    Yukgejang
    Chae L.

Food: a little hole in the wall spot for Korean food, especially a good jjajangmyun! I've had the jjajang myun here twice and I think it's better than Paik's noodles at Hmart imo. The yukgejang was good too and the Korean style fried wings are good as well. Service: it is owned by Koreans and they are attentive and friendly! Ambiance: it's decorated as a pocha type except it's bright and white instead of dark and moody. Like a daytime pocha I guess? Other: Parking is abundant, it's tucked away in the corner of the plaza but I wish more ppl knew about it!

At Kochu, you order at the counter and get a number to set on your table. The food is cooked fresh so it takes some time to come out. Our group had the chicken teriyaki bento, Galbi bento, spicy chicken and cheese ramen and the Yangyeum K-Wings. The wings and Galbi were my favorite. The chicken teriyaki was just ok. The spicy chicken ramen was a little too spicy for me but it was super tasty.

Everything I ordered was delicious, but the wings were particularly great. Perfectly crispy + juicy. I REALLY want to try the super spicy wings next time, I'm sure they are even better.. Can't speak to service or the store as I ordered through DoorDash, but highly recommend for great Korean food/wings.

Great customer service the owner greeted us as soon as we came in and offered us samples of the drinks and a menu. Delicious food!!!Overall great vibe inside the establishment, coming back for sure.

Another successful trip to Kochu! This place really satisfies our Korean chicken cravings. The creamy ginger sauce and radish you get in the side are great for breaks in flavor. Well done, as always!

Authentic, hearty Korean food. This restaraunt completes the holy quadfecta of a 5 star lunch spot - delicious, healthy, affordable, and quick. The portions are also very generous. The Soegogi Muguk ($15.95) was A+++. My friend got the bibimbap with bulgogi ($10.95 + $4.95) and he really enjoyed it. Order at the counter, grab a number, and food is brought out to you. The inside is bright, casual, and clean.

This was a great Korean restaurant. There was a lot of variety with the bento box I got and it was a very filling lunch. Overall the atmosphere is upbeat and lively and I loved all the artwork at the location. It has an almost open kitchen concept so you know the cooks are hard at work making your order. There is a lot of variety here and many things I hadn't tried before but really look forward to trying on my next visit like the buldak covered chicken wings which I think was a special but I hope they keep it around so that I can try it. You can't beat Korean fried chicken! I will definitely be back and really enjoyed my experience and highly recommend this place.

Very nice fast casual Korean eatery. The service is quick and very good selections. Friendly staff. We tried the Bulgogi bowl, Spicy Squid Dosirak Bento, Spicy Pork Dosirak Bento and the Soy Garlic Wings. The food are all taste great. This is a good find.

Kochu is a casual korean restaurant specializing in rice bowls with pretty authentic flavors and good portion sizes. They give a lot of rice, but I do wish the proportions were better. Like more meat and vegetables. We also got the kimchi fries, which were good but I didn't care too much for. And the k-wings, which I liked a lot! The sauce was delicious, the chicken was crispy, and the inside was not too dry. I will say it was more expensive than I expected. The base price isn't the worst, but I was expecting more meat. And then if you want extra of anything, there's a surcharge. Even for sauces! And adding meat is like an additional $4/5. Overall a solid spot for when you're craving some Korean food, but not exactly a place where you'd have the best food of your life.

    Honey Sriracha K-Wings
    Rachel W.

Great KFC!! And a super reasonable price too. An order of k-wings is 8 pieces and it comes out nice and fresh. I came with a party of 9 and they had put a table together for us since I called in advance. I like how everyone can scan the QR code and order/pay on their own. It avoided the hassle of putting everything on one check and having to venmo request people. Service was friendly! I really enjoyed the honey sriracha wing flavor and also got a side of pork gyoza that was decent. The gyoza were a bit smaller in size than I expected, but nothing to really complain about. Definitely come check this place out!

THE BIG: Located in North Austin inside the Crossroads Shopping center facing Burnet Road. Small eatery spot but it packs quite the menu. Plenty of parking in the lot. THE BLACK AND WHITE: The wife and I came here for something quick and korean. Kochu showed up on google maps and I'm surprised how I never knew about this spot before. Very industrial interior with order first and then sit down and eat. We got the Korean fried chicken and jjajangmyeon. The jjajangmyeon reminded me of the chinese version and the buckwheat noodles were delicious! The korean fried chicken came in a couple of flavors. We got the spicy soy garlic. A staple and oh so good. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall the damage done for two dishes was around $30, not bad and a very delicious meal for those seeking casual korean fare. Will be back!

Ordered delivery. The beef kelp soup and the vermicelli were satisfying and the overall flavor profile was on the heavier side. Very authentic

Its a solid 3.5- This is a newer Korean spot off Burnet with a counter service style. Went in and it was pretty straightforward- you order at the counter and they drop off your food at your table. Its no frills and very casual. I got the Jajangmyeon and the Bulgogi platter. Flavor wise it was good, i wished the jajangmyeon was a bit more flavorful as it bordered on bland. The pork helped punch it up a bit. The bulgogi was solid though, and with the fried rice it was good. My only issue with the proteins was the price, for galbi and bulgogi they were getting close to full service Korean restaurant prices. If you're charging premium, maybe offer a bit more service. Just my two cents. Otherwise it's a decent fast casual korean place if you're in a hurry.

They were perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of vinegar and cooked to that ideal tender texture without being mushy. The fried chicken and catfish were outstanding. Both were well seasoned, incredibly crispy, and tasted like they were fried in fresh grease. Every bite was hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The baked macaroni and cheese was good, but it leaned a little more toward a Velveeta-style cheese sauce than my personal preference. Still a solid 9/10. I also ordered the Peach Passion Fruit Hennessy margarita, and it was superb. Smooth, flavorful, and easily one of the highlights of the meal. I don't eat a lot of fried food, but sometimes you just go with the flow. Every year, we go through the same routine. Two weeks out: "Have you picked a restaurant yet?" Not yet. One week out: "Any ideas?" Still no. Then, three days before Father's Day...bam...the decision is made! Luckily, this last-minute pick didn't require reservations. This year's winner? Drum roll...The Rolling Rooster. Honestly, you've got to love the name. The Rolling Rooster is located in a strip center at the corner of Mopac and Wells Branch Parkway. It looks small from the outside, but once you step in, it opens up into a surprisingly spacious dining area. It's not fancy, but it has a warm, homey feel. We were greeted right away by Edna, who handled both hosting and serving. She was friendly and welcoming, embodying that classic Texas Southern hospitality. The atmosphere was cozy, with a smooth R&B playlist spinning in the background. As you'd expect, the restaurant focuses on Southern comfort food...think fried chicken, wings, and waffles. The standout for me was the catfish: crispy, flavorful, and coated with a slightly heavier cornmeal crust than usual, which added a nice texture. We both went with the 2 | 2 combo...two meats and two sides...choosing fried chicken wings and catfish. For sides, we had yams, fries, Mac n cheese and my favorite...grits. The food tasted like something straight out of a family kitchen...comforting, hearty, and satisfying. Portions were generous and reasonably priced, so much so that we didn't have room for dessert on the spot. We did, however, grab some banana pudding to go and I'm glad we did. It was absolutely delicious and the perfect sweet ending to the meal. The hubby and I got to enjoy some quality time while he enjoyed one of his favorite meals...a win-win! Happy Father's Day!
