Had the worst service tonight. The wife and I came in with my 11 year old and 1 year old. I have never had bad service in this place, but after tonight I will never go back. As soon as the guy that runs the place saw the baby, he stuck us in the far back corner of the restaurant. We were brought menus and a high chair and then never received any service. That back corner is by the bathrooms. It smelled horrible in that corner. On top of it, Right behind the booth was a false wall where all the employees were on the other side of the wall smoking. So we had cigarette smell and bathroom smell. We finished feeding the baby the container of food we brought with, and we got up and left. As much as I have always liked this place, I will never go back again. This is the the first time I have ever been discriminated against for having a baby with me. I think the owners need to realize this is not a high class restaurant by any means. It's a run of the mill sushi joint in amongst a strip mall!! read more

It was "meah" at best, super lackluster. With all the 5* reviews I was expecting much more from the sushi. Not much of a flavor profile and almost every specialty role is deep fried. Tucked into an outdoor shopping area, this was a great find so close to my hotel. The squid salad was honestly the best I've had. I had the Green Dragon roll and it was fabulous! Ambience is nice and relaxed, staff is attentive without swarming, and prices are reasonable. I'll be back next time I'm in town; for sure. read more

Wow, solid spot for a pretty and yummy sushi lunch that is also filling. Terrific, attentive and quick service, the lunch specials are incredibly priced for value and quality. Enjoyed a sashimi lunch for $15 - included salad, miso soup, spring roll, 9 pieces of sashimi, and rice. My daughter had a rolls lunch special. One of her rolls was deep friend and out of this world good! Fresh and healthy if you don't count the deep fried rolls - but all delicious! I am giving this place 2 stars because the food was decent tasting at least. I too am from out of town [Denver]. But the portion sizes were absurdly small. I feel actively screwed out of my money from coming here. The soup that came with the meal came in a "cup" that barely fit the spoon you were expected to eat it with. It was 4 to 6 ounces at best. There were about 6 to 8 bites of salad in the bowl. The fried calamari was shocking. $8.95 delivered *8* rings. Half of them bite sized. Thats over a buck a ring! The main course featured mostly rice and the fish on top was nothing one could call fresh. This place has a $$$ price range but the portion sizes are so small an actual meal will cost in the $$$$ range. The review that said "crazy sized portions" must have been a paid shill. You won't leave this place full or even satisfied. Your money is probably better spent next door at Noodles and Company. Best sushi in Loveland probably means ONLY sushi in Loveland. I recommend not eating sushi in Loveland. The whole experience made me want to leave Loveland quickly. read more

Kobe Sushi has a three roll with miso soup and salad lunch special for 10.50! That is a lunch special I can appreciate!! There was a long list of rolls to choose from and I was actually thankful the rolls weren't any bigger than they were. They are on the small size but for 10.50, they should be! In fact, it was still too much for a mid-day meal. Next time, I will get the 2 roll special for 7.95. The decor inside isn't anything spectacular but the service was friendly and consistent. My little boy and I went here for dinner around 7 on a Tuesday evening. The waitress was so nice, very pleasant, and checked on us regularly despite having about 6 other tables. I got the spider roll and the chicken tempura- both were really good. The regular miso soup and salad with ginger dressing that you get at pretty much all Japanese restaurants was the same as any; the lettuce was a bit wilted. My 2 y/o LOVED the chicken tempura, it also had a slice of carrot, sweet potato, and a broccoli. I have to say the soft shell crab was the best I'd had at a few other sushi places recently- it wasn't at all "fishy" like all too often soft shell crab can be; I was really surprised and happy about that. There was a big fish tank that was nice, and kept my baby entertained almost the whole time. The music was a good volume and type (top 20 but nothing obnoxious). The only other thing that would have been nice is if the ambience made it feel more like it was a Japanese restaurant. read more

We spent about $70 (I know, not breaking the bank), but we got almost nothing for the money. Really great place with super friendly service. I was working in Loveland and wanted something quick and lite as it was later. My co-workers and I went here for dinner. I was impressed by the fact that they had a gluten free menu. One of my co-workers has a gluten sensitivity and I was concerned she would be left out of the fun. We were a group of 10 but after another table left it was only us there. The food came out pretty quick for the amount of orders we put in. The only down side is since we were the last people there before closing on a Sunday, it took a while to get the check once we concluded eating. They were closing up shop but still extremely nice in the process. The food was good. Fish was fresh. Hot dishes seasoned nicely. Everyone was satisfied. Great local sushi joint in a place not known for it. Unique rolls with unique ingredients like rice paper (like a spring roll) and mangos. Favorite is their Loveland Roll if you like lots of fish and no rice. Prices are fair and on the cheap side for what you get. I'd say they lack in truly spicy rolls as most never reach above a 7/10 spiciness unless you get some thick slices of fresh jalapenos. Their desserts are also great if you save room. read more

Delicious, fresh fish, expertly prepared by friendly sushi chefs who don't speak English! The wait staff are cheerful, prompt, and friendly. And when I tell them that I eat LOTS of ginger, I don't have to say it twice. I got a whole mountain of ginger after my first visit, without even asking! So far I've been there three times, once for take-out and twice to dine in. Be prepared for the check, though--I would give it $$$. Best in the area and getting better. We eat here at least 1-2 times a week. The lunch specials are outstanding. They seem to be getting more busy over time, which means fish moves through fast, which means the fish always tastes fresh. And they always have NFL Network on their TVs. They really treat us right, and the sushi is very good. This is the best sushi I've had in Northern Colorado and the best value. They will create anything you like, if they have it. Spicy Scallop roll is our favorite, simple but very tasty. I only wish they could do Kobe beef sashimi, as it's fitting of the name. But, I don't know if the customer base could support it, might need a bigger city... And maybe the name is more about the city of Kobe, Japan. Anyway, give it a try and for 30 minutes you might forget you are in the center of North America. read more

You might think that finding good, fresh and flavorful sushi in Loveland, Colorado could be a difficult task. However, I was happy to discover Kobe. Is this the finest sushi experience you will ever have? I doubt it. What I found is that I genuinely like each and every roll I have ordered. The rolls are prepared by competent chefs who clearly have some skill. They are pretty much robots who excel at efficiency and waste no time in delivering an enjoyable meal. Adding to my overall enjoyment was a clean restaurant with ample room. My waitress was friendly and efficient and did a very good job of taking care of me. She was even kind enough to explain the waving cat statue to me when I asked. Of course I spent the next hour on wiki learning more about it. Would I eat here again? Absolutely. There are times when I just want to sit and watch that cat statue wave at me. Of course, it doesn't hurt if I get some good sushi as well. read more

This is still a hidden gem of Loveland. Good sushi. Very nice staff. The gal who runs the place is very sweet. She always remembers us and offers our favorite drink when wet sit down. It's quiet and casual. It was rough when they first opened...the food was hit or miss. They seem to have steadied out since. Very good, went here today to try the sushi here in Colorado, as I just moved here from California. Overall I'm impressed, we arrived at around 3:30pm and ordered the off the lunch menu. I ordered the (にぎり) nigiri sushi platter. The staff I interacted with were all very kind and our waitress was very helpful. The soup and salad were good, nothing spectacular but tasty. When the nigiri arrived I was quite happy, all the pieces were quite well assembled and were placed elegantly. The sushi rice was slightly sweet with a nice flavor but not overpowering. The wasabi was set on the side like would normally be done with sushi rolls, and although I prefer it placed under the fish on the nigiri it wasn't a problem. The fish was at a very good temperature as was the rice and it had great feel in the mouth. I also ordered some unagi on the side which was absolutely delicious. All in all very good. I've had better, but this place impresses. I'll be trying out some other local places as well but if you're in loveland and want sushi they are pretty good spot. read more

Great paid three extra dollars for the 3 roll lunch special and then avocado gets fucking put in the "chicken tempura" (not a real Japanese food) which is fucking disgusting and not real Japanese food at all. We've gone here about 10 times now so it is over time to post a review. This has turned out to be our favorite sushi place and seldom do we have anything less than a great experience. The miso soup is awesome, some of the best we've ever tasted, and the egg drop is pretty good too. Tempura is always very light and crispy, and my wife often orders the chicken teriyaki which is very tasty. They even made a special meal once for us when we brought our granddaughter with us, so they are very willing to accommodate special requests. Saki and the drinks have all been above average, with the ladies liking the creative fruity martinis (try the Mandarin orange one!). On occasion I've had to ask to have the saki heated up as it was not as hot as I like, but lately it has been piping hot. We usually order sushi in waves (no pun intended!) with a starter batch and then getting more of what we like the best. Very often we order sashimi of what is tasting the best. We mainly focus on nigiri and sashimi, however we've ordered a few rolls and they have all been good to great. A couple of tips: Order the sushi meals like the sushi deluxe which comes with 10 pieces of nigiri and a california roll for $21. Also, when we want sashimi we often order the 9pc off the appetizer menu for $12 which are both great deals. We typically ask for what fish we want and they have generally accommodated our requests. We had a time when something went wrong and we let the manager know, she took care of it right away and brought us a free appetizer, in our experience they have been very willing to ensure a great experience. Lastly, we think the prices are about average as most other sushi places, but the quality has been good to excellent for the price. Even so sushi is generally expensive in Colorado since we're so far from an ocean, so to save a little we order as noted above. If you look around you can sometimes find a discount coupon as well. Highly recommended and it is the first place we think of when we want sushi! read more

I was there on opening day and the restaurant is absolutely beautiful! There is a long sushi bar and the ambiance is nice for a date night. That being said I actually ordered take-out. I had the Eel Avocado roll, Spicy Crunchy Tuna Roll and the Park Ridge Roll. The fish was wonderful and fresh and there was not too much rice used on the rolls. They also threw in two bowls of Egg Drop Soup which was good but I thought it was strange for a sushi place, I would of preferred Miso. My only complaint was that they do not use Kikkoman Soy Sauce and the one they use has little flavor. The prices are good and service was amazing! 2.5 stars, but I'll round up to 3 since this is after all Loveland. It is a good option if you happen to be in the area and want to avoid the fast-casual chains that dominate these strip malls. I suppose they call themselves "Kobe Sushi" because they have a wide assortment of sushi rolls, but it is in fact more of a pan-Asian kind of place. I am not one to have just sushi for an entire meal, so I ordered a bento. It was really weird to be offered a choice of miso soup or egg drop soup ... but I digress. The bento I ordered was a chicken teriyaki-tempura combo, and it came with the aforementioned choice of soup, a California roll, an unremarkable salad of iceberg lettuce and flavorless dressing, and what was supposed to be shu mai turned out to be an egg roll. Their treatment of teriyaki is as a sauce rather than a marinade, so I wasn't a fan of the chicken -- I ended up bringing it home literally for the doggies. The tempura had an odd assortment of vegetables, but the two prawns were perfect. If I ever find myself back here, I would order the shrimp tempura and maybe a little sushi on the side. It took one of the waitresses almost 10 minutes to sit my wife and I at a table. After we got seated we got completely ignored for another 15 minutes while the waitresses sat around eating in the back of the restaurant obviously visible in plain sight. They were not busy at all so I would recommend going elsewhere for good service! We have been to this restaurant one time before and the service was okay but this time was completely unacceptable!
