Our family has been going to Kobe for the last 3 or 4 years because our kids can't get enough of their sushi and sashimi. Everything on the menu is delicious, but the sushi does stand out as some of the best in Northern Colorado. If someone in your party has an aversion to raw fish, the chicken tempura roll is an awesome choice. The other day was one of our kid's birthday, and he chose Kobe for his family dinner as he usually does. We didn't mention his birthday to the staff, but they remembered us from his birthday last year, came over to say happy birthday to him, and brought him a delicious green-tea ice cream on the house. Wish I would've taken a picture. We originally came to Kobe for the sushi, but we come back for the service even more than the delicious food. This is a Chinese sushi joint. The sushi chefs have no personality unlike at other places, they don't greet you and don't even say a word at all, don't smile, just standing there like robots. Servers are decent but also lack customer service skills of service industry. Brought us soups that were lukewarm. Sushi nigiri and sashimi are cut paper thin even though the prices they charge here is a lot more than most sushi restaurants in Denver area ($7.95 per nigiri order of salmon). Most fish we tried (we did 7 different nigiri and also sashimi deluxe platter) were all days old by color and taste. Perhaps it's a good thing they cut so small and thin that we don't overdose on bad fish and get food poisoning The Chinese meals they have like fried rice is super saucy and greasy. There aren't too many choices when I'm visiting Loveland CO and want authentic Japanese food. I usually order the hand rolls or sushi and each time it is fresh, delicious and plentiful. I prefer the pan fried Gyoza over deep fried. The staff are always friendly and professional. It's a hard to find location sandwiched between other stores in a strip of retail stores. What's your find it though you'll be glad the food here is great. Portion sizes were generous including the size of sashimi sushi. Both times I ordered toro, it was in stock, which appreciated. There is limited seating and it does get very busy at lunch. Easily my favorite restaurant in Colorado. I moved out from California two years ago & have missed Japanese food from the coast so much! Thank goodness for Kobe Sushi. Finding this place a few months ago has been an absolute game changer. I am obsessed with their bento boxes & their sushi entree combos. Good Sushi spot in Loveand. I had one of the lunch specials which consisted of soup salad and 2 rolls. I had miso soup which was your proverbial Miso soup. I had a seaweed salad it had some good flavor and crunch to it. The rolls I got was a Philadelphia roll and and deep fried spicy tuna roll. The Philadelphia roll was good and fresh. The best roll was the deep fried spicy tuna. I haven't had one if these. It was very delicious. The service was nice and prompt. I sat at the sushi bar so I got to watch the rolls being made. The place was packed for lunch. They have a pretty neat fish tank if you have kids or are just into fish tanks. read more

They neglected to inform us that there is no dine in service on the website and that we needed to order ahead for pick up only.. We ate here yesterday for lunch, and had fast, friendly service. The place is well decorated, with Japanese paper umbrellas hanging from the ceilings. A curved sushi bar is the largest feature in the room, with a large flat screen tv hanging on the back wall. The food was good. Two of us had bento-boxes. One teriyaki salmon and one tempura shrimp. The other had sesame chicken. Shumai comes with the bentos as well as 4 pieces of a California roll. We also ordered a plate of Gyoza to share. It was ok - we didn't have the option to have it steamed, just deep fried. I would definitely go back again. I'd like to see more donburi on the menu, and sample some of the non-Japanese food, like pad Thai . Good White Rice. Definitely going back! read more

I want this every time I go back. We had eel & avocado rolls, spicy scallop rolls & a spicy tuna roll. Everything is delicious. Service is amazing & your glass is never empty. This is the best sushi in this area so far. I came here for dinner about 2 months ago and returned for lunch recently. One noticeable difference between the two visits is the inconsistent sashimi cuts. The cuts during lunch were modest plus they gave me one less piece than they should. All I'll say is that I won't be back for lunch if I can help it. In the meantime I will look out for other places. read more

The Sushi choices in Loveland are very limited and Kobe Sushi is really the top choice in the area. It's clean, the service is on point, the sushi is good to very good, the flavors are good, the quality of the fish is good. I just wish they would step it up a notch. I am happy to have a Bento lunch place again after my favorite lunch spot took a sharp nose dive ( see Sushi Zensai review below ) but there are times I want a top quality sushi experience & I am willing to pay higher for that, for something special - not just something good. Kobe sushi is good & they nail good. They miss the mark on special. If family style sushi is a thing - that is what this place is, including handwritten signage , kids in the back, and the occasional creepy middle aged white man making a spectacle out of himself with the uncomfortable waitresses just like your crazy uncle at holiday. I see all those things here consistently. It's kind of my go to for sushi lunches now, although for me being nearer to Downtown it's out of the way. Plus I am not a huge fan of anything McWhinney/Brinkman so I try to not support any of their properties ...and YES I know it's a losing battle. But that's another story. 1 Star for customer service, warm, friendly, swift. Don't change a thing about that. The quality of the fish here is atrocious. The fact that so many reviewers think this is good, either informs me to the fact that people in Loveland don't know good sushi, or that the owners are recruiting their friends to give them good reviews as a sort of damage control. Either way... Yellowtail was easily the lowest quality fish I've ever had. The salmon skin was overcooked, and the flavor was off, there was certainly something wrong with it. The dynamite roll had sour tasting mayo on it, not the typical kewpie in my experience, and they were trying to mask the terrible ingredients with a ton of sauces and mayo. A dynamite roll of this style can be made multiple ways. Little tip as well, to combat the grossness of the gooey top, you should sear the mayo and sauce to caramelize them. It's what most places do on big fancy rolls like this with this kind of presentation, for a reason. Decor was really cool. But yeah, overall, huge waste of 30 dollars or so, and not very satisified, quite a bit grossed out. read more

Went here for lunch today and Kobe Sushi was fantastic! We just moved here from San Francisco and were looking for our new local "spot." Judging by our meal today, we're both pretty confident we found it! We got the lunch specials-- each with 3 rolls, salads, and soup and they were fantastic! The fish was so fresh, the roll combinations were perfect (his shrimp tempura roll had both avocado in it and eel sauce on top of it-- yum!!), the service was so fast, and the prices were so reasonable! With edamame and tea our bill came out to under $35 (and I couldn't even finish all my rolls... not a common thing!). Great spot that I definitely recommend with 5 stars! Can't wait to come here for dinner sometime and see what it's like on a weekend (oh, and did I mention how unexpected and perfect the decor was inside?).
