This restaurant is relatively new and I was craving kalguksu so I decided to give this place a try. When I entered, I was greeted by the owner. There is a kiosk to order and you also seat yourself. We came for brunch on a Sunday and it wasn't too packed. Their menu is pretty simple and straightforward. We tried the king ribs jjamppong with Kalbi and bulgogi. I ordered the noodle combo to share with my friend. If you check in at the restaurant, you also get an order of bulgogi. Overall, the food was delicious, I wish the jjamppong broth was a little stronger in flavor. I liked the noodles and the meats though. One last comment is, they do not need to have Mikey Chen's photos outside their restaurant. Apparently, he visited this restaurant and said it is a "must-try." read more

And because we enjoyed our UberEATS delivery, we decided to pay a visit and enjoy the king ribs jjamppong with seafood one fresh and spicy. We ordered the chicken noodle soup together with king ribs. They're cooked to perfection. The best I ever had. The ribs are so tender and falling off the bones. Seafood are yummy and the spicy soup is the best. We couldn't stop eating. My 1.5 year old toddler enjoyed the chicken noodle as well. It wasn't spicy so it was just perfect for him. You will need to try the kimchi together with it as it's freshly made there. My husband said, you can spot the difference from fresh and not in that kimchi. He mentioned, it was the best kimchi he ever had It's really worth our drive. I would highly recommend this place. I'm pretty introverted, so the less human interaction I have, the better! You walk in, order from a screen and when you order is ready, your order number pops up on the little number counter by the kitchen. They have so many combos and the portions are huge. Chicken noodle soup is good for everyone as it warms your body on a cold day. If you order it spicy, your soup will be red. King ribs jjamppong was delicious. The rib was fall-off-the-bone tender, and it worked really well with spicy jjamppong soup. Stir-fried beef with noodles is my top pick since I like stir fried stuff lol. Another restaurant that opened up in Carrollton from Plano and saves me 15 minutes of driving home! Hey, 15 minutes is a lot when you live damn near in Crowley. Kooksoo is hidden off of Hebron on the other side of the overpass passing Oh Mart. We've ate at the original once and always wanted to go again for awhile now. Then they open a location in Carrollton. YAY. Since I've had the bulgogi, the spicy chicken soup, and the king rib jjamppong at the other location, I wanted to try something different. I got stir fried beef noodles. I really liked it, but the Parmesan I can do without. I think the parm overpowered the rest of the dish. I am not a big fan of parm anyway. Same system as Paik's). I came by tonight and tried their king rib jjampong (signature dish). Honestly, I hadn't looked at too many pictures before coming here so I wasn't sure what to expect. I gotta say I've never seen better looking jjampong in my life. Presentation is a 10/10. Not too spicy (you can customize the spice level) and they're very generous with the seafood. The meat on the ribs fell right off the bone and it was super flavorful. Loved their side of kimchi too. I'm definitely coming back here within the next week to try out their other dishes! I'm so glad Kooksoo made it to Carrollton. The kimchi is so on point that I want to say that you come for the noodles, but you stay for the kimchi. The pepper powder melds just so finely with the fish sauce and sweetness of the napa cabbage. Peppery then salty the sweet, then peppery at the end. I had the spicy chicken noodles and the anchovy broth was subtle but not weak. You know it's anchovy but it's not overpowering. And the noodles were bouncy and satisfying. If I had to dock a point, it's the onion by--I wondered if it had been sautéed a bit to soften up, it would have added a better texture, as otherwise I found it a bit chewy. A lot has changed over the last few years and many places have closed or changed hands. I don't know what applies to Kooksoo, but they are doing it right. Thanks guys! read more

This location is great! It's definitely on the smaller side inside but it's just as good as the Plano location. We went on a Tuesday during lunch and there were only a few other tables being served. Their service was amazing. They took and fulfilled our order very promptly. The combo with the beef kooksoo and kimbap was a good deal. Their kimbap is very authentic and delicious. Interior: We found the interior to be cute and clean. We also appreciated the soothing music and that we didn't have to try to talk over it. We've tried: -King ribs Jjampong with seafood. My husband isn't normally a soup person but he inhaled the spicy soup! The broth was harmonious and gentle in flavor while it had all the flavors it needed. The noodles were fresh and chewy. The seafood was also fresh! The giant rib was my husband's favorite part. The meat came right off the bone and was soft and delicious. -Sir Fried Beef over rice. The beef seemed a little bit of a fusion with the parmesan topping. We've never thought to top Korean beef with parmesan, but it was surprisingly delicious. -Bibim Koosoo. This spicy noodle dish is one I normally love and Kooksoo does it right. The noodles were fresh, soft, and chewy. The sauce was perfection.
