Great COVID precautions and value; hidden gem with lots going for it -- check them out! I was thoroughly impressed with the plexiglass fort that they built inside after the last time i was inside, but they have a great in/out door situation going on, plus low contact pickup inside. I remembered that I enjoyed the sushi last time I was here, but after having a few other places, I've realized that the value is also great with Sushi O Sushi. It's not overpriced and the rolls are a good size -- not to mention there's tons of options to choose from. I can only vouch for the food here that I used to get via takeout. I'd call on the commute home and pick up the Fireball to go. It was a favorite of mine. Ordered to go pick up thru Uber Ears last night . On the Nashville roll , I took 3 pieces of the roll and each one has this sharp almost plastic like things in each one . I cut inside of my mouth on one and accidentally swallowed one . I called and sent pictures to the manager . They basically mocked me by repeating everything I said with a sarcastic tone and didn't really apologize till hours after I called thru text message . They said complain to Uber eats . When I lived in Lenox village this was one of my frequent places. The specialty sushi roles are quite delicious, as is the miso soup!

Sushi O Sushi isn't the best sushi spot but it has amazing prices and really great service. They also do great "happy hour" deals where you can save on food & drinks. Each day the deal is different. I have been going here for years and not much has changed, which is just the way I like it. The staff is always friendly and the food is consistent. I always get their sushi and sometimes order a bottle of sake. I do find if they're in a hurry, they sushi will fall apart. The sushi chef sometimes just goes too fast. TLDR - If you have a sushi itch to scratch this probably isn't the place. Before I write the review, I know this is Tennessee and I knew this place wouldn't be Nobu, my expectations were already low. The rolls don't necessarily come as described on the menu and several of the rolls (rock and roll and TNT rolls) simply weren't edible. If I hadn't had sushi before at a grocery store that was at least as good or better I wouldn't be writing this review. Terrible terrible terrible food I ordered the chicken hibachi and the chicken was drier than dirt. May have been day old chicken. I also ordered the spider roll and it was mostly rice, only 5 pieces. Perhaps the the chef taste tested it 3 times. I will say the yum yum sauce was delish as well as the no. 9 I order from here because it's close to home. And I was craving terrible sushi. My go to spot for quiet dining and good sushi. My girlfriend and I have eaten at Sushi O Sushi a fair amount of times in the last 6 months, (enough to try more than half of the available sushi offerings on the menu) and we really enjoy the location for several reasons. The location is great and not very busy even on Friday nights when most places are slammed. The Mexican place beside it is always hopping but there always seems to be available seating in Sushi O Sushi. The menu has all the classics with plenty of signature rolls that are sure to please and sushi lover's appetite. The service is fantastic, always polite and nice. The prices are slightly less than some of the more trendy sushi bars downtown. Two can dine with 4 sushi rolls (non signature), drinks, and miso for like $35. This place has helped to fuel my love for sushi and my girlfriend and I go here anytime we want a quiet somewhat reclusive dining experience. I was certainly in the mood and thought I'd give it another try. I was not impressed. Now I get we are dealing with Covid19 and I'm sure it's not the same as it would be dining in however you were NOT at all busy yesterday when I called so it's would've been nice to get a nice meal to bring home. It and when we are able to "eat in" again I still won't go back. Your lack of "presentation" and the amount of food put in a dish it's like they're throwing it in the container and whatever didn't make it ... Not my idea of a good dinner. This is my first time dining here for lunch and they have amazing lunch specials. I ordered the spicy chicken bento box. The bento box comes with your choice of a sushi roll instead of the usual boring California roll. I chose the Alaska roll which is salmon, avocado and cucumber. The miso soup comes out first and it traditionally prepared. Then comes your bento box with the salad and a ginger dressing, fried rice with peas and carrots, the Alaska roll and spicy chicken. I didn't touch my salad but I never eat the salad dressing that Japanese restaurants have. The fried rice was flavorful and the veggies were fresh. The Alaskan roll was so yummy. I like salmon with avocado so this roll is a personal favorite but not all places serve this one. The spicy chicken came with Broccoli, carrots, onions and mushrooms. The sauce was similar to teriyaki but it wasn't spicy in my opinion. The chicken was moist and the veggies were still a little crisp and not over cooked. I enjoyed my $10.95 bento box meal and I certainly think this is a great bargain. read more

This has been my go-to for Asian cuisine for YEARS. But it seems like over our past few visits the food is super underwhelming. Tonight sushi was very sloppy, chicken teriyaki udon noodle was barely flavored with approx. 7 chunks of meat and barely any veggies. And I have no clue why anyone would order the crab Rangoon. Basically a fried wonton square with a thin smear of filling (not exaggerating). One redeeming thing is that I could drinking the ginger dressing though a straw. So good. I had another great meal at Sushi O Sushi! I love this place. The owners are very nice, and the sushi is excellent. They are a bit pricey, but the food is well worth the price. I always get the sushi when I am there, so I really cannot comment on the other dishes. They have a very good selection of rolls, and they all look delicious. The menu has photos and descriptions of the rolls, so choosing is made easy. My favorite is the Fuji Mountain roll........yummy!! Beef fried rice was not good. It said that veggies come with the rice but it wasjust rice and beef. Very plain and lacked flavor. There is better options. I have worked at hibachi/sushi bars for over 5 years so when I moved to Nashville, I couldn't find anything that could match my taste. Honestly, I wasn't expecting much from this little place I found on my delivery app, but it was the best hibachi I've had in a long time. I love sushi but wasn't in the mood when I ordered at the time. I'm planning to go into the restaurant soon to try that out! Additionally I want to add that the order was packaged nicely. The grilled chicken and veggies where in a separate foil of the tray so the teriyaki sauce wouldn't leak into the fried rice, and it also kept the grilled food hot. Hidden gem! We happened upon this sushi restaurant on a recommendation of our son on a Saturday afternoon and received top-notch service. It was my sons celebration of his birthday and we tried crab stuffed jalapeños which had a nice little bite to them. The Crab Rangoon was hot and fresh. And the pork gyoza was fabulous! I tried the regular sashimi which included some incredibly fresh tuna, yellowtail and salmon. The boys ordered six or so different rolls and each were impeccably prepared as well as tasty. There are so many sushi spots within a mile of this spot but the lunch special is the reason to go! They have a deal that is 2 rolls and miso soup for about $10, which is pretty spectacular! My husband and I usually just split that deal and add another miso soup so our bill is under $20. The rolls that you can choose from for lunch are just the basic avocado, california, tuna, crunch crab, etc. Every time I've been in there for lunch the only two workers are the older woman and man, the woman is usually friendly enough and they get the food out pretty quickly. There's nothing particularly outstanding about this place, just a nice little sushi spot with decent prices and decent service. read more

Mmmmmm... spicy scallop hand rolls. NOM NOM NOM I just finished a nice round of take out from Sushi O Sushi. This being the first night of Snowpocalypse 2011, I decided to brave the empty streets of Nashvegas and slide on down to the local sushi spot. I figured they didn't carry any gallons of milk or loaves of bread, so I should be safe from the crazy hoarders. Surprisingly, there were about 5 tables occupied. I've eaten here about 7 or 8 times and have never had a bad meal. I like places that get original with rolls and mix it up a little. They do some amazing things with fresh fruit and fish here. The Double Double roll is AMAZING. The Spicy Tempura roll was excellent. Their prices are on the slightly above average side for Nashville, but their variety, quality and freshness make up for it. Their specialized rolls take up about 3 pages in the back of the menu and each has a decent picture/description to accompany it. With this, you get a good idea of how it is prepared, which always helps when trying something new. Unfortunately, this also gives you soo much to choose from which can be tough to narrow down. On a side note, I did get annoyed at the Droid Yelp app because it told me I was too far to check in, although I was sitting at the sushi bar. Overall, this is a good sushi spot in South Nashville. Yes, the sushi menu is big, but their food is good enough to keep coming back to try all of the rolls. read more
