Well known local breakfast/lunch branch of Konos by the PB Pier has changed name and ownership. But the owner Pablo has run the cafe for years and the menu and quality has not changed. Large breakfasts are the most well known but don't miss the tuna fish sandwich. Call ahead, din't need to go through online hassles and app.

My cousin brought me here for my birthday and I had the veggie scramble and I had the gastric bypass sleeve so this was a lot of food for me. But it was still awesome, tasty and delicious. I love how you have the option of eating inside or outside. Love the chill vibe it gives off. There is no restroom so you have to use the Vons next door. Aisle 16 and the code is 2116. Service was great. Just don't expect anyone to check on you, if you need something just go and ask.

This place is always on point with the freshness of their food. The service is always great no matter how busy and it's busy all the time. This place definitely has the best price for breakfast especially for the amount of food they serve you. It's pretty small inside but they have do have outdoor sitting. Took a day trip to San Diego and got there pretty early and we were hungry for breakfast and my daughter found this place and so glad she did!! When we arrived there was a line to order food. So to me that was already a good sign. This place was cozy and quant with tables inside and outside. The waitstaff would bring out the food orders to the tables. My husband and I shared the big breakfast #2 French toast, eggs, bacon, konitos potatoes ( cheddar cheese, bell peppers and onions) and an English muffin. My kids ordered egg burrito #1 and egg burrito #5. The French toast was so delicious! The bread looked and tasted home made. So fluffy. Bacon was crispy and perfect. Egg was scrambled and had perfect amount out cheddar cheese. The potatoes were cooked Wonderfully! Loved the bell peppers and onion! I definitely will be back!

There's nothing "little" about the Little Breakfast

Probably the best value for breakfast in the entire city, and I've been to a lot of breakfast places. The food here is consistently awesome and portions are massive. I honestly don't know how they keep their prices down as expensive as things are these days and especially with this business being located in Pacific Beach. The last time I visited, I got the little breakfast. I posted a photo of my plate here on yelp, huge portions of eggs, potatoes, toast, and avocado for $11. The avocado might've been an add-on for $1.50 or so if I remember correctly. I learned my lesson ordering one of the full sized entrées, the last time I was there I got pancakes and it was enough food for a small village. Everybody that works there is really nice, and you can tell they are all working hard to give you a great experience. You place your order at a little counter and then choose a table either inside or outside. Your food is delivered to you and there's a little cooler with salsa if that's what you're in the mood for. My only beef, but not enough to take away a star, is that I think the coffee is not very good. But there's a Starbucks in the Vons right there and a Dunkin' Donuts just across the street in the same parking lot so it's easy enough to get what you need and not be inconvenienced.

Getting away from all the hectic touristy vibes and crazy long waits near Mission Beach, we found this hidden spot in a little corner serving brunch. Just a normal walk up and order type vibe place. Really small, but a good amount of seating outside. The service was fast and efficient. We had to order the breakfast burrito because that's what everyone was recommending. Would say that it is totally worth it. Big and flavorful. The salsa was on point. They don't have restrooms for customers which sucks when you have to use the restroom after you drink their coffee. Definitely recommend this spot for the breakfast burritos. Will come back to try other menu items.

One of the best breakfast burritos I've had in my whole life - it's actually put me on a major breakfast burrito kick. Konito's appears as a bit of a hole-in-the-wall, which is who I trust most with my breakfast burritos. Coupled with their verde salsa, this is exactly what I needed to eat on the beach on a Sunday morning! Service was excellent and very quick, even on a busy Sunday. I can't wait for my next visit.

YUMMY! I had the classic Egg Burrito #5 and boy it did not disappoint! The egg (chefs kiss), the avocado, fresh, the jalapeños, spicy, everything came together and it tasted amazing! The service was exceptional! Super nice and fast! And the vibes were like nothing else! If I could I would live here ! I WILL be coming back! The picture is of my basket when I was done. Service: amazing!! The man who took our order was so friendly. All the staff were nice to us. We were greeted with smiles and made sure we were taken care of. Our food came out so quick. I don't think we waited more than 5 minutes. Food: 10 out of 10!! The breakfast chorizo sandwich was delightful. I'd order it again. The eggs were thick and fluffy. Topped with melty cheese? I was in heaven! Ambiance: a vibe! We love the surf decor, indoor and outdoor seating. I'm already looking forward to coming back here to try their French toast.

First time here and really enjoyed it! Came Saturday morning and there was still indoor and outdoor seating. It's a cute little place and you can either eat there or take it to go. You order at the counter. The cashier was super friendly and the food came out so fast! The plates are huge for such a great price! We came on a Wednesday morning so there was open tables inside and out. Pros - for something like $13 the breakfast burrito was huge. Solid 8/10. The French toast plate was also massive. If you're reading this and you're not a San Diego local then you're in luck because this is a locals spot and the line is long for a reason. Don't let the line deter you though, it moves fast and once your order is in it comes out pretty fast. It's run by a lovely family and they excel in customer service. Everyone is so kind and very efficient! They have plenty of seating inside and outside. People shuffle in and out but if you can't find a place to sit, drive less than 5 minutes to the beach and eat it there while you soak up the sun. Very reasonable prices and you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. They have something for everyone! My husband and I's go to order is the Big breakfast #2. Tip: Try the green salsa that they make fresh everyday. You'll find it in the mini fridge by the counter. It is SO GOOD, especially with the eggs and potatoes. read more

I hate to admit that I am that person but I called 10 minutes before opening hoping to pick up 20 breakfast sandwiches in about 45 minutes. I didn't know if it was feasible. I wouldn't say it was. However, both staff members that I spoke to were incredibly kind and ready to take on the task. When I arrived, all of the food was neatly packaged in a box for easy transport. They were already ready with napkins, salsa, hot sauce, everything that I could've asked for. They are on their A game over here! And they delivered not only exceptional service but also exceptional food. My staff member is absolutely loved it. read more

No frills no thrills breakfast establishment - I'm always here for it! This location is right before you hit the beach in a shopping center so the parking situation is actually wonderful and so much easier to deal with. Small place with a few seats outdoors and inside. Order at the counter and they'll bring the food to your table. Salsa and condiments are inside the little mini fridge to your left after you order. I do love how simply the menu is and so easy to make a decision. The portions are more than generous for the price. Great little stop to fuel up before heading out for a day of adventure. I got the number breakfast sandwich and it hit the spot perfectly! Sometimes a little bit of mayo goes a long way. So much fluffy eggs with the sandwich and the best part - the bacon wasn't completely crumbling and was cooked perfectly to my liking. They do take credit card which is great. There is something for everybody - breakfast sandwich, breakfast tacos or burritos, french toast and then their lunch menu which you can also order from. Staff are super friendly and love how cozy it was! read more

I've had Konitos breakfast before it's good so this time I tried their Chicken quesadilla. It's good as well. It's pretty basic. Diced almost shredded chicken and cheese with two salsas. The GREEN IS HOTTER THAN THE RED. I was not prepared for the spice so be advised if you're not a fan of spicy. The service is quick and employees have always been nice. They have both indoor and outdoor seating which is a nice option. read more

Delicious breakfast burrito on a sunny weekend! Came here instead of Kono's cafe because the line was going to be super long and so we ordered online. It seems like the menu is the same at both places! I was so excited to eat I forgot to take a pic of the cross section. typical breakfast burrito w eggs potatoes cheese, and i got the bacon burrito! i was sad it didn't automatically come with avocado like the sausage burrito and assumed avocado just came with all burrito but i was wrong ... salsas on the side added a nice kick and flavor to the burrito. This place is chronic. The breakfast burrito #4, no pico and breakfast quesadilla are the star of the show . Always add potatoes. Been coming here for years, always ready for pick up in 5 min, always consistent and delicious. Better than any burrito you'll see on a "Top 5 in SD" list. Family operated. The burritos here are simple, filling and affordable. Nothing crazy special - you could make this at home, but this place is great for the convenience. The burritos and breakfast sandwiches are LOADED with eggs - they're super generous with all the ingredients. They also had blueberry pancakes as a special at this location and it smelled so good. Food is delicious and great portion size. The service was very welcoming. All the employees are kind and make you feel like home. I got the big breakfast #2 and had leftovers to take home. My only downside is that there is no restroom so if you need to go or just need to wash your hands you have to go to Vons next door. Other than that it's a nice small cozy place to enjoy a great breakfast. read more

Affordable and delicious food. Very casual place. They have outside seating which is appreciated! I recommend their French toast over their pancakes which are ok. French toast is so crispy and flavorful. Coffee is better than you'd expect but I always get the tea. read more

Place is fantastic! Burrito #1 hit the spot after a long night out. Hard to find value these days but Konito's has huge portions that are fairly priced. Green salsa was great too. Only issue we had was some guy was very fired up and loud and cussing about a fantasy football trade boondoggle twelve years ago. But that had nothing to do with the eatery. Great spot and would recommend to anyone. read more

Food was amazing and well priced, I will be back! I didn't even think to take a picture until i was already eating! We both got the big breakfast #1 from the "konitos classics" (as well as a side of avocado) and it was amazing!!! the pancakes were so fluffy and amazing that after my husband finished eating, he couldn't resist stealing some of my pancakes lol read more

This is definitely my go-to breakfast spot when visiting San Diego. Not only is the food delicious and the service friendly, but the prices are super reasonable for the area. So I am all in every time. Get there early because this tiny spot fills up with people waiting in line to order and sit. I do notice that people come and go quickly enough to pretty much keep things moving. Highly recommend this spot for your next tasty and affordable meal. read more

History

Established in 2016.

Konito's Cafe is the second location of Kono's Cafe which opened in 1991 in Pacific Beach. After 25 years of serving the local San Diego community as well as the many visitors who come to the PB boardwalk every year, Kono's decided to branch out with a satellite location up the street in the Pacific Plaza shopping center. We kept the menu, hours, and even a few of the chefs the same as Kono's. The only difference you will find is a lot more parking!

Meet the Business Owner: Pablo S.

After working at Kono's Cafe for 22 years, Pablo came to Kono's Owner, Steve Bettles, with the idea for a second location. After a long search Pablo and Steve came across the Pacific Plaza location and partnered on the deal. Pablo's skills as a chef and business owner have made Konito's a success.

It was a good thing we caught that error on the receipt before paying. Overall, the food at Hash House is definitely worth coming back for.

A few minutes after delivering my food, he brought a to-go box, because he knew I always take most of my meal with me, and I'm always in a hurry. That's not great service - that's extraordinary service! At one to two times a month, Erick makes me feel like a 5 day a week regular. I recently placed a phone order to pick up breakfast for ten people on a busy Saturday, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. They answered the phone before opening, offered thoughtful suggestions to ensure the burritos stayed fresh for my timing, and had everything ready exactly when promised. The food was packed carefully, with plenty of salsa and utensils included. This is the kind of place that genuinely deserves support. Come hungry--the servings are healthy and you will leave stuffed. For ~$12 you can have a coffee and a filling home-style cooked breakfast.
