Knight's in downtown Ann Arbor is a great place to go for a steak dinner. The prices are mid-range and very reasonable for a steakhouse. We've been here several times, and it's always a solid choice for a date night. The interior is modern and comfortable, and they have a bar area with TVs. The dress code is pretty casual, and seating includes a mix of tables and booths. The wait staff was friendly and attentive, and the drinks were good. My husband ordered a mule--he liked it, though he still prefers their Dark and Stormy. I ordered a non-alcoholic drink and had them add rum; it turned out tropical, fruity, and really enjoyable. If you're not looking to drink alcohol, they do offer a nice selection of NA beverages. For dinner, my husband got the prime rib, which he said was excellent, and he thinks their mashed potatoes are the best. I ordered the au gratin potatoes, which were very good, and the risotto. The risotto was just okay for me--not my favorite--but overall the meal was enjoyable. We'll definitely be back again.

Came in for dinner, I had the 6oz filet mignon, Yukon mashed potatoes, and veggies. The food I would give a 4/10. My steak was flavorful, the mashed potatoes were plain, the veggies appeared boiled and had zero flavor. I had a pomegranate martini cocktail, I'd rate that 7/10. Our server was very nice. The atmosphere was loud, there's games on the TV at the bar. Will I return? No.

Was pretty disappointed. The calamari was too salty, the sauce tasted a little strange and it wasn't as crunchy as I wished since there was too much sauce. The steak and vegetables were all unseasoned, the steak also tasted burnt and was not tender. The cocktails did not taste that great either. I found it surprising how high the dishes were priced considering the quality of the food wasn't satisfactory.

We had dinner at Knight's on a Sunday night following an event. I have mixed feelings after my first visit. We started with the Seafood Tower for an appetizer. Everyone at the table enjoyed this. I thought it needed more flavor. It did have dollops of hot sauce, which helped. For dinner I had the smaller New York strip. My steak was very good. It was cooked perfectly. I forgot to order an "enhancement". The dinner came with a cup of soup. I chose the cream of mushroom, which was very good. Prices are on the expensive side (my steak was $32 for 8oz). The service was friendly, but painfully slow on this night. We waited forever to order. And, looking around the room, we were not the only ones waiting. It was over 30 minutes for my wife to get a glass of wine. The meal was much longer than expected. The atmosphere felt an upscale take on an English pub. There is a bar in the middle of the room with various tables and booths. A few tvs has the Michigan hockey game (appreciated), but not a sports bar by any means. I would give this place another go.

Got a reservation so no problem with getting a seat. We were greeted and immediately seated. Ethan was our server and he did an excellent job! I tried both the Mussel sausage gumbo and Black and Blue pork chops. Both were excellent. The whole staff there really hustles to keep the restaurant clean and strive to make all the customers happy. I am so glad I was able to come back and enjoy another excellent meal at Knight's Ann Arbor Downtown.

Favorite place in A2 thus far. We moved from Chicago about a month ago and I have been on the hunt for what will be our go-to spot. So far Knights is it. We've been many times for just drinks- the dirty martinis are amazing. Lunch once- I got the burger and my husband got the Cajun chicken pasta. Both were delicious and fairly priced. I'm a burger fan and this is the best one I've had in Ann Arbor yet- I've tried 4-5 since we moved here. Dinner- we are big ribeye fans so decided to split the larger one. We each got a salad and the kitchen split the dish for us. This might sound like it's not a big deal but it makes the experience so much better. The blue cheese chips were addicting- I wouldn't get them every time for the two of us because it's a very large portion. The ribeye was cooked perfectly, veggies were flavorful and soft, and the Mac and cheese is a side we'll get again. Overall- Knights is a fan favorite in our household and we look forward to many more visits.

A peek inside the bright and open restaurant.

What a delightful and FUN evening!…read more First time at this steakhouse. It was a party of four celebrating my birthday. As soon as we approached the front of the restaurant, I immediately felt like living back in Chicago. As we stepped inside and I took a look around, it hit me. Walking into this steakhouse feels like stepping into a vintage Chicago steakhouse/speakeasy. The doors open to the faint, unmistakable scent of charcoal-seared prime beef, aged bourbon, and pipe tobacco. Dim, moody lighting glints off polished brass fixtures and Art Deco geometric paneling, setting an atmosphere of unmistakable luxury. It wowed me. It has been a full year since I experienced this. This steakhouse is the pinnacle of indulgent dining, characterized by impeccable hospitality, expertly crafted dishes, and an atmosphere of refined luxury. It seamlessly blends the finest cuts of premium, dry-aged beef with white-tablecloth elegance and a sophisticated, but fun ambiance. Interiors feature dark wood paneling, rich leathers, brass accents, and low, warm lighting to create an intimate and timeless setting. White-Glove Service: The waitstaff are highly trained professionals who anticipate your every need. Tables feature crisp linen, heavy silverware, and polished glasses. The Bar: The focal point of the room is often an expansive, classic bar featuring a world-class cocktail program. Signature drinks include bone-dry martinis and perfectly balanced Old Fashioneds. Reminiscent of a top-tier Chicago steakhouse! The menu selection is fantastic, and the staff is wonderfully synchronized with a keen eye for the little details. Everyone at our table was wowed and completely satisfied. The lower level cigar lounge had tremendous atmosphere and it was the perfect way to finish the night. Highly recommended you try this place. Let me tell you a bit more about La Dolce Vita & Cigar Lounge. This cigar lounge is an adjoining gourmet dessert and cigar lounge. It allows you to wrap up your evening with fine wines, single malt scotches, and hand-rolled cigars, even featuring elaborate, over-the-top desserts like their molten "Candy Bar Bomb". I will write another review soon because we will be back. I will also update the review and share all the great food and all the appetizers drinks and desserts that we had on my awesome birthday dinner! So stay tuned ;) ALSO I want to give kudos to the gal that deboned my Dover Sole, after dinner we headed down to the cigar lounge and she asked me how was my meal and she was very polite and professional it made me smile that she took the time to confirm how I felt about the Dover Sole. The details added up throughout the evening.

Stopped in for lunch today, we ordered the tuna on sourdough and a turkey Reuben and a local IPA. Sandwiches were fine but the fries were absolutely horrible. Cold, chewy and uneatable. They tasted like they were made the two day ms before and left under a heat lamp overnight. A nightmare for our tastebuds. The waiter never returned to check on us so we decided to just forget them and finish the sandwiches. It was after 1 pm the bar was mostly empty so it wasn't a busy place. Eventually the waiter came with the check and we told him about the fries and he shrugged his shoulders and said it was maybe the cooking oil. No, they were ice cold. He offered to send out a new order of fries but we were done with our meal and had enough. Asked the waiter to at least take them back to the kitchen to let them know but he didn't do it. Asked we walked to our car, two kitchen staff were relaxing by the back door, taking a smoke break. Post Covid Ann Arbor restaurant service has declined but Casey's really have/had the best fries in town. Hope the get back on track.

The smaller plates and dessert ranged from good to absolutely stellar, but the heavier main courses left a lot to be desired. Service was very excellent and the ambiance was a perfect place to spend a Sunday afternoon. The Standouts (5/5) Goxua: Absolute perfection. This dessert was phenomenal, beautifully executed, and easily the highlight of the entire meal. Do not leave without ordering it! Patatas Bravas: Stellar. Perfectly crispy on the outside, fluffy inside, and the sauce was spot on. Tuna Tapas: Served with shallot and serrano. Incredibly fresh, beautifully balanced, and another major win for the table. The Middle of the Road (3/5 - 4/5) Katsu Tapas: Quite good (4/5), with solid execution and great texture. Croquetas: Just okay (3/5). They lacked that rich, distinct flavor you usually look for in a traditional croqueta. The Disappointments (2/5) Turkey/Chicken Meatballs: A big miss. They were noticeably under-seasoned and lacked depth. Señorito Paella: For a dish that should be a showstopper, this was very underwhelming. It was light on the seafood, and the overall flavor profile was just lacking. Overall Verdict: Go for the drinks, stick to the top-tier tapas (the Patatas Bravas and tuna), and make sure you save room for the Goxua. Skip the meatballs and the paella.

The buffet had a wonderful variety of food, the mimosas and cocktails were delicious, and for the quality, variety, and service you get, the price point is very fair. I left thoroughly impressed. I came back for lunch excited to experience it again, and while the staff was just as warm and the environment just as great, however, this time the lunch menu didn't quite live up to my expectations. They offer salads, sandwiches, mac and cheese and similar American-style comfort food, which is totally fine, but for a restaurant of this caliber I was hoping for something a little more exciting. I ended up ordering a salad with added shrimp, which was absolutely delicious, and a pomegranate rosemary lemonade that was incredibly refreshing - perfect for a summer day-. But if you're not in the mood for sandwiches, salads, or mac and cheese, your options are pretty limited. My suggestion: keep doing everything you're doing because the hospitality and atmosphere are truly special, but consider expanding the lunch and dinner menu for those looking for a heartier or more diverse meal.
