also told me I was no longer a "fit" for the salon. This unprofessional dismissal ended my long-standing relationship with them, and I was left without the services I had already paid for. What was worse, there is a toxic, "mean girl" atmosphere at this salon. The staff is fake to your face and talks behind your back. They make the client out to be in the wrong falsely implied that I had made unreasonable demands in the past, which is not the case. I have text messages to proof my assertion, Instead of taking responsibility for the subpar service, Anya deflected and failed to offer a constructive solution. They stick together, no matter who is in the wrong. If a client voices a legitimate concern, the staff shuts them down, and as soon as any complaint arises, they retaliate by refusing service. This entire ordeal caused significant emotional distress and financial loss, as I had to seek another salon for repairs at extra cost and inconvenience. I was never offered a chance to resolve the issue, nor was I compensated for my losses. If you're considering this salon, be cautious. The lack of professionalism, the toxic environment, and how they treat their clients is unacceptable. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Sugarcoat Nail Loft.

If I could choose more than 5 stars, I would!! I'm so happy with this salon and so glad I found them! The salon itself is so clean, which makes the entire experience very pleasant, and everyone who works there is super friendly. Thankfully they are patient with me when I can't decide which color I want and they even make perfect suggestions to help me decide. I'm never disappointed!!! I feel wonderful when I walk out after my nails are done. I just love how fun Jessie and Ha are, at the same time as being highly professional. They are so good at what they do, so I will definitely keep going back for a very long time because I know I can expect that I will leave there feeling great with a perfect manicure each time! ***Nov.17 update: I've now been back about three times now which pretty much makes me a regular. By far the best nail salon in the area. Let me start by saying I'm extremely picky. I've been looking for a shop not too far from my house for months that I actually like and decided to stop in here on a whim. I was greeted as soon as I walked in the door. The decor is pretty and welcoming. I was seen by Tony and not only did my nails exactly the way I wanted them but he was extremely funny and had me cracking up the entire time. A woman who I assume was the owner came by and chatted with me for a bit and made sure everything was going well. Great customer service and a very clean environment. I started coming to Jessie shortly after the salon opened. She is probably the best nail tech I have ever had. She removed my acrylics and helped me get my nails grown out and they look great!! She is very particular about her work and a perfectionist when in comes to polishing. Ha does my daughter's nails and is also fabulous at what she does.
