In town for a conference. Stopped by on a Tuesday in February at 830a. Very small, single barista working solo. Super cute, barista working diligently and carefully. Pretty busy so he was hopping, seemed to be a lot of regulars. Ordered an iced chai latte and a pistachio muffin. I prob ordered poorly. The chai was made with milk and a chilled pitcher of chai. It was very weak, a bit too much milk but more than any missing really any chai flavor. The muffin was pretty but tasted like it was from a commercial bakery like a grocery store. Price was ok $9 something and other items looked/smelled great. If it was less busy I would have asked for some recommendations and prob had a better experience overall. read more

Cute coffee shop. I really wanted to love this spot but I did not like the roast and I was very underwhelmed. I got an oat milk latte (with cinnamon and honey) but I was told I had to add the cinnamon and honey myself which I thought was strange. I knew immediately my latte would not be what I was expecting. The coffee was weak at best, it honestly tasted like a steamer. I was really in the mood for a good robust oat milk latte (that involved my barista adding in the cinnamon and honey)... there just wasn't any semblance of a coffee flavor for me, I was definitely disappointed. It's been a while since I updated my "I Hate Starbucks" list, so for my first review of 2023, I may as well give it up to one of my favorite Philly spots for grab-and-go coffee and tasty treats! Konditori knew exactly what I was looking for when I first saw the large coffee sign outside, and it's a spot I would go to on a more regular basis if it weren't a tiny space without any seating. But when I'm in the Rittenhouse Square area and I need a quick caffeine fix I go here to enjoy one of the best red eyes in Philly! Their Swedish roast is definitely one of the smoothest coffee blends that I've enjoyed, and it goes perfectly with a shot of espresso. But out of curiosity I also had to try the iced Swedish tonic which ended up being a weird but refreshing mix of iced coffee and tonic water. But they also make damn good lattes, especially if you like mocha, matcha, or maple flavors! While the pastry options are a bit minimal they make up for it with the variety of Swedish sweets that they hook up. You can't go wrong with the cardamom bread w/ marzipan for a sweet treat that isn't overkill. But if you're looking for a sweet bite that also delivers a wake-up call then you might go cuckoo for their Swedish cocoballs with coffee and chocolate! read more

I often passed this place, but I was finally able to go in and give it a try. It is a small place, and unlike the original meaning of konditori they did not have much pastries or sweets. Maybe it was because I went there in the mid afternoon, but the place was very quiet. I ordered decaf latte with almond milk. It did taste good, but felt the espresso was not strong enough to balance with almond milk. Definitely not bad, but I wish it was a bit stronger. I would come back and try their other drinks. It is at one of the prime location in center city so it would be good to see this survive this pandemic. read more

I usually stop by this Konditori when I'm downtown for work or just need a quick pick-me-up in Center City! The staff has always been the highlight for me. They're really friendly and outgoing in my experience! It's a cute little shop that's meant for grab-and-go, even pre-pandemic. Their espresso drinks are usually well-executed (a nicely-extracted shot, good milk temp/texture). I'd say their coffee has a more traditional flavor, which may appeal more to traditional coffee palettes, so if you like "coffee" coffee, but want a less commercialized coffee shop vibe, Konditori will fill that need! It's easy to miss this shop, but I definitely recommend supporting them if you're in the area! I know there are a lot of options, but we've never had a bad drink there, and their staff is awesome! If you are going to have great tasting espresso drinks with milk art and an awesome little corner coffee bar with a red door than you better have one superior shop name; like Konditori. It's pronounced Khan-da-tor-ree and it means a place where friends meet or a where one goes for a coffee break. The shop was pretty busy when I dropped in for a cortado. The gentleman taking the orders was also making the drinks. He nailed my cortado and even took the time for some milk art. The wait was short. All drinks are for takeout. There is no indoor seating. I went to Konditori and ordered a matcha latte and a regular latte. The worker made two regular lattes, but called out that one was the matcha latte. I checked--because my family member can not have caffeine due to a medical condition--and he said they were out of matcha. I told him the person couldn't drink what he made and to please just refund us for the one drink. He offered us a pastry instead and other caffeinated drinks: my family member is also gluten free. I asked again for him to just refund us for the one drink. He refused. I had to call my credit card company to contest the charge. Would never recommend this place. Pretty good coffee and decent prices. I have never been to a Swedish coffeehouse. I believe my coffee here was the first time I tried Swedish coffee. I liked it. It was strong yet smooth. I would definitely go back for a cup. The space is small and only has window counter seats, but they are nice additions to center city. I like the map on the wall. I just wish the spots were bigger.
