This is the review that Kodi will not want to see. Before I relay our story, if you are thinking about doing this experience, please take 5 minutes and search arkansas river browns canyon rafting deaths - Search (bing.com), it may change your mind. Also, READ THE WAIVER and understand what are signing. We had 6 people in our family on our trip, 3 females and 3 males (one an 11 year old) and communicated to our professional guide that none of us had experience in whitewater rafting. The trip started by going through gentle current and then a class 2 rapid called Milk Run. Our guide told us we were doing great and we were all following his commands. Our first problem occurred when we encountered our first stage 3 run called Pinball. We were just entering when our guide ran us right into a rock and the raft immediately turned vertical dumping all of us including the guide and completely flipping the raft. A few of us were caught under the raft while the others were thrown away from the raft. Somehow, we all managed to make it to a safe spot to be rescued by other rafts. As you can imagine, we were all shaken from the experience in fact, Kodi had to pull a second guide who happened to be following in a kayak to lead us the rest of the way because our first guide was so shaken. We started again now with two professional guides along with the six of us. At this point, we just wanted to get down the river but our new guide seemed to want to continue to make it an experience. We made it fine through a few stage 3 runs and were approaching a run called the widow maker when the second incident occurred. I don't know how with two professionals in the raft that we once again hit a rock which caused 5 of us to go overboard. The two guides were on the back of the raft and we had one female who had been so shaken by the first experience that she was lying flat in the back. We were in a rough part of the run but somehow the guides were able to pull l everyone in but me. I was in the front of the raft and when I fell off I was away from the raft holding onto my daughters hand. I did not want to pull her in so I let go and was at the mercy of the raging river. I do not know how, but I managed to get toward the edge of the river and was just so lucky there was a small handhold in a rock I could grab. There is little doubt in my mind that had it not been for that grab, I would have died on that river. Luckily another Kodi raft behind us was able to make it over to where I was and pull me into the raft. Once pulled into the raft, I just wanted to get the nightmare over and get off that dangerous river. Once we cleared the widow maker rapid, they had me transfer back to my family's raft. We still had a couple of stage 3 rapids to clear and at that point, none of us were in the physical (or mental) state to paddle the raft but somehow made it to the end. We were all relieved to have survived this nightmare and I felt it important to communicate our experience to anyone considering this "adventure". From our experience, if you are the least bit apprehensive about this trip, do some research before signing your life away. As a healthy person who has completed 8 marathons, I would NOT recommend this trip for young kids (under 14) or anyone with ANY health issues. read more

On 7/17/21 we celebrated our 30th High School Reunion in Colorado. We are a bunch of military brats that graduated in England and instead of traveling back there, we pick a place stateside to meet up. While making our travel plans, Kodi white rafting was the only company willing to go above and beyond to help coordinate our group of 26. They made the process for making payment arrangements simple and hassle free. The staff from the get go was professional, friendly and knowledgable. Day of the event, I was impressed even more. I was super nervous as this was my first time and had no idea what to expect. Jackson was my guide in our raft and was the lead for the entire group. I can see why, he had his hands full with our group since we had a couple of non swimmers, kid and of course me the nervous Nelly. Throughout the experience he was focused, understanding, safe, but fun and extremely encouraging. There were seven of us in my boat and I landed a seat in the back with Jackson. I heard that was the bumpiest from all my friends, but Jackson talked me through every step of the experience and by mile two I was relaxed and ready for anything. I was impressed at the maturity and the professionalism from Jackson. We even saw someone in a Kayak turnover and he jumped in to action. They ended up not wanting his help, but I was impressed at his ability to not only maneuver us to a safe stable location, but take the role of safety seriously. I went up this past weekend with a group of girlfriends for a bachelorette party and we did the half day Brown's trip. The ladies at the front desk were really polite and cool, even taking the time to let us know that they had arranged for two strapping young men to take us down the river. Bonus! The process of grabbing our gear and getting ready was really streamlined and the staff is super friendly, even snapping an ungodly number of pictures for us while we waited. We got lots of corny jokes on the bus ride down to the river and received thorough instructions on how to not die. All great things! We had to split into two groups (not really sure why, though, as they have boats that carry 8 passengers, along with the guides), and were assigned to Kawyn and Dalton's boats. Those ladies at the front desk weren't joking, either.....strapping young men indeed! EXCELLENT call on the assignment for the bachelorette party. But wait! There's more! These two young bucks were funny, personable, and knowledgeable to boot, making the whole experience pretty damn great. This is a commercial area to raft, so if you're looking for high adventure and extreme adrenaline, it might not be a great fit. If you're looking to have a kick ass time and get tossed around a little, you'll be really happy! It's a great spot to take a family, someone who's never rafted before, or a rowdy group of ladies who kicked off their day with Bloodies. read more

Our company has done a raft trip every summer for over 20 years with our staff and clients; adults with developmental disabilities. We've never found a company that met all our expectations, until now. One time we weren't listening and hit a boulder. Tyler pulled the raft to the side and insisted we pay attention for our own safety. Past companies the guides have been in their 20's. Raft guides in the summer, lift operators in the winter.  Nothing wrong with that, however anything can happen on the river.  You can end up in the water even if everything goes perfect.  Training and experience is what makes the difference.  Tyler and Boston, best raft guides ever.  We will come back year after year.  Customers for life. We had a group of 6 go rafting with Kodi on a Saturday. It was a pretty easy booking process. My cousin ended up calling, reserving and paying for a portion of the people. Then I called and paid for the rest. Once we got to our meeting point (a ski rental shop), we checked in and changed into wet suits, booties, and a splash jacket (those items do cost extra $10 for a half day; but believe me you will need it!). They then fit you with a helmet and life jacket. Our trip was half day to the Blue River so it wasn't a long ride to our start point. The start includes a quick overview of our plan for the half day and all the safety precautions to take. The six of us hopped in a boat with a guide and headed off. The Blue River trip is about 30 minutes class 1/2 and then the last half hour is class 3. So it ended up being a really great introduction into rafting. The staff were all so knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend going through Kodi for all your rafting needs! read more

This was the best part of our Colorado trip!! I would highly recommend KODI Rafting. There was 6 of us in the our group with teens ranging from 13 to 19. We all had a blast! As a group we all thought our guide River Jesus ;) was the best. He is amazing, and our trip down the Arkansas River was fantastic!! Fun and informative. Browns Canyon is beautiful. All the guides were friendly, and hilarious keeping us entertained on the bus ride both ways. You could feel they absolutely loved their work and took your safety very serious. River said he grew up on the Arkansas River and shared the history of the area as we went down, as well as sharing some of his childhood memories that were made on the river. His passion for nature and was inspirational. We went on the 1/2 day trip this time, but next time the all day trip :) read more

My wife was adamant that we white water raft while in Colorado. Hey, you have to to white water raft if you're in Colorado, that's pretty much a given. While a little hesitant I(we, went with brother and sister in-law) rolled with it and in all honesty, it was the funnest thing we did while there. The Kodi Rafting team is top notch, they're professional while being a lot of fun. It's a no pressure environment, everyone is there to help. That being said, the trip to the drop off was fun and informative and they took us step by step so we knew what to expect. Erin was our guide and we could not have had a better guide. He instructions and most importantly, her encouragement kept us up. I would recommend this group of fun and professional people to anyone, they make the experience safe and fun from start to finish. read more

First time rafting. It was awesome! Everything good i expected but without any of the negative. I expected to be beat up and tired. But we went down the river, ate dinner and I drove the 7 hours to Amarillo that night. Water was cold!!! But on a hot day you dry quickly. Catfish was great guide! He kept us involved and entertained. Everyone was very helpful. Being my first time it was a little unnerving getting squeezed into a life jacket and climbing on a bus. But once on the bus the guides go over all you will need. Wait until you arrive to decide on wetsuit. And splash top. My daughter wore hers and was hot but said she appreciated it when we got splashed. The booties are heavier water shoes and work great, so highly recommend those. You just put them on your bare feet so no need to wear any shoes or socks. read more

KODI Rafting was the highlight of our family's recent mountain vacation! Our kids are 11, 13 and 15 and could not stop talking about it. The guides are fun and informative... especially Chas. He flat out made the trip. Not only a skilled guide, but he has the BEST restaurant recommendations. Don't miss Buena Viking food truck on Main Street in Buena Vista (worth the line) or Flip Side in Breckenridge. Both Chas suggestions that were spot on. Rafting through a National Monument is second to none. Do yourself a favor and book this trip. Added bonus is that the drop in is only a 10 minute bus ride. Had a great time with CT on our rafting trip down the Arkansas River! The day was a ton of fun and CT made sure we enjoyed ourselves and stayed safe during our trip. His experience with rafting was evident as he guided us through the rapids and always made sure we were aware of what was coming up. We had a large group of almost 20 kids and adults; Kodi Rafting accommodated our group without any issues. The Kodi facilities are top-notch and all the staff we interacted with were friendly and professional. Our family of 4 had a fabulous day with Kodi and Krista on a Brown's Canyon 1/2 day trip. This was our 7yo 1st float trip and our 11yo 2nd. We all enjoyed learning about the area from our guide, checking out cool rocks and the rapids. Not one 'are we there yet' comment which tells this Mom there was enough action for my 2 active boys...it really was the perfect mix for our family between calm and exciting. Pretty hot day even with cloud cover and got to take a dip in the Arkansas River. If you are a family, looking for a good trip for younger ones...this is a good one!!!! Had the opportunity to go whitewater rafting for the first time while visiting Colorado. Dave and Amy were awesome to work with. We put out from Buena Vista on the Arkansas River. It was a beautiful day and an awesome trip. The water was fast and the rapids were big. Our guide, Luke, was an absolute professional throughout the entire trip. Great conversation about the history of the river and terrain, along with some good old fun. I would absolutely recommend this company and will jump at the opportunity to roll down the river with this crew next time we are in the area. Our group had a great trip down the Arkansas river through Browns Canyon with Kodi Rafting. I truly believe that your trip is only as good as your guide. Rad Brad and the Kodi rafting crew did a great job. WE got way more that we expected, our guide Brad was very knowledgeable about the river and pointed out interesting sights and kept us entertained the whole way. Our group consisted of 7 ranging form 15-50yrs with only a few of us ever rafting before.... even the more seasoned members of our group said that was one of the best. What a great experience! I had my two girls (18 and 7) with me as well as my in laws. I was a little nervous because I had never done anything like this before, but I cannot put into words how at ease our guide, Randy, put me. I felt so comfortable after just a little bit. Randy was a fantastic guide....he provided so much info about the area during our Browns Canyon trip and was an absolute riot! A perfect mix of professionalism and personality! 10 years ago our family took our first Kodi raft trip at Brown's Canyon. Returning 10 years later, we HAD to use KODI again. Dani was the best guide ever! Friendly, experienced, encouraging and just super chill, she was the perfect fit for our family. She made my 17 year old feel completely at ease after my girl changed her mind about not going due to fear of the rapids. Dani made her feel confident and safe, placing her right in front of her, yet still able to be part of the paddle team. We will return for a higher level trip and hopefully we can get Dani again. We went to KODI Rafting for my bachelor party with Catfish, Chaz, and Riley as our guides. They were fantastic and made sure we were safe and laughing the whole time. The river was too low for a full whitewater rafting trip, but they made it work with individual duckies for us to float in. This change was actually better because we could make it a competition to see who fell out and who didn't. They also helped us find the perfect spot in town for food/drinks afterwards. My buddies and I had the time of our life during our 14 mile trip through Brown's Canyon. Aaron was our guide and he's the man! He takes his job seriously but not himself which is a true skill and talent. Aaron brought the energy and enthusiasm which was contagious. I loved that he enjoyed bringing out the big 16' raft with our inexperienced crew of 8 dudes. Another impressive aspect of Aaron's lead was his frequent education regarding the land, rafting, and science behind the rapids/geography. KODI rafting was out of this world amazing. Coming from Chicago, our family was unsure what to think or even do when going about booking/ actually rafting. KODI handled everything amazingly. From the time of my first phone call with Amy to Dave sending us to the restaurant with the best meal had all week, everything was top notch. Our guide Chaz was simply awesome.
