Nice little place located in a strip mall at the corner of 116th and Guilford Road. I've had a variety of the Kolaches, but my favorites are the egg/ham and egg/bacon varieties. They'll heat them up for you and these especially hit the spot for breakfast. They also serve croissants.... I've had the ham and cheese and it was good. Coffee is available and has always been freshly brewed. Service is good, too. There's also a dining area which looks pretty nice, but I've always gotten carryout. Been hearing about this place from my friends for awhile and finally got around to stopping by. Holy cow these things are good! I got a bunch of the fruity ones (which were delicious but not all that interesting) and also a lot of the filled ones, and those blew me away. We tried a lot of different kinds and each one was wonderful. It's amazing how much flavor they fit in those little dough balls! My grandma was Czech and used to make us kolacky. It's so nice that we have a place in town you can buy them. Kolache Factory has both savory and sweet options. My husband's work gets them catered sometimes, and I always try to get him to bring me one. It's nice that you can get them shipped, because the only storefronts in Indy are on the North side and I live on the South side. read more

Absolutely love the food here but the service leaves a lot to be desired and the fact they don't have Wi-Fi really stinks because you want to be able to sit and savor time here and I came in to enjoy a cuppa coffee and look at my emails and there's no Wi-Fi. Food is great but customer service is very poor. All items will be put into the same box. One would think meat containing items would be separate from non meat items but they won't be. Workers are always very rude when you ask for clarification on how to identify items and have always have trouble explaining it to me. Wish they would reconsider packing of large orders. read more

They are always out of the kolaches I want. I call ahead every time I go to make sure they'll be there and then they aren't there. These Kolaches aren't even nearly as good as any of the original Texas branches. If you're from Texas do not come here, they will be perpetually out of sausage and cheese kolaches every time and if they aren't they'll be subpar. Never even roll to sausage ratio. read more

Kolache? Never heard of it. After finding this place, I am a convert. The jalapeno cheese kolache was the perfect mix of salty and vinegary pickled jalapenos. The sausage kolache was a little surprising. I was expecting breakfast sausage and it turned out to be kielbasa type sausage but, it was good, just a little surprising at 7 a.m. (granted my other one was jalapeno so why am I complaining). Also tried a strawberry smoothie which was quite good, comparable to a Dunkin Donuts smoothie. read more

We received absolutely terrible service. The guy serving us was so slow, and not grabbing our kolaches as we ordered, so by the time he got around to it, the ones we ordered and had paid for were sold out. They offered to make more, but it would have taken quite a long time, thus killing the convenience factor. Hence, we didn't get what we ordered and not everyone in our party got to eat. Love the Kolache Factory! They always have a good selection even later in the day. I think the staff is always friendly and helpful. I like to eat them warm and they have microwaves there, but they are also making them in the back throughout the day. I've had to wait 5-10 minutes for a certain kolache I really want, but that's my choice since I love the chicken ranchero and get it every time. read more

I described my Italian chicken kolache to a coworker as meat and cheese in a yummy bread ball... Don't hesitate to get it in your mouth. So good. I also had a chocolate cream cheese kolache, because how could I not? The people there were crazy nice, too... offered suggestions on their favorites and were very friendly. It's carb heaven for sure. The koulache reminds me of a cross between siopao (Chinese) and Empanada (Latin). Great little place and each item is filling and definitely priced right. Food quality is always good, but quality of service is inconsistent. Feel like it should be part of their job to ask if you want the items heated. Sometimes we will have Kolache's at work for a once a month meeting. This morning I stopped in for the first time, since I drive by it everyday, to get myself one. When I got to work and warned it up and started eating it, I realized the bottom layer was still raw. I called to let them know. All I got was ok I'll let the owner know. I'm highly upset with your store 9650. I went in to order 12 of your Kolaches and was told I could only get what was on display. It was an order for a company, I couldn't just "choose" what they wanted. I will keep our business from purchasing orders from you guys in the future. Very poor customer service. Ok, I have to admit...I had to Google what a kolache was. Be honest, did YOU really know what it was? Ok, ok...maybe you did. Anyway...I wasn't sure what to expect. I just knew I was getting some sort of baked-pastry-bread-thingy filled with...stuff. Well, it was good. Some better than others (yeah, I had more than a few...don't judge me) but in general they're all pretty good. Are they the best thing I've ever tasted? No. But they're still pretty tasty. They're the kind of thing you're not overly impressed with at first, but then a day or two later you find yourself craving a kolache. The place itself is nice and clean. Service has been good every time I've been there. And I think the price is very reasonable. 2-3 of these and a coffee would make an excellent breakfast. I do wish they stayed open later because I find myself wanting a kolache after work sometimes. So boo to their 2pm closing time! read more
