    Strawberry Cheesecake pancakes (short stack)
    Alexandra R.

I do not give pancakes enough credit on breakfast menus, but these give me all the incentive I need to order them. They are SO fluffy and delicious, come in many different flavor options (my husband loves the Strawberry Cheesecake, I tried the Macadamia Nut for my first trip!), and can also be ordered in different quantities. The short stack was still 3 large pancakes!!! I added a side of Portuguese Sausage which was also a large serving and very tasty. Service was really pleasant and quick, and seating was super easy on a week day. Looking forward to bringing some of our visitors here in the near future!

Always gotta stop by koas before a long shift at work! Light bites is all this broke boy can really afford these days but super grateful they have a small selection of cheaper smaller options. The aunties are always on it with the service too! Sampo one time if u down

I was prepared to give 5 Stars but I need to be honest. And this is only my opinion. It IS walk up to the counter, order & pay restaurant. We ordered the Koa Omelette & the Trio & Eggs. Negatives: - Omlette was flavorful but dry w/o much meat. - Scrambled eggs tough w/o salt or pepper. Adding it on plate doesn't cut it. - they use the cheapest plastic silverware. I was barely able to cut through the Portuguese sausage and even my pancakes. - Overall, food was "meh". Nothing standout about it. Typical diner fare. Positives: + The pancakes were big. We each ordered the 3 stack instead of the 5. Even my Hubby couldn't get past half. +We enjoyed the Banana Pcakes more because they were moist and went down easily. The Macadamia Pcakes were kind of dry. + Dining room was clean & tidy. + Upkeep of Coffee counter was good. + Staff was very friendly & even came back to check on us twice. They didn't bring a coffee pot to offer refills but that was okay. Their coffee was good & strong :) We didn't need a second cup! It's all up to you. For us, we've found other places that have raised the bar too high.

The advantage of having our tire patched next door was the wait- which we spent at Koa Pancake House! I don't make it to this location often but I was happy to be there today, and I'm always glad to see how busy they stay. Today I fought my urge to get my usual- the mochi waffle- and while I truly enjoyed the chunky monkey combination of banana, chocolate chips, and macadamia nuts I know I'll never stray again. I would fully recommend what I ordered, but the mochi waffle simply can't be beat. My breakfast was massive. Three large pancakes five sausage links and two eggs kept me full for the entire day! No regrets. Service was fast and friendly as always, and we paid just under $20 per plate for our pancake platters. One tip, they will give you a water cup if you ask. It's a busy place, but the tables are clean and the other diners are friendly. If you find yourself in Wahiawa before 2pm a visit to Koa Pancake House is a great idea. you can't go wrong, but my suggestion is either the mochi waffle or the vhin D'alos sausage omelet.

Came for brunch after a football game at Leilehua, and it was conveniently located right down the road. Right at the entrance is where you could order your food at the register, then they'll give you a number if dining in so they can bring your order to you. The food was not bad I guess. But compared to the other Koa Pancakes, the food was more oily and you could tell too just by looking at our plates after eating because it was drenched. Since we dined in, we had to find a table, but all the tables were dirty and smelled like wet rags. We noticed that the guy would use the same water and cloth to wipe the tables, it was kinda of gross. Anyway, it wasn't a bad place to come, but honestly, idk if this would be a top choice.

    Mahi mahi Benedict

Terrible. I got the mahi Benedict. Fish was extremely tough and dry, hard to chew and swallow. Also tasted extremely fishy and not fresh at all. The eggs were made hard boiled, like eating an egg puck. The potatoes lacked seasoning. Terrible, terrible food. They usually are so good.

We really enjoy Koa. Never eaten in before though. I use their website to order online and pick up. Always on time, never had anything messed up in the order, great customer service, and food is handled with care. We have had a number of things on the menu such as breakfast burritos, pancakes, French toast, waffles, omelets, vinha d'alhos, And burgers. Their parking lot is very small if you have a big vehicle. Some review say that it is outdated but I feel like it has a retro feel and shouldn't change a thing. Give them a try. Aloha.

Your typical local breakfast stop, this Wahiawa location is a little outdated. Interior and parking lot could use a little renovation but that's just me... whoops. I ordered the steak breakfast with salad and potatoes. Bf ordered a spam plate, scrambled eggs and corn beef hash with potatoes. Shared a full stack of pancakes but wasn't even able to finish half because we were both so full. Anyways, you order right when you enter and then you choose a table then they'll serve your food to you. Service was good!

Great food along with reasonable prices. Staff was very nice. The ambiance was very local and not touristy. Will definitely return on another Hawaii trip.

Haven't been here for awhile and so glad we did! My favorite is the Florentine Benedict, Mom had fried rice, eggs, spam. Great place, it was only $22 for both meals and coffees. Come on down & meet the friendly staff!

Simple and yummy breakfast! We stopped here for a quick breakfast- one of my husbands favorites from his army days. This location was clean and the staff was very friendly. I ordered the 3-meat plate which was bacon, sausage, and Portuguese sausage, eggs, and rice (you choose your side). Mine was good- tons of food. I didn't love the Portuguese sausage but my husband was happy to eat mine. I also ordered a small pineapple juice which was fresh and delicious! He ordered the Denver omelette with fried rice- heaping portions! They are military friendly asking us when checking out which was a nice surprise to get a 10% discount! Our total with tip was around $30- and I feel like we got more than enough food for the price.

The eggs although ordered over medium had broken yolk and all over bottom of spam.

It honestly reminds me of a really good, seasoned meatloaf in the best way possible. I absolutely love it, even if your Auntie or Unko might disagree. The taste and the price point are honestly unbeatable. So why only 4 stars overall? Because I am a simple human, and my DNA dictates that a burger must be accompanied by fries. I feel like we didn't get the full experience of the fajita burger because of that. I know the waitress was trying her best that day, but I just kept having to ask for things twice because I would ask for something and she would leave and then come back and ask if everything was OK but not bring back what I asked for so it was a little bit frustrating. Ube mascarpone pancakes!…read more I've dined here and at the Aiea location a few times. To my surprise, Guieb was introducing an updated menu when my friend and I visited earlier today. Our server explained that the menu is more streamlined with favorites. He mentioned that all pancake dishes can be interchangeable to waffles and that the waffle in their chicken and waffle dish can be any flavor! can My friend and I ordered new menu items, the Aria Plate for her and Da 3-Bite Feast for me. We enjoyed our plates! I love when restaurants offer samplers of sweet and savory breakfast items. The ube mascarpone pancakes were as legitimately ube and not too sweet as ever. The crab cake Benedict was great with a crispy crab cake patty and the poached egg a good medium (huge improvement from the bao bun Benedict I ordered for takeout years ago). The egg from the Wagyu loco moco was cooked exactly like the over easy I requested. The meat was moist and the gravy was flavorful. Good to know I don't always have to get the same ube mascarpone pancakes every time! One of our servers seemed a little hurried when my friend just arrived, even though the restaurant wasn't busy. I gently reminded him that my friend needed time to look at the menu. (Maybe he got too excited, haha!) The rest of the staff were friendly and attentive. I seem to forget about Guieb's parking in the back, or even the 1-hour parking around the block. The closest untimed street parking I'm aware of is near First Hawaiian Bank a couple blocks away. ****CHECK YOUR RECEIPT PRIOR TO PAYING****…read more ****CHECK YOUR RECEIPT PRIOR TO PAYING**** I had lunch with my wife and had a wonderful experience (she had the country fried steak and I had the Korean rib-eye with an order of 4 beignets [2 of the Ube and 2 of the Strawberry])... ...until I got the receipt for our meal. The cost for the whole meal was reasonable until I saw the price for the beignets that were the special menu item. THEY TRIED TO CHARGE US $25.00 for 4 beignets. (For reference: Price was: 1 for $2.75 or 4 for $10.00) I only ordered 4 (two of the Strawberry and 2 of the Ube so my wife and I can try both flavors), which should come out to $10.00. I confronted the waitress about the mistake, and was very apologetic about the error. She returns to the register to fix it and the total came out to $11.00, not $10.00. The math doesn't make sense. So I approached the waitress and she said and I quote: "We charge the $2.75 price because you ordered two orders of two different types of beignets. Since each cost $2.75, the total comes out to $11.00". THAT WAS NEVER MENTIONED WHEN THE WAITRESS TOOK OUR ORDER OR WAS NOT PRINTED ON THE MENU WHEN WE WERE LOOKING AT THE ORDER I asked her why wasn't this mentioned while we were ordering it, even though she was present when I was having the discussion of the beignets to my wife. All she did was apologize but didn't change the ticket. I didn't want to cause a scene, so I paid the bill and took off. I only state this because even though it is only a dollar, this could have been going on for a good amount of time where they can rack up a good sum of money from customers if they kept this act going. And restaurants wonder why people don't go to their establishments: because occurrences similar to this dissuade people from going out to eat. This is why I check my receipt before paying. *see picture* Don't get me wrong, food was wonderful and the ambiance was laid back and relaxed, but they should make it known of their EXACT pricing before advertising a food item on the menu

At least like 4-5 other tables sat besides us. We got: * Mozzarella sticks: 7/10 pretty basic, tastes like store bought frozen cheese sticks refried (pretty sure it is) * Breakfast Burrito: My friend said this is always his go-to. I didn't get to try, but he seemed to really enjoy it. Super cheesy it seems o Side of buttermilk pancakes: 8/10, solid, a hefty side to have. * SPECIAL: Cheeseburger Omelet: 8.8/10. I requested for no pickles. This was pretty good, I probably would have requested for the mustard and kictehced to be on the side so I could portion it a bit better o Side of hashbrowns: 8.2/10. Solid side to have. I wish it was crispy on both sides though. The bottom side be lacking in color. The service was friendly but they were lowkey lacking on the speed. The side of pancakes came first, then the mozzarella sticks came a few minutes later. Then 10ish minutes later I got my omelet. Then 10 more minutes and my friend got his burrito and that's when I got my hashbrowns.

Food was below average. Service was slow. We waited for 35 minute to get our food alone…read more My son went to the restroom and one of the employees went shishi and did not wash his hands and another popped a pimple without washing hands. Unless they are washing them hands in the kitchen. We will not be return customers.

Thanks to Yelp, we stopped by the Haleiwa Beach House during our North Shore road trip. This is an…read moreopen-air restaurant with views of the bay. There is an upstairs seating area that must provide some exceptional views, but it was closed during our visit. Our lunch was easily 5-star. We began with the Spicy Ahi Wontons. Fresh ahi with shallots, scallions, tobiko (Japanese caviar), and cabbage. This App was extremely complex with a hint of spice. Truly wonderful! For our mains we ordered the grilled mahi mahi and fish and chips. My mahi mahi was grilled to a moist perfection, and the brown butter sauce could have overwhelmed the fish, so I went light on the sauce. Their fish n' chips are not your traditional Irish bar offering. The fish was gently battered with panko and fried just right. Their homemade tarter sauce was absolutely delicious. They have a very interesting craft cocktail menu. My Ku'Ula-Kai Mai Tai was on point and perfectly balanced - sweet and sour. Plus 1's Aloalo Fizz reminded her of a Paloma, only made with vodka with a tropical twist. Service was attentive and knowledgeable regarding the menu and ingredients. We really appreciated the chill environment, beautiful view, and the welcoming ocean breeze. Pro tip: After dinner, head downtown to walk off your lunch/dinner and check out all the shops. Dessert? If you enjoy waiting in a long line, then the famous shaved ice shop is located there (IYKYK).

The corn was excellent and the ribeye was cooked really well. But the experience had some friction. The host stand felt unnecessarily rigid and disorganized. They would not seat us until the full party was physically standing there, even though the table was ready and the rest of our group was coming from parking. It left everyone awkwardly crowded up front with another party. Service was also slow. Drinks, napkins and basic follow up took too long. We ordered ribeyes and the knives didn't arrive until the steaks had already started cooling, which is a small thing that becomes a big thing when the kitchen actually did its part. The space is nice, but it gets hot and once it got darker the mosquitoes became a real problem. Bring repellent if you are going around sunset. Food wise, it was mixed but mostly good. The drinks were solid, the appetizers were strong and the ribeye was the best thing we ordered. The lobster salad was the weak point, more like boxed mixed greens with overcooked lobster than something worth ordering again. The kids' pizza felt frozen and heavy, but the kids were happy enough. I'd probably come back, but I'd come prepared. Mosquito repellent, patience with the front desk and realistic expectations on service.
