So disappointed. We tried it for the first time. We've walked by many times and we were hoping for a new good spot in the neighborhood. The peppers were not flavorful and undercooked. The tequila shrimp was over cooked and way too salty. We sent the salmon back because it was way over cooked and the seasoning was terrible. I don't know about how the food taste or how the tequila taste but they have the cutest add outside explaining the benefits of drinking tequila. So when I walked in I asked about their specials for Friday samplers of tequila. The bartender looked at me saying , "I don't normally work on Friday so I don't know what Fridays has. " I said to him, "today is Friday." He replied , "Yes, you're right I have no idea what the specials are for the Friday tequila flights." There was only two tables with people so it was dead on a Friday night. This bar/restaurant combo is a sweet little addition to the Naples area of Long Beach. I've been several times in the past two years and I've never once had a bad experience. The staff are funny and professional. The food was cooked to perfection (my favorite are the bacon wrapped shrimp) and I've had the best margaritas. My favorite bartender/server is a refreshing and vibrant addition to the experience there. I always feel welcome and I'm ever inspired by her fresh view in different margarita types. After having her service and drinks, I could not see myself ordering a run of the mill kind made from a mix. She makes everything fresh and the difference is evident. Pretty disappointed. 2nd visit right before Christmas. We made a reservation since it was the weekend before Christmas. Food was average. $12 is the min for a margarita which was in a small glass like a highball glass, packed to the brim with ice. We then ordered a pitcher (over $30) which was also solid ice to the brim. We barely got 4 small WEAK margaritas out of a pitcher. It's a lot of money and no value. Not sure we will return. We stopped here on our way to see the Christmas lights on Naples Island. A pleasant surprise for sure. I had the Margarita and my husband the Cadillac Margarita. We both enjoyed the drinks very much. I had the fish ceviche. It looked small but loaded with fresh chunks of fish and veggies. So yummy. My husband had the tortilla soup with chicken and it was flavorful and not spicy. The carnitas tacos were delicious. Loved the little crunchiness on the ends of the pieces of meat. And the chips and salsa were perfect. read more

We've been going to Komo's for at least 2 years. The service is always terrible but the food is usually worth waiting for. Tonight, however, the food didn't make up for the poor service. They weren't very busy so there was no real reason for the slow service and the hour it took to receive our food. My favorite dish is the Carne asada enchiladas,which are usually delicious. Tonight they were soupy with very little Carne asada. Maybe it was just a bad night but we won't go back. read more

Really wanted to like this place, but came away disappointed. Not because of service, like other reviewers have mentioned, but because of the food. Lots of 5 star reviews on this place, so maybe there are some really tasty treats on the menu, but our experience was not up to par. From the outset, everything we tasted, except the albondigas soup, seemed like it needed a touch of salt to bring out the flavor. The salsa, the guac, the beans, the fish, the rice...all of it needed some kind of help. And if you feel so good about the seasoning on your food that you don't put salt and pepper on the table, I feel like you need to get it right. Please don't get me wrong, I understand not wanting to over salt the food. There are a lot of restaurants that do, and I'm not a fan them. And I appreciate attempt to add other seasonings instead of salt, just feel like there could have been more. Now if you want to say, "well that's why we provide the house made chili oil". Hmmm... I get it, but I don't want to add oil to my food to add flavor. Sorry. Finally, a quick test. Name a Mexican dish where you get your choice of meat, served with grilled onions and peppers on a cast iron skillet with toppings and tortillas on the side. Sounds like fajitas to me! For Komo's, that's a taco platter. Not a "build your own" taco platter. Just "taco platter". Honestly, when the dish first came to our table, I pulled out my phone to look up the menu online and make sure I didn't make a mistake. If you want to serve fajitas, then call them fajitas on the menu! The presentation was great (see pic), even if the skillet wasn't sizzling when it arrived at the table. Just don't understand why you are trying to trick me into ordering fajitas, by calling them tacos. read more

The Queso Fundido is delicious and a must try. We tried the enchiladas and tacos which were also good. The service was nice and the tequila choices were plentiful I knocked a star off because I felt the meat could've been juicier (I'm Latin so I'm a snob). It's no Lola's or Los Compadres but so far the best Mexican on this side of town. It was my birthday and the chef came out and wished me happy birthday. This is an interesting find near the Belmont Shores area of Long Beach. The appetizer highlight is the unique, decadent Queso Fondito, a gooey blend of melted cheese with chorizo (it comes with tortillas and chips.) I always judge a good Mexican place by its salsa and guacamole, and both are good, standard issue. The small menu includes several appetizers and a finite list of main courses. We enjoyed the tacos ($4 apiece) which include a choice of chicken, carne asada, veggie, and sriracha sweet potato (yum). The margaritas are solid-- on the rocks and not blended; with many fruit-infused varieties. The place is small, and reservations don't work that well. Loved this little spot! Great Happy Hour, great service and great authentic mexican food with a modern flair. Stopped in here for happy hour one day and although we were worried we wouldn't be able to be seated (because we had our Boston Terrier service dog with us) they welcomed us with open arms. Since they tend to have the front balcony door closed, we were pleasantly surprised to see that if opened, it opens up the whole wall facing the street!! We were seated at the closest table near the door since it was the only table they can have service dogs at. Our server was so sweet and in fact went out of her way to make us feel at home. The food was delicious and their grapefruit margarita was the PERFECT blend of salty / sweet!! It is a tiny restaurant though, so opening the balcony door really brought in the sunlight and bay breeze. 4 stars for great food, service and drinks.... I'd give it 5 if the balcony doors were open more often. If they were the first time we saw this spot, we would've stopped in sooner! I've been coming since August 2020 and they never fail with their awesome customer service ! Even through the new updates with covid and as busy as they become they make sure to frequently assist you throughout your visit. All the workers are so sweet and kind love them! Next let's get to the food! Tasty and inexpensive! If your going for appetizers and drinks they have a happy hour Monday-Sunday 3-7pm Yass and recommend there Fundido cheese dip with chorizo, elote you can even just stick with salsa and chips for appetizers you'll be satisfied! This review is long overdue. My friend was visiting from Boston (huge patriots fan- not me)and we decided to give this place a try. It was actually superbowl day in February and the weather was just beautiful. The restaurant is located near the water right by the canals and gorgeous mansions. We walked in and was greeted by an awesome staff. The place was super cute and pretty packed. I thought it was surprising that they weren't charging an entrance fee for the Superbowl. The place had a huge television screen right in front of the bar and another on the side. We sat at the bar and Binde was our main bartender. She was super friendly and sweet! Not sure if they had a special superbowl men, but she recommended that we get the tacos, I had one vegetable taco and another chicken taco. The veggie taco was SOOOOOO DELICIOUS!!! Once I had one I ordered four more, YES it was that good!! They had so many yummy food items on the menu that I wanted to try it all. The guy sitting next to me ordered a dish which looked like fries with cheese and carne asada meat. That looked good too, so I'll get it next time. Binde also made us the best drinks ever!! I told her I don't like anything that's too sweet and she really made it exactly the way I like it. I had about three drinks too because I was addicted to those veggie tacos lol. Hey at least it's healthy so I didn't feel guilty eating so many. Binde knew we were new to the area and told us about the canals just walking distance down the street. She told us it's a great place to take pics. She was 2 for 2 for the other recommendations so we decided to listen and check it out. We ended up having a photoshoot there haha! Not sure why anyone would dine at this place, ordered the fish tacos and they were terrible! Sorry to be so blunt about it but worst tacos of my life. Also, asked what kind of non-alcoholic beverages they had and the waitress was super rude!! The queso fundido was drowning in grease and had huge chunks of some type of mysterious meat...definitely NOT chorizo. I would love to come by and give them a lesson on Mexican cuisine because I'm not sure what type of food they are serving. read more

I've walked by this place dozens of times, but never gone in. It never seems to be too crowded. But we finally came in for taco Tuesday. The place was crowded but there was still open tables. The staff seemed overwhelmed and we had to flag someone down just to get menus after being there for a while. The taco Tuesday deal, $2 per taco, was incredible. The tacos were good sized and really tasty. The asada was a little well done, but still good. The pastor was the clear best, super juicy and flavorful meat. But the carnitas were also great. The chips and bland, thin salsa wasn't a great start, but easy to get over. The queso duo was really good, but we didn't get it until after finishing our tacos. Couldn't get a refill on drinks the entire meal either. So the service problems were bad enough to knock down the rating one star. But the food was great and we plan to go back for taco Tuesday again. read more

We've visited this restaurant 4 times, and after the last two, we won't be back. The first two visits everything was excellent. I raved about it to friends. Both times were on a Sunday (early afternoon), and our server was Aaron. There were probably only two other tables in the restaurant besides us, and this worked to our favor because there were only two people working...in the whole restaurant!!! One single server and one single person in the kitchen. This is going to be ok if there are three tables of 2-3 people, but otherwise everyone is screwed. It became painfully obvious on our third visit (this time on a Thursday) that when there are more than 3 tables with more than 3 people, it ain't gonna work. You can't expect a single person to make and juice limes for margaritas and wait on 5 separate tables and have it be done in a timely manner. It's not possible. So the poor girl we had waiting on us was continually apologizing for the "delay." The chef was clearly different than the last two times because our food looked drastically different, and not in a good way. All the condiments for the tacos were missing, and they forgot the meat for my husbands enchiladas. Our fourth and final visit we decided to go back on a Sunday and hoped maybe Aaron could better multitask, but we find out he is gone. This time the restaurant is busier, and there is still ONE PERSON working the entire dining area. After waiting close to 15 minutes for two drinks, the girl was in such a rush to make my "pear and cilantro" margarita she literally took an entire bunch of cilantro stems and all, and just shoved it into a glass with tequila. I couldn't even drink it. Dying of thirst, we literally had to ask for waters on 4 separate occasions. Then the food we got was pretty much un-edible. Unseasoned smashed avocado that couldn't even pass for guacamole got thrown together in 30 seconds while the single cook was making food for a party of 7 next to us, and the refried beans were so old and so dry my husband had to spit them back out. I don't blame any of our problems with this restaurant on their staff. It is whomever is doing the staffing that is solely responsible. You cannot expect consistency with two employees. We cannot, and that is why we won't be back. read more

5 stars for the margaritas (they really are the best I've had). Super fresh and STRONG. I like the chips and salsa. The chips are thick and yummy. 3 stars for the food and wait time. This place has been so inconsistent. I kept saying I wouldn't go back after a few times of getting messed up orders, LONG wait times when there was no one in the restaurant, undercooked fish after I asked for well done...this place is not cheap mind you. I don't ever mind paying extra for food if it's good and done how I want it but they never make it how I ask. I've had too many $75/$100 bills there with sh*tty food, and I'm tired of wasting my money. I really wanted to like this place because I frequent the bars on Naples but I've had too many bad experiences there to eat a sit down meal. Get the margaritas, skip the food. read more

We really want to like this place & we know it's new so we are going to give it another try. But...tonight, we were not impressed. Our 15 minute wait for a table was 45 minutes if not an hour. We ordered drinks that required several follow ups before they arrived. The Slow Heat was tasty. The Pear Cilantro was not pear as one would think of a Bartlett type pear. It arrived a purplish hue & when I asked the server he agreed it looked strange as though they had used pomegranate in error. After checking, it turns out it is DESERT pear which is actually a cactus (the prickly pear cactus-no relation to out friend the Bartlett pear). They use a sweet desert pear syrup rather than the pear nectar the drink menu promises. Very disappointing & misleading. We then ordered the tuna salad. It looked great & things were looking up! Until we tasted it and found it had a mustard or wasabi like sauce on it. Very weird flavor to find at a Mexican restaurant. Probably delicious if one likes mustard and/or wasabi but I do not. We decided to cut our losses at this point & cash out. We'll wait a few months & try again before write off Komos. We really want to like this place. read more
