I pulled an all nighter and watched as they opened up shop, so I knew I was going to get FRESH of the FRESH bagels. I ended up trying their chocolate chip bagel with blueberry cream cheese. Maaaaaaaaaaan. This was some next level bagel stuff. It was chewy, doughy, had a good bite to it, with the smack of chocolate chips. It was spectacular. Finger looking GOOD. The cream cheese.?.?? I never steer away from plain cream cheese. But I took my chances. I put my big girl pants on and tried a new flavor. And woOoOoOowwwwyyyyy it was good. And it paired with the chocolate chip bagel so weelllllll. I've also had their tuna bagel beforehand and that one is just as good. A little different but definitely a good tuna salad bagel. 10/10 I love this location and their bagels. Location is small with very limited seating inside and outside. They have self serve coffee as well inside. Parking in the plaza.

I think these breads and pastries are nice, but what brings the fifth star is when they use their breads for sandwiches. My wife ordered a blanco toast, which had ricotta, avocado, and a bunch more flavor bombs over freshly baked sourdough toast. I highly recommend their 'works" bagel sandwich. I had it on a sesame seed bagel with a very tasty scallion cream cheese. What made it amazing was their use of perfectly ripened, sweet heirloom tomato, thinly sliced red onions, briny capers, delicious olive oil, and fresh dill, that gave perfect balance and perfect seasoning. We sat at a communal bench/table to enjoy our breakfast items (which they stop serving after 10:30); however, we noticed that others were eating some delicious-looking sandwiches served on their fresh baguettes. I know that I have to come back for those!

The blueberry bagel with blueberry compote was outstanding and one of our favorites. We ordered a large spread of bagels, heirloom tomatoes, vegetables, and accompaniments for a pre-wedding "getting ready" brunch with the bride and bridal party. Everything was beautifully packaged and ready for pickup on time, complete with utensils, napkins, and everything we needed to serve and enjoy the meal. The food was fresh, flavorful, and perfect for our special occasion. We'd definitely order from Laila's again when we're in Santa Monica.

[Parking]: The cafe is located in the same parking lot as Vons and I haven't had any issues finding available parking spots during my visits. [Atmosphere]: Nothing to write home about and the interior decor was meh. I initially thought it was a donut shop, but they mostly sell breakfast sandwiches, croissants, and cookies now. There are few tables both indoors and outdoors. [Ordering]: Order at the counter, receive a buzzer, grab a table, and pick up your order at the counter when the buzzer rings. [Menu]: They sell breakfast sandwiches, deli items, cookies (e.g. ube) and coffee drinks. Yelp's top recommendation is breakfast sandwiches. Customers need to choose a style (e.g. Original Breakfast), bread (e.g. croissant), and meat (e.g. bacon). The staff recommended the bacon breakfast croissant. For drinks, the store has a sign stating Caramel Ice Coffee, Vanilla Latte, Matcha Latte, Fruit Tea, Cream Foam Thai Tea, and Vietnamese Iced Coffee. *** Original Breakfast (meat, egg, Swiss cheese, tomato, avocado - bread = croissant + meat = bacon - $13.65): Soft croissant and I was a fan of the fillings - two thumbs up. Almond Croissant ($5.35): Interesting croissant and not what I was expecting as it had almond paste filling rather than almond slices. The bread was fluffy but a bit cold. *** Overall this is a solid café for locals to stop by. P.S. - Redondo Beach Dog Park is just around the corner.

My daughter had to be at her meet by 6:45, so I showed up at 6:15 to pick up some bagels for breakfast. No one was in there when I arrived but the employees seemed to be working on take out orders already. Their menu had the right amount of breakfast type of bagel sandwiches that I was looking for - a bagel with cream cheese, a bagel & egg only sandwich, and a bacon, egg, and cheese bagel. The bagel consistency was nice and chewy. The only qualm was with hubby's order. I asked for easy on the cream cheese and his bagel ended up with A LOT of it on his bagel so he had to scrape it off. Usually I'd eat the extra cream cheese but I had a bagel breakfast sandwich instead. *Note for next time: Get the bagel sliced and toasted with the cream cheese on the side I also picked up a loaf of their sourdough bread. Hubby is picky about sourdough but he really enjoyed the tang/flavor of their bread. It would definitely be somewhere to stop by when we're passing through or in the area again.

Bagels are chewy and very flavorful. We usually buy a half dozen with a cream cheese tub and toast them at home. What we don't eat that day go in the freezer. The staff does an adequate job taking orders but it always amuses me how 3 varieties of 6 bagels becomes a memory challenge that requires multiple times repeating the order. This has been true at every one of the half dozen bagel shops we have visited. There is plenty of parking behind the store and the seating inside is adequate as well. The electronic menu boards suffer from the same shortcoming that every establishment that uses them. You need to wait until the screen that you want to read pops up again. Would recommend for great bagels. At this point, haven't tried the sandwiches or anything else on the menu except for the rye bread loaf which didn't pack the same punch as the bagels.

One of the things I haven't mentioned was that the restaurant was very crowded during my first visit. I also don't have as much experiance writing reviews at around the time when I gave the rating. But I firmly believe that the reasoning for the three star was because of my conflicted thoughts with the tasting aspect of the food, I felt that the green garden avacado toast egg sandwich which lacked in flavor along with the cinnamon muffin. So in short, I didn't really enjoy the food personally. But objectively, the experiance was very well--Which is why I am changing my rating. As I have previously mentioned on the last review--I did, however, enjoy the ambiance of the place. The decor and overall concept is quite amazing. The cafe had a contemporary vibe and the patterns were unique in a way that made it stand out. The service was also good, had no concerns regarding the staff. But to sum everything up, I do believe that a four would be a more reasonable rating than the previous. But I did decide to give the place another try and did end up enjoying it, along with understanding more about writing reviews. So I sincerely apologize for giving the place a low rating without explaining specifics.
