Its always my go to when I'm craving Korean food and don't want to have to sit down somewhere and either cook it myself. This place is fire and I really wish there was a location in Berkeley so I could visit more often. The shop was so cute and verryy clean and I appreciated how short and sweet the menu was because I take forever to pick what I want. I ordered a combo cup which was $9 and came with a choice of 2 proteins (I chose Korean chicken bites with grilled ribeye beef bulgogi), rice, lettuce, sweet corn, pickled radish slices, and glass noodles. The bowl was filled to the brim with food and the employees (incredibly warm and sweet people) let me get little containers of each of the sauces they provide. It tasted pretty good, like simple and hearty street food, which was exactly what I was expecting and looking for when I came here. It's a cute little restaurant but amazing outdoor area were you can just sit and relax around the fountain especially on a beautiful day. Ko cups is located right in the center of the veranda park. its location has a ton of seating (outside) there are about 4 seats inside the actual place with a small bar like table. the outside seating has a view of the whole veranda so! To order, you come up and pay first and then they serve your food to you. They have several different cups to try for just $8 & there was even a combo cup for $9 that you get to choose two different meats if you wanted to. each cup comes with veggies, corn, noodles, rice of your choice ( white or brown ) and the meat you selected depending what cup you got. you can add things to your cup like how we added egg to our ( $1 extra ) They also have some very unique canned carbonated drinks. so far we have tried the cherry blossom, mango, calamansi, and watermelon one. my favorite would be the mango and cherry blossom ones. They have a selection of sauces to choose from and most of them are considered to be "mayo" like. I love the sauces personally and they definitely add some great taste to the dish. My favorite cup is the K-Cup, which is the sweet and spicy chicken ( not really spicy at all which is good for me coz i cant handle spicy haha ) my boyfriend got the P-Cup (spicy pork) both times. next time we want to try the combo. We have gone here twice already and staff is always friendly. The first time we came, i believe he is the manager, helped us order by letting us know the popular dishes and was very informative on the menu and even drinks and sauces. Decided to come out today and try it and quite frankly I haven't tasted food this good since Koreana and Walnut Creek went out of business. My husband had the ribeye steak bowl. Honestly, the quality of the food tasted like the some of the food I'd get at the shacks on campus (before they were called bougie food trucks). Chicken was rubbery and over-sauced with teriyaki (?). Vegetables were fresh but bland. Serving size was plentiful, but that's not a plus when the food is not great. Overall, pretty bland and nondescript. No way would I return. And please, if you want korean food, go somewhere else! I will say that the customer service was very good--cheery and helpful staff! First and foremost, the customer service is excellent. The cashier (who I believe to be the owner) was polite and helpful. I like how he goes out of the way to remember your name. A real class act here. (I did catch they don't exchange the money in the traditional Korean way, that would have been a bonus) The Portions are more than enough. I arrived around 11, I had done yoga and not eaten breakfast. I ordered a B with a side of kimchi and this held me until my dinner break at 7 pm. This is Korean Fast food at its best. Good food, good portions, good service at a fair price! My only con is the Kimchi, it taste exactly like Kings Kimchi and not as spicy as I would like. The restaurant adheres to shelter-in-place restrictions. Packaged food nicely. We got three different bowls: chicken, beef, dumpling and extra vegetables in bibimbap because it looked like there would be a lot of meat. I was wrong. There were like 3 or4 dumplings. Plenty of rice in each bowl. Half the bowl. The vegetables were gross like they were old or something. The meat was okay. Edible, but definitely a fusion of sorts. Japchae was fine. The location of Ko Cups is really nice. It sits right in front of the The Luxe Theater in the Veranda shopping center. My gf and I went to this place for our 6 months and their food was good. We ordered the k-cup (japchae & chicken) the service was really fast, the inside was clean, and there was a lot of seating outside. It's a big portion and very filling. You also have the option of ordering two protein sides which is what my husband typically orders.
