Good place for a quick pick-up quality sushi. I would suggest to order ahead if you are short on time. They are open for lunch with a break to close before dinner. You can get a four piece Cali roll, 2 nigiri of salmon and 2 of tuna, a bit of salad and miso soup for $10.99. Sushi that was supposed to be cold arrived warm and inedible. Same problem with the cooked food, it arrived cold and had to be reheated in order to be edible. The packaging was very poor quality and "sealed" with scotch tape (seriously). Half of our sushi bento had to trashed due to temperatures not being safe to eat. I will say that the salmon was fresh with a soft chewy consistency. - Dynamite Roll | Inside: California roll. On top: baked scallop, crabmeat, and shrimp. Baked scallops were small, but had that distinct oceanic, buttery flavor. Shrimp was sparse and itty bitty, so I can't really say how it tasted. The spicy mayo and eel sauce were both great. Overall, the components of a dynamite roll were there, but I wanted to see more scallops and shrimp on top. He didn't even offer to me or point to the Lunch Specials! But, the food, the presentation and quality was so dam good that I overlooked the young man! I ordered the #8 lunch special which was "Chicken & Shrimp Tempura, along with a hefty size cup of a very tasty miso soup! Like I said, the presentation and quality was excellent, the taste even better! It also had a side of white rice and a small salad with a very tasty dressing on it! Ramen Review - I got the spicy miso ramen and it was DELICIOUS! The broth was so flavorful and it had it was actually spicy unlike some other places I've been. The noodles were delicious and had a good bite; not soggy or bland. The only thing I wished they did better was add more meat. It only had two slices of meat which were really good so next time I'll just pay extra for it since I know it will be worth it. I also got a side of noodles because we usually have extra broth. It was only $2. Lastly, it was very decently priced. I think it was $11 a bowl. Overall, I highly recommend for Ramen. I haven't tried anything else there yet but I'll be back! read more

I haven't been here for years but this was our favorite Sushi hole in the wall spot when we moved to the Mission Viejo area in early 2000s. Always really good quality food ,nice owners, and decent place to get you Sushi fix. I am doing some work in the area so I stop by to get Sushi to go -still very good, friendly service, and food was ready on time. The quality is as I remembered. Just like many restaurants these days, portions are slightly smaller due to rising food costs. I still enjoy their food and will try to support this small business. I love their veggie roll! It's like a vegetarian's version of a spider roll with the tempura asparagus sticking out, and with yummy additions to a typical veggie roll, such as radish and greens! Their yuzu sauce with it is yummy too. They are so fast in preparing rolls, calling ahead helps, but if you come in on a relatively early end of the lunch hour, your rolls will be ready within about 5-10 minutes. My family loves their fusion options, and my daughter loves their philly rolls. The staff is super personable. Last my daughter and I came, I ordered a cuvacado roll, but they just made it a cucumber roll, so I called them to notify. They said they'd put on their list my name and that I would have a replacement Cuvacado roll free of charge next visit, so I appreciated the friendly response and quick resolution. I used to love this place for a quick Japanese food fix but be warned!!! The menu and signs say one price - but they charge you more! I ordered curry katsu that says $12.99 on the sign outside and on the counter - and they were charging me $14.99. A chicken bowl was advertised as $8.99 but she was charging $9.99. My entire bill was going to $5 for three items- I questioned why their prices were different from what I ordered and the girl just looked at me. Food is decent - not as good as it was. Chicken teriyaki was dry and needed more sauce. Curry was super salty, but still delicious- just don't check your blood pressure after. I don't know if I would come back again after all these years. I get in this economy if you have to charge more, but then change your signage! read more
