The food was packaged really well, in which I loved especially since we're in a pandemic. I ordered the chicken with broccoli meal and it came with my choice of soup (hot & sour), drink, and an egg roll. I've been here 3 times and I've gotten the same thing each time because after the first visit I've been having cravings because it's so good lol. It's a small restaurant with no tables so you have to take it to go. They also deliver. I would recommend the philly egg roll, it was the egg roll I never realized I needed until I tried it. I should have paid more attention to 3star rating. my delivery was timely, but....egg rolls tasted of old oil and May have been reheated. the fried dumplings had an off taste and the cashew chicken was seasoned very poorly and left a bad after taste... My first time eating here, 8/16/20. I have passed by. Done uber eats orders but never ate here. I did not do the dinner option because it would have been a smaller portion and I was extremely hungry ! So I ordered everything separately ... general tso chicken with fried rice, small wonton soup and an order of spring rolls. I must say this was a lot of food for the amount I paid ! General tso chicken is my go to and I am VERY pleased. I would have liked it to be a little spicer though. The fried rice was perfectly fresh and hot. Spring rolls were amazing as well. My wife and I tried Kong's Kitchen on Piedmont recently because we live close. Sesame chicken was our choice. Sauce was tasty. But as we were eating it we started to question if it was actually chicken. (!!) It had a different (tougher/chewy) texture and was not good. I see other reviews here that state the same - which is even more concerning. And once the charge came through on our credit card we noticed that the cashier added a tip without our consent!! So two big strikes for us and Kong's is definitely out. There are many better options for us in the area. read more

Bland food. Barely warm even for carry out standards. Chicken corn soup was a plain broth with some corn floating about and barely noticeable white pieces of flavorless chicken. Orange peel chicken had orange that was incredibly bitter and far from ripe. Paid extra for shrimp fried rice. Also flavorless. I've picked up food twice from Kong's. I love their eggplant with tofu, or just garlic eggplant without tofu AND the vegetarian chicken kung pao. The Kung Pao is crunchy because the veggies are fresh. The eggplant is really nice. The fried rice side is very tasty. Please note that there is no place to park in front when picking up. I park around the block. Some people stop in the middle of the road in front of the restaurant (Piedmont Avenue) but this isn't safe. If their car gets hit - it would be their fault. read more

Okay so I live in midtown. I've had ALL of the Chinese take out spots, and I mean all. Kongs kitchen is the shiz-na-eez. First things first PRESENTATION. The food doesn't smell all weird and there's not sauce leaking everywhere. The food is always fresh, great quality, and full of that American Chinese flavor we all want. The cashier is always nice, and pickup is fast. I recommend parking at smoothie King and walking over. So far my boyfriend and I have had general tsos, scezuan chicken, shrimp lo mein, hot honey mustard wings, shrimp fried rice and right now I'm waiting for my lemon pepper wings. The Ma Po Tofu was really good - yummy sauce and the way the tofu was cooked. My kids got Kung Pao chicken and it looked good but they said it didn't have any kick to it. Egg drop soup was good once I added soy sauce. The veggie fried rice was pretty good. The spring rolls were hot & crispy but had a strong cabbage flavor.
