    What Came First?

I don't know why this place doesn't have a solid 5 stars. The fried chicken egg sandwich was insaneeee. Will def be coming back.

One word, WOW! I've walked by Eggies for years on my way to the beach. It's right in front of a breakfast place. This time I was with my daughter and on the way back she suggested we give it a try. How good can a breakfast sandwich be anyway! The answer, that good. It's a meal in a sandy! from the perfectly cooked bun to a nice gel like yoke to the perfect maple sausage patty. (Oh and I love their picante hot sauce.) We ate at the counter but next time, I'm grabbing and walking to Glazed for a dark coffee and perfect view.

How could you not love this place?!? A quick brekkie in a jar. Easy to eat on the run and so delish! I've yet to try anything else but I'm Sure it's just as good. Service is always spot on.

The Eggies Classic was 5 stars! Perfect combination with an over medium egg, bacon and sausage. The sauce paired well and had a hint of spice. Service was good and some seating outside. Service was on point and definitely returning again when I'm craving a breakfast sandwich.

Got the Eggies Classic and it was delicious! Consisted of a brioche bun, medium egg, chipotle sauce, sausage and bacon. Order at the register and wait for your order to be called. Great option for a quick and easy breakfast!

I usually don't like breakfast sandwiches, but oh my GOSH did this one change my mind. I got the california sandwich. It had the most delicious sauce, was a great portion, affordable, and didn't feel greasy (like most breakfast sandwiches do in my opinion). The staff was lovely and really speedy with our order. I will 10000% be going back.

Happened upon Eggies randomly while wandering around Pacific Beach because if you blink you might just miss it if you don't know it's there. I decided to go all in and try their main four: the Eggies Classic, What Came First, the BLT, and the California. I wasn't sure what to expect, but by the end I was absolutely mind-blown. These were some seriously fantastic sandwiches. For me, the standout was the Eggies Classic, the combination an over medium egg, eggcellent sauce, maple-sage breakfast sausage, applewood smoked bacon, and sharp cheddar cheese on a Brioche Bun was a full-on party in my mouth. My least favorite, though still tasty, was the California; the warm arugula, which I normally love, felt a bit out of sync with the eggs and other ingredients. And on What Came First, I just wished the chicken had a bit more crisp. Overall, an awesome visit the service was fast and friends and I'd highly recommend to anyone who loves a killer breakfast sandwich.

The good: I got the bacon sandwich, the classic sandwich, freshly squeezed Orange juice, salted caramel cold brew, churros and vanilla cold foam brew. I loved how the coffees had a single square giant ice cube made of coffee! Churros were my favorite food item from here. My food was all ready in a jiffy. Their packaging is premium. I liked the fun egg stickers, the cartoon egg bag and the mason jar that the hash came in. The bad: The hash was just wet and very strong in rosemary flavor. I preferred the mashed potato egg jars at other egg breakfast spots. The caramel churro dip didn't add much to the dish. The sandwiches were ok but were a bit too much for me. I thought the lettuce and breakfast sausage didn't go well together though I generally like veggies in every sandwich. The interesting: Their store is in a shipping container.

First time trying eggies. This is located next to republic breakfast. It's a little pop up. Parking is tough especially on weekends. There are only a couple tables. Close walk to the beach. My cousin recommended the California sandwich. It comes with avocado and arugula. The aioli was really good. They offer homemade ketchup and hot sauce but it's so good you won't need it. P.s. it can get messy eating the sandwich.

Made a quick pit stop for some breakfast. This was my first time trying eggies in San Diego and it was absolutely fantastic. The flavor was full and savory. It was the perfect "hangover" sandwich in my opinion. It was layered with a fried egg, avocado, bacon, a turkey sausage patty, arugula with an aioli dressing. This held me over for the whole day! Just to let you know, it is a stationary food truck vibe, with a few spots to sit.

    Punctured finger from unsafe barstool
    Matt F.

Just simply awful. The counter person is rude and dismissive, the egg sandwiches were put together sloppily and was impossible to even pick up - a total mess. Finally, their metal bar stools had a sharp metal point on the underside of the seat which punctured my finger as I tried to pull it in. Forgot to add both sandwiches we ordered were not the ones we received. There's only four or five to choose from, so getting both orders wrong is kinda inexcusable. We ended up throwing both out. Total waste of time and money. DO NOT GO HERE.

The sandwich: This thing costs a pretty penny, so be prepared to shell out. They do slam an ungodly amount of roast beef in there. My experience was that the whole thing was a soggy mess. Was it particularly mind boggling roast beef? Not really. Mostly tasted like mayo and barbecue sauce, which it's smothered in. The fries: they do curly fries here, cooked in beef tallow and seasoned with barbecue seasoning. These are really good! They were lava hot when I got them, and the seasoning is great! Really good by themselves and better with ketchup. Service was counter side, quick and casual. Pretty sure the owner was the one who took my order. They have no indoor seating, and a shared outdoor space with the restaurants next door. There are only a few tables, and even fewer with shade, so if it's crowded be prepared to take it elsewhere. Overall, since the place brands itself as a roast beef place, I'd give it average rating since the sandwich was disappointing. Maybe one of the other sandwiches would be a better choice.

The flavors were perfect, and the temperature was spot on. Also, can we take a moment for their ceramic cups? So cute! For food, I tried their Cali vegan sandwich. It was okay, but I was hoping for a little more flavor. It felt a bit dry, and the fries weren't very hot by the time they arrived. Given how busy the place was, I'm guessing that may have played a role. Overall, it's a solid place to hang out, grab a coffee, or get some work done if you can find a table. Amazing! I was starving so this was great news. When I walked in she had it ready for me and then all I had to do was pay at the register. Now for the taste, wow. At first I thought this was going to be a cold wrap with like cubed chicken. I was pleasantly surprised when I felt a warm bag. I love that they have tons of seating, a full menu, and parking available. ATMOSPHERE: 5/5 There's lots of seating both indoors and outdoors, and despite packing in a good amount of tables, the space never feels cramped. It's a great option for a coffee date, working while snacking, or just hanging out for a while. The layout makes it easy to settle in without feeling rushed. SERVICE: 4/5 Service is reasonably friendly and polite. My only complaint is that a couple of times I've gone they've seemed short-staffed - not at all the fault of the employees, just something to be aware of if you walk in and don't immediately see or get greeted by anyone. COFFEE: 3.5/5 They have a lot of coffee options on the menu, which is a big plus. So far I've tried the Macadamia Nut Latte (iced, oat milk): 3.5/5 and the Vanilla Latte (iced, oat milk): 4/5. The macadamia nut latte wasn't terribly flavorful, so I probably wouldn't order it again, but if you prefer a latte that isn't sweet, this could actually be perfect for you. The vanilla latte was pretty standard; nothing to write home about, but no real complaints either. I'd happily order it again, especially if I was also grabbing food or planning to sit and work for a bit. FOOD: 4/5 They have a very extensive food menu, which is a big plus. Lots of options across bagels, pastries, toasts, and sandwiches - both savory and sweet. I ordered the Turkey Sandwich, which was tasty and fresh, but I was a bit underwhelmed by the amount of meat. If you're expecting a classic, stacked deli sandwich, you might be disappointed. That said, the flavor and overall quality were still very good. I also love that this spot opens fairly early. If I'm meeting someone for coffee and conversation in this part of Bird Rock, this is usually my first choice.
