There's Kooks in Kaka'ako... As I drove up to the Grey Manapua Truck I noticed a familiar cute trailer and it was surprised to see Kooks Coffee parked right beside Sabrozon on the corner of Cooke and Halekuwila Street. Very new as it's been less than a week it's definitely a welcome sight as they open early from 7am though do close early at 2pm but with lots of parking options from street meter to the lot at the building right beside them which also you not be able to see but behind the trucks are nice seating area as well for you to sit and relax with your drinks is quite nice and cozy. What you'll find here are coffee with a twist such as Nanner Bread, Dawn Patrol and yes Kooky Monster which all sounds amazing but it was the Iced Ubae Watch for me today which is their Ube Latte and for an additional +$0.75 subbed it for Almond Milk...you order your drink at the front window and pick up on the side. The staff there is so nice and friendly and if coffee isn't your thing they also have chai and "Rockers" which is a refreshing energy drink using Lotus which is a plant-based flavored drink which is something that I'd like to try on my next visit so check them out as these Kooks makes some serious drinks. Thank you!

The Duke: Sea Salted Caramel with a Toasted Coconut White Cap

This is a new coffee cart in Kakaako near the Sabrazon Mexican truck across Mother Waldron park. They also have a UH campus location. I tried the Duke which is a sea salt caramel coffee with coconut cold foam. Very good! My sister had the banana bread latte, which I tried, and it's also very delicious. The milk on that one cannot be substituted though since they make the banana milk in house, for the rest of the drinks the milk can be substituted. Service was quick and friendly and a nice variety of options, will definitely be back.

Love Kooks Coffee, I first tried them at a farmers market! They just opened a new shop in Kakaako, right next to their old neighbors, Sabrozon Mexican Food! - I love their Banana Bread Latte $7 (nanner bread) - Parking isn't too crazy, there's a park right in front and you can easily park anywhere around. - This location is open from Mon-Sat @ 7am-2pm

I rarely leave reviews but this place is too good to not dote about. Love getting my iced latte from here. Ingredients are locally sourced, the quality of the coffee is second to none, the names of the drinks are a fun touch too (I order the dawn patrol - basically an iced vanilla latte) and the prices are competitive. BUT what truly stands out the most to me is the SERVICE. When ordering, you are instantly greeted with a warm smile. The owners also work their coffee truck and it's actually them who I love ordering from because their pleasant demeanor and kind smile goes a longggggg way these days. Kooks coffee is my latest addiction and I'm more than happy to support this locally owned business! Try it if you haven't, you won't be disappointed!

See if kooks had its own store I would sit down, study and drink their hibiscus rockers or any of their coffees 5x a week. They're also really sweet too! I'm so happy it's walking distance from me.

Kooks Coffee truck is amazing! There is free parking, and a cute covered area where you can enjoy your coffee. We had the 'Nanner Bread, Dawn Patrol, Blueberry Chai, and the Blube. They were all so delicious! We definitely recommend and will be back soon!

I believe that they worker said, "I appreciate you!" Wow! That's very nice of him! Unfortunately, they were out of collard greens, so ended up ordering a fried catfish plate with Mac & cheese and green beans. Man, I don't know if it was because I was hungry, but this was one of the best classic Mac and cheeses I had in a long time, and by far the best green beans I had. The catfish was freshly fried after ordering and was perfectly cooked and seasoned. At $26 per plate it is a little pricey, but it was about a meal and a half and the taste was excellent. I would suggest calling ahead to see what they're out of and to ensure you don't have to wait.

It's in an area with a few other food stalls and I didn't know what to expect but I'm so glad I tried it. I ordered the angry shrimp plate and the 6pc coconut shrimp a la carte ($13.95). The coconut shrimp is outta this world. Coated with breading with flakes of coconut, the crispy, crunchy exterior is so satisfying to bite into and unveils the juicy shrimp underneath. I loved the sauces it came with too -- it paired so well with the shrimp. The angry shrimp plate comes with two scoops of furikake rice and a small side salad. Whatever is in the salad dressing is seriously addictive and the angry shrimp is wonderful when paired with the rice. The sauce made me want two more scoops of white rice. I preferred my beloved coconut shrimp more but all in all these were excellent dishes. I might need to get this again and that's high praise considering the abundance of good food in Oahu.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! Disrespectful service & completely unacceptable behavior!!…read more My boyfriend and I placed two separate orders for a total of 4 platters and 2 drinks. During my boyfriend's transaction, he didn't realize it was cashless, and the employee, Mitchel T, repeatedly pressured him to put his cash in the tip jar - mentioning things like a ski trip and family to convince him to hand the cash over as tip. It quickly became uncomfortable. When picking up our first order (2 platters, 2 drinks), the same employee asked if I could carry everything. I said I'd try, but instead of giving me the drinks, he handed me only the 2 platters and angrily sighed before setting the drinks back down. As I went back for the drinks, he instead handed me the remaining two platters. I turn to set those down and while doing so I guess he thought now I would be able to handle carrying 2 platters and 2 drinks. Because I didn't grab the drinks this second go around, the worker called me a "F***ING IDIOT." When I said, "that's rude," he doubled down - telling another customer I was an idiot because he was "busy" (there was only one person in line). My boyfriend calmly tried to address it, but the employee refused, completely ignored him, and continued glaring at us as we left. Other customers also expressed how rudely treated they were at this location. We spent nearly $100 to be treated with hostility. Completely unacceptable.

We ordered the Hamburger Mac Shack Bowl, the hamburger patty was small, sad, dry, and lacked in flavor. It tasted like the school lunch hamburger patties at best. The mac was BAD, like it was so grainy and I thought maybe they messed up the roux (if they used any), but my partner (chef) said that its due to it being overcooked. Which makes a lot of sense because the macaroni itself was also a bit overcooked. There were no like "cheesy-ness" to the mac at all, other than the sad, grainy texture sauce, which also had a strong "flour-y" taste. I do NOT recommend. If you want mac and cheese balls (seems to what they're popular for as well" go to cheesecake factory or literally anywhere else.

When I finished putting in my order, the worker had asked me if it would have been just one or two hotdogs. I answered him by saying yes just one. Which he then responded by saying, "what, would he rather have a pho?" Clearly seeing my boyfriend was Asian, that was his question for us just getting one hotdog. He said it as if it was funny. I left it alone and waited for the order. I just don't get the point of him having to say that. He didn't even pronounce "pho" right either, he pronounced it as "foe." As for the hotdog itself, it is good. It is on the pricier side of $11 for one but for the price you get with the bun, polish sausage and toppings, it made it for it. Lower stars because of the overall impression.

Was there a wait for her to make the alfredo from scratch for his dinner? Yes. Was it worth the wait? ABSOLUTELY! He said it was hands down, the best meal he had eaten on Oahu. And he had leftovers. That in itself speaks volumes. It's lots of food, and well worth $40! This is easily a shareable plate, but you won't want to.
