    Taro milk tea
    Vincent M.

Looking for a little evening treat and searched for bubble tea. Kong Dog looked interesting and I gave it a shot. Neat location, pretty extensive menu, and a really friendly staff. I kept it simple with a purple taro milk tea. Skipped the boba this time. I'd go with the drink being ok. While the flavor was good, I felt like it was heavy on the milk and light on the taro portion. Even trying to mix it a bit, it seemed like by the time I was about half way through the drink, there wasn't a lot of the taro flavoring left and was primarily the milk. I'm interested to give it another shot as well as some of the food menu.

We had an awesome experience here today! Came in around 12:30 and had lunch with my hubby. We tried the potato dog one with cheese and one with half beef half mozzarella. They were amazing! We sat in and the girl behind the counter was so patient with us because we hadn't had a Korean hot dog before. We both got combos and the lemonades are AMAZING! The flavors are bomb. For $21 we both left super full. The fries were fresh and crisp. The dogs themselves were huge and amazing! I can't wait to go back and try more. The vibe was fun and there was K-pop playing on tvs as well as others trying Kong dogs. The owner came out and sat with us and told us the go tos and what his favorite things were. We said we were excited to come back and try the chicken tenders and he told us they're all hand made and battered. That they marinate overnight. He also gave us some of the spicy mayo and crunched up hot Cheetos to try. He was so nice! Then as we were walking out he chased us to the car with two tenders for us to try! He said he made them fresh and wanted us to try them before we left. We will most definitely be back. Everything about this place was awesome!

I love going to Kong Dog to eat! It's my new favorite place. This time I ordered the 6 pack of Korean Corn Dogs. I got the Spaghetti , Hot Cheetos, Regular, Churros , and Doritos. They were all so delicious and tasty. I loved the generous portions of toppings. Staff is amazing and friendly. They give awesome suggestions too. Place is fun, I love watching the KPOP dance videos. For drink I got a bubble tea and Strawberry lemonade. They were refreshing. I also tried the pork dumplings, and they were top notch. I can't wait to go again! Kong Dog is a blast and food is good!

This place is amazing! SO happy this opened in the area. A much needed break from fast food and far more delicious. Service was nice and friendly. The manager/owner is always walking around asking how the food is and always welcoming. Ambiance is very Korean pop. LOVE IT! This is my new favorite place. See you there!

    Raw dough

My first bite was great. I was excited. Then as I got deeper into the dog I realized I'm just eating a hotdog with straight up raw dough all around it. So disgusting. The breading is way too thick. So thick that it didn't cook through. This is not acceptable. Such a waste of money. I pulled the hot dog out so I could eat something for lunch and left the rest of the goopy raw dough.

It's a new joint for Korean snacks, korean fried chicken, Tteokbokki, boba, smoothies and of course Korean styled corn dogs. The cashier helping us today was very attentive. And food came out fast. Korean fried chicken (boneless popcorn chicken) was so nice and super crunchy. It didn't feel greasy at all. Rose Tteokbokki came with sliced hotdogs and fish cake. We added boiled egg and cheese. Delish. Highly recommended this place.

First time at this location, mini says it's "cussin bussin" lol. The staff at this location are really sweet and personable. The location is clean, inviting and your order will be rendered in a timely manner. They have specials, and an app and the restrooms are spacious and sanitary.

This is my second time visiting Kong Dog, and I had a great experience both times! Staff are super friendly and the food is amazing! The corn dogs are made fresh to order, so they're very crispy and delicious. We tried the chicken fingers for the first time, and they were fried to perfection, and the sauce that it comes with is also very good. I highly recommend!

So we decided to try the new spot, instead of going to Panera. We won't make that choice again. From what I understand this place has been open only a few months. That's reflected in food and atmosphere. We had some good things and some bad things. I'm actually shocked I don't have food poisoning though. We went yesterday, Labor Day Monday 9/2/2024 our order was number 8. We got a potato dog, a sweet chili Doritos dog, mango slushie, lemonade, potstickers and fries. 3 sauces. Korean BBQ (don't even consider this), teriyaki (normal teriyaki sauce) and garlic Serrano (EAT THIS SAUCE!!! Delicious and flavorful) So. We as Americans expect corn dogs. And these aren't it. They are a version of them. So the breading is a basic dough, no flavor. Also. My breading was raw by my hot dog. Completely raw. Liquidy. This is why I'm shocked I don't have food poisoning. The chili sauce and Doritos were good though. And it seems to be a common problem when reading reviews. Oil to high and super dark on the outside and just raw inside. Which also was an issue in the potstickers. They would be delicious if they were cooked correctly, or had some kind of other texture other than a slimy inside. Probably the noodles make it extra moist. But the inside was slimy. The fries were the absolute best part of this meal. Dipped in the garlic Serrano sauce. I could eat it all day. My friends potato dog was over cooked on the outside and undercooked on the inside but not as raw as mine. They were cooked together, how does that even happen ?? The dining room looks unorganized and thrown together. There's a high bar for people to sit at but no bar chairs, and the tables are in. Front of it so the bar is right at your head level. They have a photo-op wall. There was a random stack of tables in chairs in the corner. The service was wonderful. The young lady at the front was very knowledgeable and friendly. Super nice. I think there was one other person in the store. Bathroom was meh. Soap dispenser issues. But I agree with a review that says like they are nickel and diming you. Penny pinching. If yall want to keep the dining room just an odd feeling then that's cool. But please do some training in the kitchen. Raw food, is never ok. We spent $35 and it definitely wasn't worth it. My lemonade was ok, but full of ice. The mango slushie was good. And I think I agree that this isn't my age bracket spot. It's fun for social media but not good at leaving you full. Especially when you can't even eat half your $10 dog.

My first memory of Jollibee's, a Filipino-based chain, was from Southcenter in Seattle, where I discovered their very good fried chicken. The Seattle location was wildly popular, and so is this Alexandria outlet. So practically speaking, due to the popularity, it may take some time for your order to be prepared. Be patient! The kiosks help with getting your order in, but when I used the kiosk, it errored out when I tried to order a fountain Pepsi. That's OK, I'd rather have Coke anyway, which they do not have at Jollibee's. Even though chicken is Jollibee's specialty, I wanted to try the Angus Cheeseburger. I also ordered an Ube pie. The burger was pretty good. The bun was great and so were the toppings. But unfortunately, the meat was salty as all get out. I don't know if that was a one-off experience or that's how they do their burgers. I have very fond recollections of Ube ice cream in the Filipino halo-halo dessert, so I had high hopes for Jollibee's Ube pie. It was nice that they heat their Ube pies. The crust is very good. But the Ube filling was disappointing. It had zilch Ube flavor and was kinda runny. Still, I'm glad there's a Jollibee's here in NoVA (there's also one in Chantilly).

Most of this operation appears to be take-out. We placed a pickup order online and it was waiting for us by the time we showed up. We ordered two small chicken bowls and one "feast mode". The "feast mode" size was actually challenging for three people to finish! The "hive sauce" tastes like a honey mustard with maybe mayo? It's pretty good. I really wish Flavor Hive would have additional toppings - just cucumber tomato onion cilantro etc are quite minimal. Would be awesome if they could add something like beet salad or beans! The value at this place is excellent compared to the numerous other rice / slop bowl places in the area. It is a lot of food. When I called the phone number listed on both the paid receipt and from Google, I did not reach the restaurant. Instead, the call was answered by a male individual phone comes up from Vienna and did not appear to be affiliated with the restaurant staff on-site. This alone is unacceptable. The individual who answered was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. Multiple witnesses overheard the conversation, which has been documented. We were not initially seeking a refund -- only verification of the missing order and whether it could still be picked up. There was zero effort to assist, no accountability, and no urgency to resolve the issue. This level of disorganization and lack of customer service is unacceptable for any restaurant. If Flavor Hive continues to operate this way -- including routing customer calls to unprofessional third parties -- it will absolutely damage the business and its reputation.

But nobody came out. I was hungry and didn't want to wait any longer, so I just left. Gave it 4 stars at first, then they shifted to this Nashville Hot Chicken style for wings for a one star, and recently revisited after checking out that their online menu brought back the traditional wing sauces. I surely missed out when that happened. Coming back, I declare that their wings are probably some of the better ones in the DMV. As the wifey said, crunchy on the outside, juicy inside. And their portions are big. We ordered 12, half plain and the other lemon pepper. The base wings is flavorful enough to savor. The problem lies in the menu. Looking at the screen as initial point of contact, you feel like you opened a box of jigsaw puzzle. The Club needs to organize and simplify their menu and classify according to wings, burgers, bowls and sides. That would solve the problem. Change the shocking blue background color and take out the pictures of the burgers which look very similar with one another to free up more space. Additionally, you feel like you're in a mini Cheesecake Factory with so many choices available. Simplify the menu! Also, let go of your separation anxiety with all this huge printed merchandising materials, some of which have been there from the start! Then there are standee signs that list other order options. They make the place look cheap and dated. Worse, they're confusing and an eyeful. One sign featured all the Korean chicken variants while another tucked away somewhere reveals you can get the lemon pepper and other interesting sauces and toppings. Put it this way, if the Restaurant Makeover show and Chef Gordon Ramsay came over, they would change 2 things: simplify the menu and add some pop to the interior. Get professional help on these please. Don't "wing" it and hoard on the huge menu boards like you were archiving old photographs. Have the owners noticed that more people are doing take-outs rather than dining in? A one day make over of fresh paint with vibrant new furniture (they have the same ones 7 years back) and simple menus with one or two picture boards would make this place rock and do justice to their awesome chicken wings (if only you knew that you can get more that 10 flavors to choose from)! Hopefully, The Club will merit my Yelp record of 4 reviews for a single restaurant culminating in one that showcases the true potential of this place.

The smashburgers are made with 100% halal beef and they come out HOT with perfectly crispy edges on the patties and a juicy center. We ordered 3 burgers and each of them stood out in their own way. You can get a single, double, or triple patty burger and add whatever toppings to it too. The jalapeño burger was the star of the show, it had a such a nice and spicy kick to it. There are a couple sheltered picnic tables to the side. To give Johnny Mac's a whirl, I ordered a simple bacon cheeseburger with default toppings. My conclusion? The Johnny Mac burger is better than one from any of the other fast food establishments along Richmond Hwy: McDonalds, Five Guys, Wendy's, Burger King or Roys. Yes, the price was a li'l steep: $9.35. But the patty was huge; it might have been even approaching 1/2 lb. Also, my order was prepared quickly and the counter service polite. Johnny Mac's uses good sturdy buns. The default burger comes with neatly sliced lettuce, tomato, bacon and a tad of mayo. The toppings were neatly placed on the burger. The meat itself was juicy though probably could have stood more seasoning. But to remedy that, there is a tray on the counter inside the restaurant with about 8 different sauces, including mambo, which you can add to your burger. In addition to traditional hamburger and barbecue options, there are some Latino options. I want to come back and try the Elote (corn in a cup).
