This is a great new cafe! They offer drinks, acai bowls, taiyaki, and some quick bites. Located in the torrance tavern plaza, almost directly across from it. I got an earl grey milk tea and some taiyaki. The man who seemed to be the owner made great suggestions and he let us try the "magic white boba" since we didn't know what it was. We ended up passing on it but it was nice for him to let us sample it. The taiyaki was made fresh to order and it was nice and crunchy, but also chewy inside. I prefer the red bean over the custard, the two flavors I tried. He upgraded the drink to a large as a promo since they just opened. He also gave us a coupon for BOGO boba and 15% off next visit. I've been looking for a good place to get boba for a while now after Tea Station and a couple other boba places I really loved closed for good during the lockdowns. I love their mocha blend that they make, it's flavorful and hits that nice balance between chocolate and coffee. My husband is half Thai and VERY picky about his Thai teas whether they have boba or not, and his favorite Thai tea boba was at Tea Station--the Thai tea with boba that we got here is the most decent replacement he's found for Tea Station's so far, and he really enjoyed it. They have decent pricing, they also give you a punch card for further orders, and they sell food (which I haven't tried yet but it looks good!) This review is solely based on their hand rolls - So I was really hungry and was between getting their sushi burrito or their hand rolls.. well the hungry hippo in me went with the hand rolls so that I could get multiple ones! I ended up getting 5 and you bet I finished it all! I put these in the order of my favorites and i will say that these rolls were much bigger than I expected! So while I did finish it all, I was honestly kinda full after my third one. The fifth one really put me over, but still no regrets. Spicy Tuna ($4.95) - This one has a real kick to it! I was so surprised at how spicy this actually was. Now I do eat spicy but this has a real kick to it. My friend who handles mild spicy could not handle this. So if you can't handle the heat, I don't recommend it. If you do, then make sure you get this! While it was spicy it had a real nice balance to this. Shrimp Tempura ($4.75) - Shrimp was crispy as I hoped. Nothing terrible about this. Unagi ($6.25) - This wasn't super saucy which I enjoyed. I don't like it when they're smothered in sauce and that's all you get. Not bad. I would order this again. Generous piece of unagi. Ahi Tuna ($4.95) - This tasted very bland to me. I needed soy sauce to eat this one. I didn't care too much for this and this was the first one I hate. I would pass on it. Blue Crab ($6.25) - I got this just to get cause I thought I was going to be THAT hungry but honestly I could've gone without this. The blue crab wasn't sweet and I needed soy sauce on this one too. It was alright and for the higher price, I didn't think it was worth it. I wish there was one of these around my area. I would definitely go more often since the other (more expensive) hand roll places aren't really doing hand rolls. They're cutting them up. With the covid outbreak, we were looking for food to pick up for our family, parents, and brother's family that wasn't communal dishes, so we decided to check this place out and we were SO GLAD we did! CUSTOMER SERVICE- They were SO HOSPITABLE!!! I asked if they could get there a little early so we could pick up our order right when they open, and they agreed! Brian took my super long order on the phone and was super kind and patient! He and his mom really thought out what to put in my dad's chicken bowl with his digestion problems so I didn't have to stress. :) And not only was our food ready on time, but they gave us complimentary taiyaki! FOOD- The sushi burritos and the bowls were DELICIOUS!!!! My burrito was such a perfect balance of flavor, great texture, and crisp greens. The taiyaki were YUMMMMM- perfectly crusted on the outside and soft and warm on the inside! We had the red bean ones but I can imagine all the other flavors being just as delicious! My family had brought some food home from this place before so I was looking forward to trying a few different items. Something I didn't expect was a SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICE of adding an additional fee on take out items. I've posted a picture of my receipt so you can see the 50 cent charges on items "to go". Now if it's posted on the menu or by the cash register, there's nothing to cry about but when you've already ordered and glance at your receipt to find the equivalent of a Vegas Resort Fee hidden in there, I call out SHADY! Got the big burrito and a couple of the hands rolls. The big burrito is basically a super-sized hand roll with more ingredients. You get to pick 2 proteins from a list and several other ingredients as well. It tastes pretty good but the bottom got soggy fast and it fell apart and became messy to eat. KC popped up on my activity search earlier this week as a hot & new restaurant. I was initially concerned about its concept but since the name is a cafe, not tea/boba shop, I flagged it for my weekend lunch. I ran an errand prior to stopping by & misread the opening hour: 12:00 PM so we wandered the plaza & found something that I've been searching for to kill about 30-mins. We popped back over at noon, & ordered 2 BIG BURRITOS: SPICY TUNA (spicy tuna, 1/2 white rice + 1/2 mixed greens, cucumbers, pickles, green & red onions, imitation crab, daikon, masago, wasabi, sprouts, crispy fried onions, tempura flakes, spicy mayo) & SPICY TUNA & SALMON (spicy tuna, salmon, 1/2 white rice + 1/2 mixed greens, cucumbers, pickles, green & red onions, imitation crab, daikon, ginger, masago, wasabi, sprouts, crispy fried onions, tempura flakes, sesame seeds, wasabi mayo), SALMON HAND ROLL, & THAI TEA WITH MAGIC WHITE BOBA. The burritos are delish & quite generous with the protein in comparison to the infamous Jogasaki Sushi Burrito, a definite better value that actually leaves you feeling satisfied! The spicy tuna had some heat to it, probably because I asked for "extra spicy." =D My husband also enjoyed his burrito with a slightly milder version; he likes this as an alternative to our fav poké joint. H liked her hand roll but still felt hungry; she said a 2nd roll might have filled her up. Her younger bro (4 YO) isn't quite ready for the hand rolls but it would make a meal for the younger set. It's not exactly kid-friendly but my son likes to drink teas (like jasmine, oolong, goddess, green, etc.) & can drink them naturally without added sugar. M gave KC's tea a thumbs up... he approves! ;-) Service is friendly but a tad slow (our order took about 30-mins.); however, our cashier personally served my Thai Tea while I waited & informed me that they're finishing up the hand roll. Price points are fair/competitive to the area. It's only been 2 weeks since the grand opening so there's definite room for improvement, which will happen once they get streamlined. And there's plenty of free parking at the plaza. The cafe has enough variety for almost everyone... I just need to expand my LO's horizons but he loves their Thai Tea, & it's quite strong for a 4 YO. Was not expecting the fish to be cooked. Slightly disappointed and do not recommend. The blue crab hand roll was quite good though. Overall, the rice and seaweed were pretty decent. Also had the sushi burrito. This was quite good. It was filled generously and ended up being quite tasty and filling. I highly recommend the spicy tuna. Thumbs up here. Disappointed with the miso soup. Flavor was very light and tasted watered down. Could have used more miso to add body. The taiyaki were quite good and a decent value when you purchase a pack of 5 (for $10). All were quite tasty - taro, red bean, custard (needed a little more), nutella. Definitely eat as soon as they are ready. I actually did not mind them being soft and chewy when I tried them at home. I would have posted comments about my Special Roll, but when I got home it was not in my bag. Was told all my sushi were in one bag and the taiyaki in another. On that note, they were about to send me off without my miso soup, but I caught that one and had to wait an extra couple of minutes for it to be made and finished. I just went (Saturday at 5:45pm) and the man who helped me was SO awesome! He really put the effort in to make sure my order was just right! My boyfriend and I had baked salmon burrito with no rice, salmon and teriyaki chicken bowl, green tea with boba, black tea with yogurt, and taiyaki (red bean & chedder cheese). We both loved their bowl and burrito - You can tell that they use fresh ingredients and don't try to cheat you out on ingredients; they are super fulfilling. If you like teriyaki chicken and salmon, definately give it a try; their dishes are better than lunch special at a sushi restaurant. For tea, they hand brew it at the shop so it's got a pretty strong flavor and freshness. Their boba is really chewy as well. We also tried taiyaki with red bean and chedder cheese filling. My friend and I decided to try out this store since the price look cheap and we were in the area. They have a build your own boba option here. You start with picking a base and then adding up to 2 flavors. At the end, you can also choose to add toppings if you want. I decided to keep it simple with a large jasmine milk tea with boba. Upon my first sip, I thought the drink hasn't bad. The jasmine tea flavor is strong. However after more sips, I noticed that the drink isn't creamy at all. There was not much of a milky taste to it. Although the tea flavor was there, the drink still taste watered down. For the boba pearls, the consistency was chewy however there was no taste to it so it feels like I'm just chewing on rubber.
