The seating and items on the wall were fine. Neat to see some of the sports games playing. They had a claw machine game in the middle that had money in it! Up to $100! BUT... then when you look at the fine print it is just fake. One customer said he spent money and got it, but then learned it was fake after wasting money on a prize that wasn't real. I dont like that type of misleading presentation. We ate a Philly cheesesteak and a BLATT (bacon, lettuce, avocado, turkey, tomato). For the price the cheesesteak was smaller than I expected, especially not including any type of side with it. The bread was warm and soft, but the meat was slightly dry. The BLATT has the different size option for meat and the mid size was ordered, but it seemed like the only meat that increased was just the turkey leaving my wife wanting more bacon in it as well. It was alright as one time try but not sure if we will be back.

We were looking for something a little different and I found Knuckle Sandwich on Yelp. The menu looked pretty good so we decided to try it, since it was only a few miles from the house. The portions were huge and the service was pretty fast. The atmosphere is casual and very Chicago oriented. (I'm from Chicago but it's weird to find it in Mesa) anyway the food was good and I'd come back again. Only drawback: if you've read any of my reviews at all, you'll know where this is going: Pepsi products. Bleh...

Very friendly staff. Clean place. Cole slaw was a bit on the tangy side but still good. Ordered the pastrami knockout (9oz) of meat with Swiss and mustard (no mayo as that would be sacrilegious). The sandwich was a knockout, the meat was super lean with a great taste. We had a garden salad which was huge.

We decided to get sandwiches from knuckle today based on the great reviews. We tried them about 4 years ago when they first opened and they were good. Although the sandwich was tasty, I was finishing up my first half, only to feel something strange in my mouth. Sure enough, it was a hair. And this is not mine because it was inside the sandwich and I bit into it. I also have curly hair. I'm very disappointed. I hope this will be noted so it doesn't happen to other people in the future. I of course will be throwing out the rest.

Holy moly where do I start? These sandwiches were M A S S I V E. High quality meats and toppings. It's a popular spot and is sometimes difficult to find seating. Soooo many sandwiches to try. The sides were just meh, but honestly, you won't have room for them anyway!

Knuckle sandwich is hands-down the best sandwich shop in the east Valley! They make all their meats in house - no "cold cuts "here. The turkey is carved straight from one of the fresh birds they roast every morning, and the ham comes in generous chunks from the several hams they cook daily. The freshness doesn't stop there - every sandwich is served on a bakery refresh roll that are soft, flavorful, and the perfect compliment to the fillings. You can taste the caring quality in every bite. I highly recommend this place and can't wait to come back and try every single sandwich on the menu!

This is a very nice place to grab a meal. Be advised they stop serving breakfast at 1030, which is too bad because they had some very good dishes on the menu. So we ended up having lunch which was very good. The Reuben sandwich with pastrami was very good. The chicken salad sandwich was also a winner. The staff was super friendly and were the ones that recommended the sandwiches... winner! The menu was pretty entertaining too. They had cute names for the different dishes. They also have "diabetic cookies" which were good.

6/7/25: Short version - drove 30 miles to try Knuckle Sandwiches and we would do it again. Very color restaurant inside, pretty wide patio (no misters), fun artwork & decor, and quite a few tables for customers (but not crammed together). Long version - the gal behind the counter (sorry for not catching her name) was extremely upbeat & friendly, she started right in being all helpful with bread choices, describing the sammy sizes, and offering advice when asked "coleslaw or regular potato salad?" She said coleslaw & it was a good choice. It was the creamy type, not the vinegary type. My sister enjoyed the German potato salad. I ordered the steak sub (sans onions), sister went with the heavyweight (three kinds of meat). Both came with a large, crunchy pickle quarter. The steak sub was loaded with meat that was well seasoned, and had just the right about of mushrooms, and a scooch of the horseradish sauce (just like the gal said it was so kudos to her again). :-) Everything was reasonably priced, too. I would take a Knuckle Sandwich over those other larger brand name sandwiches any day.

It was our first visit to Knuckle Sandwiches. There were eight people in our group. Ladies at the cash registers asked if we were new to the establishment and I said yes, and they were very helpful showing us the menu and explaining everything. The picture shows a Dagwood sandwich and a patty melt with cream of potato soup. In our group, we had a variety of sandwiches. The roast beef sandwich with provolone was given a very high reading by one of the people in our group. The chicken salad was ordered by three people, and all of them agreed that it was delicious and a lot of food for the money. Everyone in the group was very satisfied with their order. We will definitely be going back to Knuckle Sandwiches!!

I was at Bashas next door and decides to stop in for a sandwich. I've had their Ceaser Salad with chicken before and it was good but nothing special but it's salad. Their chocolate cake and Zucchini bread are great choices for a sweet tooth. My son liked the pasta salad and I enjoyed their sandwiches. Portion was big and filling The staff was average no one went above or beyond but at least they were courteous. I like the decor and it's got plenty of seating.

I had the BLT with no bacon. Really tasty a little dry but really tasty. I would order again with mayo. This was a delivery order

Do you offer gluten free bread?

    Yes we do.

Is this Keto friendly? Can I get sandwiches in a lettuce wraps? Can I get fruit, etc. Instead of chips or Fry's?

Goldman's Deli Where Your Soul and Your Stomach Both Get Hugged…read more If comfort food had a headquarters, it might very well be Goldman's Deli. Walk through the door and suddenly you're not just hungry you're home. The smells alone could make a grown person misty-eyed. Now let's talk about the pastrami. Lean, tender, and stacked so generously you start wondering if the sandwich needs its own zip code. One bite and you understand why people keep coming back. Two bites and you're already planning your next visit. The soups? Forget therapy have a bowl. Rich, comforting, and restorative. The kind of soup that makes you feel like somewhere in the kitchen a grandmother is quietly nodding with approval. And then there's the gefilte fish. Not the ordinary, polite little slice. This one is special delicate, flavorful, and downright magnificent. Even people who say, "Eh... I'm not sure about gefilte fish," suddenly become believers. There's a little schmaltz, a lot of love, and the unmistakable magic of real Jewish deli cooking. Eat there, take some home, and tell your friends because food this good shouldn't be kept a secret. So I trecked 5 miles out of my way to Goldman's (when Chompie's was just a mile away --frankly I don't know why I didn't think about chompies) I ordered the chopped chicken liver appetizer which comes with slices of tomato, a piece of lettuce, slice of red onion, and challah bread. I paid $15.01 for this platter (lol) without a tip for a small scoop of the liver. Just look at the photo. I was shocked to see how small it was. I thought that with a base price of $13.99 that the scoop would be bigger or at least the same size as in the past when it was $9.99. The challah bread was yellow but did not take like challah. Yellow bread slices do not delicious challah bread make--no yeasty flavor as any good challah would have. So here I am regretting that I didn't give chompie's a try. I can assure you that I will not be returning to Goldman's. I know ingredients have gone up but this price for such a small scoop is an affront to the wallet.

Before I even took a bite, I was sold on the people. I walked in and was greeted by one of the nicest guys I've met in a long time. We got to talking, and he mentioned they've been family-owned and operated for 45 years. Mom, brother... the whole family. You can tell this isn't just a business; it's part of the neighborhood. That alone made me want to come back. Now, onto the important part: the food. I ordered The Tony, exactly as they intended it. No modifications, no "well, I usually..." I wanted the true baseline experience before I started adding banana peppers and making questionable executive decisions. Excellent choice. The bread deserves its own review. It was perfectly soft without falling apart, and somehow managed to hold together despite the very generous amount of meat. Speaking of which... if you're a meat lover, you're going to be thrilled. They definitely don't skimp. I actually lean more toward veggies, so next time I might ask for light meat... not because it needed it, but because I needed it. I'd happily pay the same price because the portion was incredibly generous. Everything was fresh, balanced, and exactly what I hoped a neighborhood deli sandwich would be. I also grabbed the strawberry cheesecake. It was good, though the sandwich definitely stole the show. I was secretly hoping to try the rice pudding, but apparently they don't make it during the summer. My disappointment is temporary. My return visit this winter is already mentally scheduled. Overall? Fantastic food, genuinely kind people, and the kind of family-run place that's becoming harder and harder to find. This is absolutely going into my regular lunch rotation. Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be counting down the days until rice pudding season.

The sandwiches coming out of the kitchen looked fantastic, and there are plenty of pasta dishes and traditional Italian entrées available as well. We didn't order a hot meal on this visit, but we'll definitely be back to try one. The market section is also worth browsing. They carry a wide selection of pastas, sauces, olive oils, canned tomatoes, and other Italian staples. My only suggestion would be to expand the specialty pasta selection with options like squid ink, spinach, or roasted red pepper varieties. Of course, we couldn't leave without visiting the bakery case. We brought home an assortment of Italian cookies, a black and white cookie, a Napoleon, chocolate cannolis, and a brownie. The brownie was the one item that didn't impress us, but everything else was delicious and tasted fresh. One thing to be aware of is parking. The lot is quite small, and both we and several other customers ended up parking across the street. It's not necessarily something the business can control, but it's worth mentioning if you're visiting during a busy time. The fact that this shop has been around for decades says a lot about the quality and loyal customer base they've built over the years.
