I finally returned to try the beef kooksoo and it was just as yummy as I was expecting! We split a large bowl which was plenty for two people. The noodles are so bouncy and are some of my favorite noodles I've tried in DFW, and the broth is so rich and comforting. The kimchi is also really good, I wish I could buy it in bulk to take home. Kooksoo is definitely one of the best soup spots around, and I'm gonna make it my goal to eat here more regularly.

After a short hibernation due to the ice storm, this place hit spot! The place is relatively small but clean and cozy. Order food using kiosk, self serve water and ice available. Food portion is HUGE! Bring your appetite. Everything was delicious and plenty for leftovers for lunch next day. Ordered Seafood Jjampong but sadly no lobster but owner replaced with a giant portion of meat and even give back a small refund back for the replacement. Please come and support!

Overprice, beef stir fried noodle was good, but King Rib Seafood soup noodle was just okey, combo balbi was too fat not really good. Kinda disappointed.

Wow, comfort Korean noodles that will keep you thinking about this for days! Heads up, nice clean modern restaurant, but you order at the kiosk, get your food at the counter when your number is called. Get your own water and utensils. I don't remember if we had to bus our own table. What we ordered: Signature beef bone soup: beef bone was big and tender. We requested for not so spicy soup. Noodles were so soft and chewy. Family loved this flavor. Kooksoo noodle soup: soooo yum! Soup was flavorful with just a tiny kick. Excellent balance of flavors. And the middles were so chewy and soft. Beef rice: flavorful beef (maybe blackbean flavor) and garlic. Again, very balanced. So good with rice. We finished everything then remembered Mike Chen had the stir fry noodle. We weren't hungry anymore but wanted to try it...so we did. Swoon, so so good! Stir fry noodle: a saucy stir fry noodle. Similar to the kooksoo noodle, but not soupy. This was my favorite. I'd definitely come back next time I'm in the area.

I love jjampong. There is nothing quite as comforting as a big bowl of spicy seafood noodle soup but Kooksoo puts on a masterclass in all of it's dishes. One of the best restaurants I've been to in Dallas. I also love the interior design. It's cozy and the tables are a bit tight but the modern aesthetic is bright and inviting. Ordering is self serve at the kiosk but if you need anything (like checking in on yelp for free bulgogi), just ring the bell and someone will come chat. And speaking of that bulgogi, as amazingly charred, sweet and delicious as it is, it's a footnote compared to the king rib jjampong. Massive bowl of complex seafoody broth, filled with elastic, chewy, house made fresh noodles. Some zucchini and bean sprouts for vegetables, lots of mussels and shrimp, topped off with a rack of fall off the bone tender beef ribs. Go grab some scissors to cut it up and go to town. Spice level is not overwhelming, just the right amount to cut through the heft of all the food, but you can also adjust it up or down when you order. The kimchi is very good too. All in all, definitely coming back whenever I'm in town, whether it's chilly in the winter or 100 degrees in the summer.

The meat and noodles are TOP NOTCH AMAZING. The meat falls right off super juicy and tender. The noodles are also super chewy. We went when it was self order and seating, self-service. The food here is splendid, would definitely come again. Super quiet here ambiance wise. We were the only customers during weekday dinner time

We were originally called to this place for the lobster jjamppong but I made a last minute pivot to get the beef rib jjamppong instead. Now, I have an excuse to go back! I ordered the beef rib jjamppong combo with LA galbi and my friend got the beef belly stir fry with noodles and LA galbi combo. They were sweet enough to give us a kids meal on the house for my toddler. The jjamppong was super flavorful with plenty of mussels and shrimp. Loved the sprouts on top, I love my veggies in my jjamppong. Not traditional flavors but still delicious and the noodles did not disappoint. I tried some of the stir fried beef noodle dish and it wasn't like anything I've had before but it was quite tasty! Everything is self serve, you order at the kiosk, get your drinks and utensils and your number is called when your order is ready. Service was quick and the atmosphere was clean, simple and inviting. Will definitely be back to try the lobster!

I got this baby to go, and it was still amazing when I finally was able to eat it.

We ordered delivery for two of the king rib soups and it tasted like we ordered there in-person at the restaurant. The noodles were great and the broth was piping hot. I've had other seafood jjampong and this was definitely the best I've ever had. Other seafood soups always have a frozen seafood taste to it or is sometimes gritty tasting to me. Kooksoo's was clean and flavorful. And of course the star of the show, at least to me, were the ribs which were completely fall off the bone. While I find the price is really high for a bowl of noodles, it's definitely worth it every once a while.

Good food here. I enjoyed my noodle soup. Small place and clean. It is self serve and ordering.

Love love love this place!! Been awhile since I was here and went for dinner tonight. It's still the quaint interior, but more self service now where you order at the kiosk up front and then go get your food when they call your number. Very efficient and still great quality food. Food is just amazing. Not the cheapest but great quality and good quantity. + Beef Bulgogi: not the thin meat but nice chunks and great flavor. Definitely surprised us by how good it was! + King Ribs Jjamppong: perfect and has a kick. Meat is so tender and you have a nice amount of shrimp and mussels in it too. Fresh ingredients and my favorite thing here. + LA galbi: good Don't sleep on this, come here now!!

Yea this place hits the spot. The short rib jjambbong with hand cut noodles is amazing. Not traditional Jjambbong but amazing nonetheless. Service was great, establishment was clean and bright. Highly recommend!

Tucked away from the main Ktown area, this place is a hidden gem! The inside is small but cute. Not too many options on the menu to be overwhelming. The king ribs jjampong is beautiful. The giant rib sticking out falls off the bone. The soup is full of flavor and filled with noodles and mussels. The only thing that would make it better would be more variety of seafood. Stir fried beef with noodles is also super tasty. The cheese adds a nice umami flavor. We got a complimentary Bulgogi bc we spent over $35 which was surprisingly really good! The portions are huge and each dish can easily be split between two. I will definitely be back!

Was chilled to the bone after being out all day in the cold. This location is smaller than the original but same style. The staff is much more polite and friendly. And the food is delicious!! I got beef Kooksoo this time but I also highly recommend the king ribs jjamppong. If you want to share I recommend getting extra noodles (+$2)

Sides $4.99 several options No dessert menu, only a little stand on the table with taro pudding that costed $8.95. We ordered their braised pork chop, daikon meatball soup, and pig ears. Like I mentioned, food was good, but nothing special. You can only order the side and soup if you order one of the main entrees. This new store is nothing like their old store, just fyi.

Yesterday I ordered the spicy cold noodles, and today I went with the LA galbi combo, which includes the spicy cold noodles with short ribs. The short ribs are served on a sizzling plate and were absolutely delicious. When you walk in, you place your order at the front, receive a buzzer, and then pick up your food cafeteria-style from the kitchen counter area once it's ready. Everything is self-serve, which is why they don't accept tips. The utensils are tucked away in a pull-out drawer on the side of the table--super cute. They also offer complimentary hot soup for dine-in guests that you can pour yourself at the water station. The food here is a solid 10/10. I'm from California, where we're not exactly lacking in amazing, authentic Korean food--especially in LA and the Bay Area (Santa Clara in particular). But I have to say, it's rare that a place makes me want to come back immediately the next day. Maybe it's because I've had one too many Texas tri-tip lately, but this place was exactly what I needed.

Came here from a post on social media with high hopes. Ordered our food at the kiosk and took a seat. Later an employee came over to inform me they were sold out of something I ordered and let me choose something else. This is fine and not a part of my negative review - it happens - I chose the beef noodle soup, extra spicy, with marinated egg. The cucumber salad we ordered was lacking any and all seasoning. Sadly I make a version of this salad at home, Chinese style, and it is way more flavorful. They didn't let the cucumbers soak in salt beforehand, so they were completely flavorless. Even after adding soy sauce it still didn't save it. Normally the wife and I finish the cucumber salad at other places we order it from, but we didn't even finish this one. When our soup arrived it was extremely oily. Basically mostly oil it seemed, you can see it coating and clinging to the entire spoon. Complely unappealing. I'm not sure if this is something particular to this style/region of a Chinese food or what, but I couldn't eat it. Even worse than the oil issue however, was that the meat in the soup was completely inedible! Literally each piece was either 95% ligament or fat and was just chewy and wouldn't even break down. I kid you not there was maybe a nibble of tender edible meat in the entire bowl of soup. And I don't say this lightly, I'm not a picky eater and generally try to find the positive in food. To top it off, I didn't even get the right kind of egg I ordered in my soup. I wonder if they gave me someone else's order. Either way, it was terrible. Ended up leaving almost the entire soup, even though I was starving. As for positives, the egg noodles in the soup were okay. That's all I can give it. Also, the soup dumplings were delicious. However, given the disappointment in the rest of the food here, we will not be coming back just for soup dumplings. Sadly, this was a huge let down. No wonder it was so empty.
