Their menu has a mix of cutlet sandwiches, cheesesteaks, burger, tacos, quesadillas and burritos. The man who took my order wasn't much for words, but the food more than made up for it! My wife had the Chicken Quesadilla $15 (comes with fries). I had the combination tacos $16 which had one hot sausage taco, one chipotle and one birria. All three tacos were stuffed and bursting with flavor. The double tortillas were awesome and made the overstuffed tacos easier to handle, but were also fresh and had a nice crunch to them. I enjoyed the birria most with the chipotle coming in a close second. The hot sausage taco was decent, but I needed more heat and flavor from it. The birria had a tasty combination of cheese, cilantro and onion to go along with the seasoned beef. The chipotle chicken partnered with pineapple, cilantro and onion hit the spot as well. The Chicken Quesadilla had a perfect portion of melted cheese and lightly seasoned chicken. It also held together extremely well. The fries were forgettable, but the main event was delicious. We pulled in, parked and walked over to the order window. Zaran was running the show. Patient as we asked a few questions and ordered a couple of Fried Chicken Sandwiches, a BBQ Chicken on large potato roll, and Fries. She suggested we wait inside due to the cold wind blowing through our jackets. Good idea, as there was a guitarist strumming tunes in the corner, and a full house of happy folk enjoying the brew and entertainment. Zaran was bagging our grub when we went back to the truck 10 minutes later. The red rooster logo blazed on all three bags; it hadn't changed in the past decade or more. The sandwiches were very good; hot, crisp, fresh and thick with pickle chips and spicy mayo spread over top. The fries were also excellent, crunchy with just enough salt to keep the tongue intrigued. As their facility is 5 minutes from home, the opportunity to sample a variety of quality cuisine is appreciated. We stopped by to check out what TCC had to offer. The menu looked both Thai and Japanese, with larger plates and smaller snacks. We chose Steak Hibachi with Noodles and Curry Puff Chicken as an appetizer. Both were very good. The puffs were with a mild yellow curry and ample chicken wrapped in a deep fried dough, and came with a sweet/hot dipping sauce. There were four to an order, and enough to fill me for several hours. The hibachi was small pieces of decent steak, veggies, medium Thai spicy over very tasty noodles. Rice was an available option. We found both dishes very much to our liking. Service from the friendly, accommodating truck owners was all we wanted, and they were responsive to our questions and clearly aiming to please. I may have been his first customer of the day as when he opened the doors to the smoker, I saw that everything was already cooked to perfection, and all he had to do was take my order and transfer the half rack of ribs and mac&cheese into containers and hand them over to me. Each tray was overloaded with ribs, brisket, wings, and several sides, with nothing yet removed. On the short drive home, my car was full of the savory aroma of the Mr. Spice Honey Chipotle sauce poured over the dry rub meat just before purchase. It got even better when I broke everything open, plated a couple of ribs and large spoonful of M&C, and dug in. The meat was pull off the bone tender, with wonderful flavor. Had to suck off every last morsel. The chack and meez was a little dry, but held its taste and texture. If Smoke Break finds its way back to Newtown Brewery, I would definitely sample the brisket and wings in addition to another rack of their ribs.
