recently stopped by after seeing this place on TikTok and decided to give it a try. When I walked in, there were two customers ahead of me, and I let them know it was my first visit. The shop has a nice aesthetic with music playing, but it's located in a small mini parking lot and can be easy to miss. I ordered half a dozen cronuts and a large iced coffee. I didn't realize the cronuts are priced per unit -- ranging from $6-$7 each -- and the drink was also a bit pricey, so the total adds up quickly. The flavors were absolutely delicious. However, I do think the price per donut is a bit steep and could reasonably come down by a dollar or two. Customer service was okay overall. It's a cute spot with great pastries, just more of a treat-yourself stop due to the pricing.

The store is cute with insta decorations. Alex is speedy and very informative about their items. Kronuts are fluffy, not greasy. Highly recommend

01/14/25 A small store in a strip right next to 7-11. I was greeted by both employees working. The girl who helped me was very nice and patient with me while I tried to make hard decisions. First time visiting but recently had a kronut. It was my last day of work last week and my coworker bought some donuts from here. I tried the strawberry kronut and MY OH MY. Where have you been all my life?! I loved it so much that I had to get it again! Filled with slices of strawberry with what tastes like whipped creamed cheese with a strawberry jam mixed in and topped with powdered sugar. It's sooooooo good. I also tried the Nutella kronut. This was a perfect treat to satisfy a chocolate craving. The main thing about these kronuts is that they're not overly sweet. Like they don't use a lot of sugar. It was just the perfect amount of sweet. You have to try it to understand lol I also got a Vietnamese iced coffee. This was amazing as well. Overall 10/10. Will definitely be back!

Coffee and donuts are soooo fire! The service is exceptional, with friendly, happy staff. Calm vibe with two tables and a sitting spot. Thank you, Knead!!! Can't wait to return.

Great donuts and friendly service. They are a bit pricey but very special. Creative and very tasty, worth it for a special treat! They also make great Viet Coffee and Boba drinks! Today was just a special donut run! So many great flavors to choose from! Everyone I picked was a big hit with the family! We split several to try more flavors! Guava Cream, prettiest donut and so good. Dubai Chocolate Cronut, the priciest of the six, very messy and yummy, and had some strawberries inside. Who doesn't like Dubai Chocolate and together with a cronut? Definitely a winner. I personally loved the Nutella and this one I didn't share, another messy but so tasty! Berry Cronut was devoured by husband, he was late to the party! Thumbs up. Cinnamon bun and Apple Fritter is saved for tomorrow. Knead has very fresh and creative donuts. Been there many times, consistently great! It's nice to see them expand. There is a new Long Beach in Signal Hill, near Costco. The PCH/Clark location is closest to home, although I patronize both!

The donuts here have rich and fluffy textures. Love my strawberry one. Knead Donuts & Tea 5105 Pacific Coast Hwy, Long Beach, CA 90804

Their food is not cover up in a proper glass container , I walked in and saw a fly flying and landing on the donuts on the left told the owner and he acts like he doesn't care , made me want to throw up i cant eat that and would never eat that until he fixes and actually contains his food and not let it sit out

Soooo yummy! My favorite viet coffee, sweet and strong. The sexy red donut and the biscoff cronut to die for. Always great service!

tl;dr the eclectic array of ambitious (and pricey) donuts can feel overwhelming -- but a piping hot tiger tail is a safe and satisfying bet Los Angeles is a donut town through and through, but plenty of LA's most talked-about donuts are outside of the city proper. One such spot is the family-owned-and-operated Knead Donuts & Tea, a trendy Long Beach bakery just a few minutes south of Pacific Coast Highway. The ambitious flavors -- think pastelito de guayaba-inspired croissant donuts or Remy Martin-infused rings -- fuel one of the city's most picturesque Instagram feeds and attract visitors across Southern California. From the street, Knead's enormous backlit sign eclipses an otherwise diminutive shack. Inside, the inviting shop has pops of Cambodian flair, from the temple incorporated into the logo to Buddhist icons intermixed among the houseplants and framed accolades. On the weekend, expect to witness staff members hard at work preparing fresh donuts, as fresh trays keep coming out of the kitchen even late into the morning. No music plays -- only the chatter between staff and regulars echoes around the narrow room. My partner and I visited on a weekend morning, and we were immediately offered to begin our order with piping-hot Tiger Tail fresh out of the fryer (I was impressed by the courtesy, as plenty of other tiger tails were already sitting out on the display case). We ended up getting 4 donuts. The aforementioned tiger tail was the highlight: I was most impressed by the crispy, funnel cake-esque texture of sugar folded within a pillowy, forearm-sized package. Meanwhile, the gorgeous Guava Cream Cheese sported a light, flaky croissant donut base, although I found the rich flavor swirl to be more cream cheese-y than guava-forward. Knead's Maple Bacon was also enjoyable; the flavor profile was notably smoky, and I appreciated the even distribution of crispy bacon bits and thick icing. Only the Creme Brulee donut was a true dud; the thin crisp of glazed sugar and subtly vanilla-flavored filling were both muted and forgettable. The staff was efficient and inviting, and the donuts were enjoyable overall. Nonetheless, our $25 bill made me raise my eyebrows. Even at their best, Knead's donuts are better described as "unique" than "exceptional". And for $5+ per donut, I wouldn't be a regular even if I lived in the neighborhood. Still, the whimsical mashups are a fun option for the adventurous donut lover.

How we, the donuts were on the ok side, we may be biased because we are faithful to our local donut shop but this place will hit when you're craving something sweet. We also ordered their cronut holes which looked great, however it was interesting to say the least, there was an odd taste to the donut glaze (maybe it's their signature flavor) but it tasted almost like hard candy..idk how to really explain it lol. But overall sweet for us, maybe next time we would pair it with a black coffee to off set the sweetness from the cronuts.

Actual coffee and donuts are 3/5, though. Not bad but not great either. (The flavors are very, very mild.) Definitely overpriced for what you get (or maybe the mom and pop places are underpriced? And we need more whimsy in this world. Maybe that's all that matters. They definitely need a better menu system, though. 0/5 for the menu system because sharing single little laminated sheets with everyone in line is kinda ridiculous lol. (I have decision paralysis... And you don't even get access to the limited edition menu until you're at the front!) Am I dumb or do they not even have a menu on their website? It's also kinda crazy because everything else in the store is thoughtfully designed and placed but their menus are little laminated sheets resting flat on top of the donut display. Please fix that.

I got lucky- It was about a half hour before closing and there were no other customers. Cute little place! I was helped by Ilyas, the manager. What a stellar individual! I told him it was my first time, and my preferences (not big on frosting, but like interesting flavor combos) and he walked me through the different types. I was happily surprised to see that they carried some traditional donuts as well as the frosted themed ones! I found that this shop was related to Simones donuts which is a great business! They even do cookie tins and caramels. A couple of the special edition donuts looked so decadent and flavorful but more like a dessert that I commented. He then brought out for me one that was a brand new item and it sounded perfect- a sugar donut topped with strawberry mascarpone encircling a pandan center and I had to get it. He even let me have my themed matcha donut without the fancy little emblem for $1 less! So nice. Those, with a biscoff donut and a logo pin completed my purchase. The pandan topping was sweet but the mascarpone was reminiscent of a strawberry yogurt and the flavors blended perfectly. The other donuts were huge, fluffy and perfectly textured. I would have liked a stronger biscoff and matcha strawberry flavor in those crumbles but at least they were not sweet! Just delicious. The prices are fairly high but I will definitely stop by occasionally to see what delicious creations they are whipping up and get myself a treat!

At Long Beach's Sweet Retreat Donuts, that meant limited-edition experimental donut varieties (mostly with tropical flavor profiles), as well as a reliable vegan donut lineup. Clearly, Sweet Retreat has been doing something right, as it's been a Pacific Coast Highway favorite for a decade. Over the years, it has garnered recognition from plenty of local news outlets, from Eater LA to LAist. The cramped strip mall is more eye-catching for its reptile supply store rather than its donut shop. Inside the shop, the expansive, donut-themed cartoon mural to the right immediately makes a statement. Houseplants are plentiful across the otherwise undecorated, whitewashed walls. Donuts are organized on trays by price, with the charge doodled directly onto the glass with a white marker. Ambient noise from the television is drowned out by chattering customers and the buzzing coffee machine. During the summer months, the AC-less shop feels tropically balmy. My partner and I arrived at Sweet Retreat late one Sunday morning, and the shop still boasted a steady stream of customers. By the time of our visit, the remaining selection was regrettably slim -- beyond the standard fare, the most unique donuts sported either candy coating or tropical frosting. We opted for a hibiscus-frosted raised donut and an apple fritter. The former had an excellent donut base, and the hibiscus frosting was floral and tropical (albiet I would have enjoyed a more punchy flavor). Meanwhile, the apple fritter fell on the cinnamon-y side, heavily doused in glaze so that each bite (even the edges) melted in your mouth; Sweet Retreat's rendition was one of my favorites in Greater LA. Our Vietnamese iced coffee was strong and sugary, but nothing more memorable than peer coffeeshops. The service was efficient, and our two donuts cost a reasonable $5 (even frill-free mom-and-pop shops charge in this range nowadays). The selection was sorely lacking, but Sweet Retreat more than made up for that with its high quality and reasonable prices. This bakery may not warrant a dedicated trip out of the way, but it is sure to deliver a satisfying treat if you're already in the neighborhood.

I'm unclear what occurred before I got there, but kept my head down and quickly parked and scurried inside. The entrance had cardboard on the ground laid out like some sort of Oscar the Grouch red carpet. While she used appropriate tongs to put them in the box, she didn't bother to fully close or seal the box. Just looking to get out of there as quickly as possible, I headed immediately back to my car but was followed by an unknown man shouting at me asking if I could spare a dollar. I quickly fidgeted for my keys and pulled the door closed and locked it behind me. This was at 9am. I cannot imagine this place late at night. The donuts were basic and not overly sweet, more of a fried bread. My kids ate a few bites of each but it wasn't worth the stress of getting them.

It's good. I like it better than other places I've been to. The donuts aren't soggy or oily, they…read moretasted fresh! The blended ice coffee is really good! We also had a breakfast croissant and it was good too.
