First off my cousin and I came in yesterday. Immediately they told us that there was no space that day, as I stood there and watched 5 workers doing NOTHING. Anyways we made an appointment for the next day. So today we walk in for our appointment and the lady at the front gave us dirty looks the whole time. Then she told my cousin to pick a color and she proceeded to start to look at the colors for the acrylic powder. Apparently the lady wrote down that she was getting gel. Then she told my cousin to look at the gel colors, my cousin said that's not what she's getting so she became condescending with my cousin about it talking loudly saying "are you getting GEL or POLISH" repeatedly in her face. Then said "well keep looking since you know so much." to be honest i was in shock at how awful the front desk lady was, I also felt uncomfortable. The guy that did my nails was so nice just they were a bit crooked and kind of thick. Anyways i'm not coming back EVER. read more

****Update**** I went back to get my nails done with another design. After only a few days they started to chip and the nail polish started to come off. I was told by Jackie they would do the entire set over but when I went in, the manager James who doesn't know anything about nails, advised me that he wouldn't charge to redo the nails that were chipping only which wouldn't go with the other nails. Will never return. And neither will my daughter, mother or any of my friends. It was a waste of time and money. I could've made another appointment at another nail salon. I wish you the best but my mom wasn't happy with her nails and even my daughter said they did a half a$$ job on hers. I've heard great things about Koi but had a not so pleasant experience when they first opened years ago. I decided to give it another try. The atmosphere is very nice and I loved that there was a variety of things to watch on nice sized televisions. There was no wait at all, but I definitely will make an appointment for my next visit because I know it was just luck; a few minutes into my gel manicure it immediately became busy. Plus, my tech was Tram who did an excellent job on taking off the horrible gel manicure that I previously got from another salon. I was recommended by a friend to visit Koi Nail Spa, so I called to make an appointment and when I requested the person that I was recommended she was booked. Therefore, I ask who can do dip nails? The person on the phone gave me Kevin's name so she booked me with Kevin. I was a bit disappointed however, I figure out what can go wrong their nails (my prior nail tech did a horrible job). I was a little disappointed that I couldn't see the person I was referred to, but I figure I give Kevin a chance. My appointment was this morning (1/28) at 11:30AM, I waited about 10 minutes give or take. I have to say this was my second time getting dip nails and my first time at Koi Nail Spa. When I arrive at the nail spa I was instructed to sit at Kevin's chair (booth 19) and I sat and waited for him (went over the colors and decided what color to get). Kevin finally sat and introduced himself I had a short conversation with him one thing I told him was "I want my nails to look natural". He continue to work on my nails while I relaxed and listen to the sound of the music (this was a very calming and relaxing environment). I prefer not to carry on a conversation while someone is doing my nails, I prefer a relaxing and calming experience and that's exactly what I received. As Kevin continue with my nails, I watched every move Kevin I watched him remove the dip of my nails. He dipped my nails in acetone and he continue to work on one side then the other. As I watched him work calmly, he hums and sings, and I see a smile on his face. I could see that he loved his job. When he finished my nails, I was extremely thankful for a job well done. Kevin listen to what I said, "I want my nails to look natural" and that's what he did for me (not to thick not to thin, just right). I thanked him for a job well done, he did an excellent job. I mean he took pride in what he did, and he did it well. I told my friend that I will keep Kevin regardless of who she recommended because he did an excellent job! I love my nails. I have just one minor complaint it was at the time of payment. I wasn't instructed that I had to pay at a different register Kevin never walked me upfront to the register (mind you this is my first time at Koi) therefore, I was lost and confused when I arrived at the register. There so much going on, the receptionist was on the phone, clients walking in while others are walking out that the receptionist never acknowledge me. I noticed someone else paying at a particular area, so I assume this is where you pay (command sense) I did have a nice gentleman assist me; nevertheless, I was one happy camper! I started coming to Koi over 7 years ago with a coworker when we both worked right around the corner. She moved to Chicago and I don't work at that location anymore but I still drive to come here. For ME the pedicures last about 2 weeks. And, they keep my feet soft and flip flop ready (hey, it's Florida!). Koi provides a great value - the service is very good and the prices are reasonable. I find Thuy An (pronounced Twee-Ann) is accommodating in scheduling appointments. I'm a busy mom and I appreciate the expedient service and I absolutely never feel rushed. This place is great! I was treated to a gift card for my birthday and came for a pedicure and manicure. I decided to get the upgraded "hot stone" pedicure and it was awesome. Jan spent a good 45 minutes working on my feet. The best part was the massage with hot stones - she rubbed and massaged until I was pretty much falling asleep in the chair. I've been here twice so far. Both times I really enjoyed it! The entire place is clean, and big! They have multiple large TVs to look at while getting your service done! Both times I've had different people and the pedicure had to be one of the best I've ever had. I could have fallen asleep from the massage! My toes look so great each time! I did a regular mani this last time since I'm giving my nails a breather. And the technician was so worried because I had to leave while they were still wet. Someone recommended this nail salon, made an appointment and took a chance I was not disappointed! my manicurist her name was Lily she's 4 feet tall she is the most cutest little young lady. she was adorable didn't speak English but she was very nice, polite, kind, courteous, gentle and I loved it! She literally went so fast that she couldn't keep the file in her hand, so it would scrape my skin instead of my nails. After two days, four of my nails had already chipped. This was my first time going to this establishment. As busy as it was they were able to fit me in for an appointment on a Saturday. I got the French gel done on my toes and French dip on my nails. I've never ever seen someone so these lines with such perfection!! All of the tips are uniform, the dip is not crazy thick like the other places have done for me, and I'm accustomed to some residue I cleaned on the sides of few nails. This was superb!! I'm sorry but if you're a nail tech, and gel polish isn't coming off easily after soaking as your decision is to keep scraping away at them instead of soaking more, you don't know what you're doing. I was in there for an over an hour. It took her five of the thinnest polish layers to come up with this. Once she finished polishing, instead of using a brush and acetone, she decided to take a nail file and file off the excess around my skin and free edge. It had to be the most humiliating thing I've ever experienced. I went in to get the first manicure and pedicure I've had since giving birth to my now five month old. I brought my 2 year old and 5 month old with me. They were both extremely well-behaved. The two-year-old just sat in the stroller, watching Blippi the whole time and the five month old sat on my lap while I got a pedicure not crying once. Towards the end of the pedicure, I put the five month old in the stroller and got up ready to get my nails done, which is when the gentleman doing my toes told me that I couldn't get a manicure because something about if my kids need me and I'll be moving around and he could cut me and I may need to feed the baby. honestly, it was very confusing but after he got done saying what he had to. He told me to head to the front to pay and rushed me while I awkwardly pulled my stroller and walked backwards until the toe nails I had just had done got smeared which at that point I was like no I'm turning around. Once we got to the front, he literally watched me to make sure I was paying and leaving a tip. Then I left and waited for my cousin outside. One of the ladies came out and apologized, offering to do my nails but at that point I wasn't going back in due to the anxiety embarrassment and humiliation, I felt. About an hour and a half later I contacted the manager asking for a refund. To which she told me, she can ask the owner but said it was unlikely. Then a little later she sent me a message telling me that they will not be giving me a refund. zero out of 10 do not recommend. read more

I have tried many nail salons all over, even in a war zone in Iraq and this Salon takes the award for the best. With a friendly greeting upon entering, actually a live person at the counter when you walk in and a quick seating starts the experience off on a positive note. They have 20 Pedicure chairs in a clean clean clean facility. The deluxe pedi is $35 at this time. The staff is amazingly friendly and they take their time to make sure it's done correctly. This used to be my go to nail salon. I stopped coming here for a while because every time I came, I would get cut. I didn't ask for anyone specific anytime. Also, when doing acrylics with gel, I would ask for them to not oversize my nails because a lot of salons tend to do that and make my fingers look fat. Well, they did it anyways and maybe there's a language barrier so they don't understand what I'm asking for but the person who oversized the last time in particular assured me that she wouldn't but she did. I left disappointed that I spent $110 on both my hands and feet and still wasn't satisfied. my mom & i we're in town for my grandfathers funeral so we wanted to get our nails done before the service. i saw this place had good reviews so we went. my first issue was the fact that my technician didn't tell me the shape was 10$ extra and they still charged for it and when i asked if they could take it off they refused. the shape doesn't even look close "coffin" like i'd asked for. my mom got done 30 minutes before me and her nails looked terrible. they had debris caked under the mail and the shape was uneven. i'd show you but they POPPED OFF THREE DAYS LATER!!!!! i wish i could go in for a refund but we live all the way in texas. i hope the owner sees this and compensates us for our terrible experience read more

Went here for a pedicure by Helen and acrylic fill with Kelly. Was going there because I was about to throw a luau and wanted to have a nail design. I called ahead and made an appointment and was told there were two people that are very good at designs. Kelly being one of them. I wanted a palm leaf, that's it. She was unable to produce this after trying 4-5 times. So I just told her never mind the design. My pedicure was amazing, good massage, until we got down to where she tried to get the side skin of my big toe. I had already warned her I filed them the day before and already did that. She kept digging until it hurt & I said please stop. Then when it came time to paint my toenails white with the gel polish that you pay extra for, she just kept layering and layering it on. Got it on the cuticles and was almost done & content with her job until I pointed out all the mistakes. She kept trying to just cover it up with more white paint instead of redoing it. So Kelly had to come over and try to fix it and she tried to use the drill. She also tried to start using the cuticle cutters to cut the side skin beside my big toenail. I yelled out in pain and pulled my toe away and said DO NOT touch that toe again. I had already told her not to do it there TWICE. She seemed irritated and rushed and short. I still had to go to her to have my acrylic fill and they were closing soon. She made my nails too short when I told her I wanted them to be short as she could do with an oval shape. She did square round shape. When I mentioned I had wanted them oval again she said they were too short to do them oval now. Then they charged me full price after all of this. She even charge me to fix a nail after I have been through all of this. Which all she did to fix a nail was take a little extra acrylic and paint it on the side. I finally said something to the girl upon checkout. Then Kelly comes up as if she had always planned to take off $10. Still cost me $95 to get my toe dig into THREE times. And a crappy nail polish job. I used to go here a long time ago when Twe-Ann owned the place. I won't be returning. Learned my lesson! read more

This is my second time at the new location. I went in to get an acrylic fill and polish and found out I got charged an extra $3 to have my nails cut down. First of all, I asked when I walked in how much it was and was told $15 for a fill/polish. Secondly, even if there was a gigantic sign stating that there is a $3 charge for a cut down of natural growth, I believe that to be really out of control and it has nothing to do with the amount, but mostly the principal of charging for that. I believe the point of going to get your nails done/filled is to cut them, fill , file , polish etc. I have been doing my nails for a very long time and I have never had this happen and it boggles my mind that this was even acceptable. " When your nails grow more than normal , we charge for cut down "- Should I expect someone measuring growth before cutting them down ? The fact that a clipper vs a machine was used, has nothing to do with it, it was probably a lot quicker to do with the electric trimmer and safer so I don't see the additional stressful work that went into that. Very disappointed as I was hoping to make this my new place as it is convenient to use during my lunch breaks in order to use my weekends for family time. I did pay the $3, I also left a small tip because the nail tech did do a great job and my nails looked great, but when owning a business if $3 is worth losing a customer, that says a lot more to me than actually doing a good job. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would I am so upset first time I've had my nails done in over two years(I've been dealing with a very sick baby) and was really wanting to go out and pamper myself took my sister a d paid for our nails and they look AWFUL!!!! Every nail is crooked, polish is really messy lots of messed up spots and I asked for something simple just short square nails and my sister asked for hearts for Valentine's Day and he said he was really good at them and they look so bad honestly like upside down ball sacks!!!! And was charged extra for her shape which was just square so I'm confused on that and then $10 for the shitty looking hearts almost $100 and I left in tears they look so so so bad and I couldn't even get them fixed I had to get home so my husband could get to work since he stayed home with our babies....I literally want to cry again just writing this I really couldn't afford this in the first place and not I'm out almost $100 with awful looking nails and can't even afford to get them fixed and I was really needed a little self esteem boost...don't waste your money go some where else!!!! read more

It's been a couple years since I have been here. Made an appointment for 9am. I picked a color and she began a manicure. I asked for a little sparkle on my ring finger. She picked a sparkle that had blue. I told her it did not match, she didn't even bat an eyelash. She proceeded to apply another coat and could have not cared less. She was annoyed, told me she could try to cover it. She applied 5 coats of polish to my ring finger in an attempt to cover the blue sparkle with silver. It's looks awful. She was unwilling to remove it. She filed my nails down incredibly short. I have never had such a bad looking gel manicure. Super sad. Will not be back. read more
