These guys are a lifesaver. I'm so grateful for this delightful pizza tonight! If you are in a pinch or too tired to cook, make this your go to!

We had driven by this place a number of times and we stopped on a Sunday afternoon. It was a pleasure to see see a "salad bar" and actually eat from one. The pizza and breadsticks were yummy. Worth the stop if traveling down highway 30.

Their Italian sub, looks like it was made from leftover pizza ingredients...

The worst "Italian Sub" I've ever had. Should have trusted my first impression and left, when I first walk in. Prices seemed high but thought I'd give them a try since I was hungry and on the road. always trust your gut, especially when it comes to food. Really a bad experience.

Bartender was mean and nasty and I do not want to go back. Bad vibe and ambiance. Wouldn't stop in if I was passing through again.

The pizza is always great! I would venture to say it rivals some of the wood fired pizzas I've had in Astoria. Fresh hand thrown crust!

What a quaint restaurant with its rustic decor and knotty pine walls. There were lots of pictures on the walls pertaining to the logging industry and a few antiques mixed in also. The menu had a wide variety of choices too. My husband ordered the Reuben sandwich with onion rings and I ordered a Patty melt with coleslaw. Our waitress, Marissa, was attentive and friendly. We expected the sandwiches to be huge and these were enormous! We could have split one easily. I immediately set half of mine aside to take home. My husband ate all of his, and shared some onion rings with me. I loved the creamy coleslaw, and it was also a nice sized portion. The Patty melt was served on the same thick swirled rye bread as the Reuben. There were lots of freshly cooked caramelized onions on my sandwich and the beef patty was thick and cooked perfectly. We had no room for dessert, but those homemade pies were very tempting. They also serve milkshakes in about a dozen different flavors. No one would ever leave this restaurant hungry! Plenty of food for man-sized appetites! Not only that, but we noticed that there was parking space out back set aside for loggers to park their big rigs when they dine there. There was plenty of room to turn around, and we made note of that in case we stop during when we are towing our camping trailer. Great food and exceptional service always makes for a very pleasant dining experience!

Such a great place to stop and enjoy beer or beer tasting!…read more They offer flights of 4 from the on tap selection which changes frequently depending on the season. There's so much seating in front, inside at the bar, inside at the nook rooms (it's a house converted to a tap room), as well are more outside seating on the side and in the back! The barstools are lovely and heavy. So sturdy and comfortable for being iron and wood. The service is always friendly and welcoming, offering suggestions and will go out of their way to try and locate a beer if you were looking for something specific (they may just have more in stock in their storage area so don't be afraid to ask if you want a beer that you don't see in the coolers for can/bottle purchase). This is just a great place to relax and enjoy! There's food trucks next door but I'm not sure what their hours are. I was there Sunday in the afternoon and the food trucks were closed. But you can bring in outside food anyway and don't have to rely on just those trucks.

It's not big...less than a dozen tables inside, there is outdoor seating, and when the weather is nice I bet it's a great place to be on a warm summer evening. Right on the water, with views of the boats. Ilwaco itself is a bit of a dungy town, but this place offers some delicious dishes, and the ambience is cozy, & romantic. We were immediately seated, as we were the only ones at the restaurant on this cold, wet PNW day. We both ordered a cup of their crab bisque. Delicious. It really hit the spot, and warmed up our cold bones. What I really liked about it was it wasn't too salty! Both my husband and I added a bit of salt and that elevated the flavor, but I liked that the chef didn't over salt it, and gave me the choice of how much sodium I wanted to add. My husband wished he had ordered a bowl. It is delightful, flavorful and a decent amount of crab in it, as well. (I enjoyed it so much, I forgot to take a picture of it!!) The chef really knows his stuff and has a great flavor profile on the menu. My husband ordered the Helm Burger with tots. He gave them two thumbs up. The burger patty looked fresh homemade, as opposed to frozen bought at Costco. It was a decent size, & thick and juicy. With the addition of bacon to it, he was greatly satisfied. I ordered the Deckhand. Let me tell you, this was a delicious sandwich! The pork is tender and juicy, the sauce is sweet but not overly so. The picked added a wonderful crispy texture along with the sweetness of the caramelized onions....it was a tastebud explosion. So good. And so filling. I had to take 1/2 home and was a bit annoyed when I found my husband ate it the next day for lunch! I guess that just means I'll have to go back sooner than later to order it again. I'd like to also mention that the tater tots were perfectly fried and crispy! The waitress from friendly and attentive and the chef was sweet and so pleased with our compliments. Don't wait a moment longer. Get yourself to Ilwaco and check this gem of a place out! You won't be disappointed.

I arrived in the later hours of the night on Thanksgiving day to an absolute dumping of rain. Old Astoria Pizza was one of the few places open at this hour, let alone on Thanksgiving Day. I was so hungry. The man taking orders is a great host and I presume the owner. He is dedicated to understanding and getting your food just how you want. He then hand makes the dough and hand twists the outer crust before firing the ready pizza (I think wood fired?!). This is the best pizza I have ever had. He is so kind to customers, I've seen him giving extra food/candies to the children who come in (with approval from parents). I've seen him draw a diagram at the counter of the toppings a customer wanted to make sure it's 100% correct. You can tell he cares about his customers and his craft, and it shows. The food is amazing. The service is impeccable. It feels cozy inside. No other place is worth missing out!!!!

It wasn't busy when we arrived, but a rush hit right after we ordered, and things went downhill from there. Our pizzas took over an hour, and we got a bit forgotten about in the chaos. Staff were apologetic, which we appreciated, but by the time the food came out most of us had lost our appetite, thankfully it was a to go order. The pizza itself was okay, though the crust came out burnt. A nice bonus: live piano from next door drifted in while we waited, which helped the mood. It felt like a string of bad luck more than a reflection of the place; we'd consider giving it another shot.
