I'd call Koffee Pot a "hole-in-the-wall" kind of joint, but the spotless renovated interior doesn't scream breakfast dive. The aesthetic is cute and makes the most of the small space, which has room for about seven barstools, one table for two inside and one table for two outside. The food is typical breakfast fare done well and the specialty seems to be their breakfast sandwich, but I haven't tried it yet. My eggs were cooked perfectly and the grits were on point. Koffee Pot is a cute and very small breakfast spot located in downtown Oakland. First and foremost, they are a CASH ONLY restaurant, and they do not have an ATM (one is located across the street), so be prepared. Our server, and possible owner, was nice and abrupt simultaneously. After watching a woman come in, rudely demand her order, then continued giving the server a lot of attitude about everything. The server nicely but sternly took the woman's order, repeated it back to her, then went into the kitchen. She deserves a medal for putting up with that kind of bull. I ordered the sausage omelet, grits, and coffee. The coffee tasted amazing. I just wish I had a bigger cup. The omelet was equally amazing. The pieces of sausage were gigantic, and the omelet itself was cooked to fluffy perfection. I was given a sizeable amount of grits, drowning in butter, and they were fantastic. The area is a little sketchy, and parking can be very difficult, but in my opinion it is very much worth it. read more

My wife and I were looking for a casual breakfast place on a Saturday morning for our weekend trip to Oakland. Koffee Pot was only one mile from our Hotel and we were both in the mood for a short walk so we went to check it out. The restaurant itself is tiny with just a few tables and a counter inside and a couple tables outside, but the wait was just a few minutes. We saw a lot of folks come and go as we were enjoying our breakfast and nobody had to wait more than 5 - 10 minutes. Great location to grab a casual weekend breakfast with one or two friends or even have a laid back breakfast with your significant other in a cozy atmosphere. You can take your time if you like or just go in and out and we even saw a lot of folks do take out while we were there. The service is quick and friendly. Given how small the restaurant is you'll have a really easy time getting someone's attention when you need to. The food was pretty good. Nothing exceptional but good ingredients and great taste. The menu is pretty interesting with classic options (e.g. eggs and sausage, eggs benedict, waffles) and Korean options (e.g. eggs and bulgogi, bulgogi sandwich). The prices are also pretty reasonable. We order two main dishes, which came out to $30 with tax. read more

There are only a few outdoor tables available during this challenging Covid time, but even in stormy weather, we were comfortable. Service was great. Even with one person in the kitchen & one server/cashier, the food came out promptly & hot. Our server was very attentive & refilled our coffee twice. I drink my coffee black & wasn't fond of it (it kinda tasted like instant?), but my hubs & niece enjoyed theirs with cream and sugar. We accidentally ordered an additional meal and offered it to a homeless woman. She was very happy and sat at a table nearby. The pictures from other Yelpers led me to this breakfast joint. It's so good. My son had the french toast. It was one of the best french toasts I've ever had. So flavorful and rich. Loved it. I had the bugogi breakfasts with rice and toast. Also really delicious. It had beef, mushrooms, some greens and onions. The rice had furikake on top. A nicely cooked egg. This place is suuuuper small! I came here with my sister and her husband last Saturday around 7:30am. There was another person there still few tables and seats left. We all sat the the "bar" (is this what they call it?), immediately we noticed all the sauces available for us to try. The waiter gave us the menus and I felt like this place is like fused with some Korean like/ Hawaiian like dishes. The food was delicious. It wasn't salty at all and the portions were big. Not sure if there's a bathroom here...I didn't see one. Lol read more

Every single bite was delicious. The coffee that went with the meal was not bad. The place was small and good for party of two or one. Service was really fast and with a smile- very pleasant, seemed like a true family joint. I had the spicy porq breakfast plate, which came with 2 eggs, toast, hashbrowns, and a pile of delicious korean bbq-style pork. The hashbrowns were reminiscent of Art's in Sunset- thin and perfectly crisp. Very filling. My wife had the benedict with no meat, and they happily added more avocado to her plate. The sauce on her benedict was a great smoky chipotle hollandaise, the eggs were cooked perfectly- everything was great!
