I'm still gonna explore other places because, while their broccoli in garlic sauce was nicely crunchy, the actual sauce itself wasn't my fave. However their shrimp egg rolls were great - crunchy, not overly oily & tasty, crisp veggie filling with plump shrimp. Their shrimp fried rice was the star of the show. Many places are too lazy to bother cleaning their shrimp. Not Kongs! The shrimp were all deveined, big & juicy. The rice itself was nicely sautéed & flavorful. Huge portion size. Let's first start with the name Kong's Vegetarian=Kong's Kitchen are the same restaurant so don't get fooled by the name. I don't have anything good to say about this place from my two experience. My first experience, I order Kung Pao Chicken and they found someway to make it taste Just AWFUL. My second experience, I didn't know I was ordering from the same awful place becuase of the slight name change so I order a Vegetarian Kung Pao chicken just AWFUL again. I don't know how they are cooking or the ingredients that go into their food but their claim to no MSG is questionable and the only item that they didn't mess up in both my orders was steamed rice. Also, both times I ordered was through food apps which had no different on the quality of them food. Ordered the sezchuan chicken - it tasted like water. No flavor at all. I ordered the corn soup thinking I was getting velvet corn soup. Nope! Kong's is a hidden gem, and might just be my new favorite spot for old-fashioned, NYC-style Chinese takeout in Atlanta. We recently decided to order delivery from this spot on a lazy Saturday afternoon. This place had been on my radar for a while after finding their very vegetarian-friendly menu online, but I had been somewhat wary based on their humble location and mixed reviews. After deciding to test the waters, I settled on their General Tso's tofu, and she went for the classic sesame tofu. We also ordered a side of sesame balls to complete the meal. Delivery was easy and contactless, and straight to our door. The sesame balls, which were new to me, were delicious, lightly toasted and chewy with a bean paste filling. The entrees were even better. If you are looking for something really fresh and vegetable forward, which I often am, look elsewhere. However, if you want the classic, old-fashioned American Chinese takeout experience, Kong's is your place. Both entrees included heaps of crispy battered tofu, which did well in soaking up the delicious sauces. The sesame was perfect and just what you want, and the General Tso's was spicy and interesting, with a hint of cinnamon. Both were pretty minimal on the vegetables, which was completely fine, because the tofu was just that good. This was all topped off with perfectly steamed and fragrant white jasmine rice. The delivery is so quick but placing an order can be quite difficult. I've gotten attitude so many times and they tend to not really know their computer system when it comes to ringing things up. The philly rolls are great and my favorite dish is the Mongolian beef but this onion to beef ratio has to get a little better. This just keeps happening and it's not cool. I literally have to pull most of the onions out in order to eat. Mongolian beef, not onion! And the pictures only look nice because I added rice.
