I've never had an experience like I did at Koppelman Dental. My previous dentists have all been friendly, but I've never received such personalized service like I did yesterday afternoon. From the receptionists, to the technicians, to the hygienist, to Dr. Koppelman himself; everyone was welcoming, informative, and thorough. I was lucky enough to stumble upon them by a simple google search of "dentists in my area." They took a 3D image of my teeth, and showed me EXACTLY what areas to focus on. I LOVE Dr. Adam Koppelman! I am writing this after my second visit with him. I haven't seen a dentist in 4 years since I had my braces removed and I decided to get my dental exam/dental cleaning at Koppelman Dental. BEST DECISION EVER! Before my first appointment, I was nervous of being shamed for not seeing a dentist earlier. However, the warmth from everyone in this office including Dr. Koppelman, Eric (the dental hygienist), and all the receptionists completely relieved my worries! They make me WANT to go to the dentist! During my dental cleaning, Eric explained EVERYTHING he was doing. He also informed me of the do's and don'ts with brushing teeth, mouthwash, flossing, etc which I truly appreciated. I asked a TON of questions about dental hygiene and he answered each one thoroughly. I enjoyed Eric's humor too! I felt like he was a friend who was cleaning my teeth while also educating me on how to improve my dental hygiene. Within this same first appointment, Dr. Koppelman informed me that my x-rays indicated that I had 3 cavities. I slightly panicked because I never had cavities up to this point and I've always tried to maintain proper dental hygiene. Dr. Koppelman noticed my fear and explained everything that his cavity filling procedure entails. He was patient and calm. He reassured me that he is always available if I have any questions. For the first time ever, I didn't feel rushed by a doctor. Today was my second visit with Dr. Koppelman for my cavity filling. Once again, he was very thorough in explaining what he would be doing. He emphasized that he didn't want me to feel any pain and he kept his word! While he was filling the cavities on the right side of my mouth, I felt cold sensitivity on my left cavities. He stopped, put a sealant, and filled my left cavities to stop the pain. It worked! He continued to fill my right cavities and the whole procedure was painless! I've seen a ton of doctors the past few weeks for dermatology, OB/GYN, PCP, etc to get all my checkups done and Dr. Koppelman is by far my favorite doctor. I love everyone there - the receptionists, administrative staff, dental hygienists, dental assistants, and of course, my dentist! I work in an emergency department and have worked in health care for a few years prior, and I can confidently say that Dr. Koppelman is truly one of a kind. He CARES about his patients! I went in for a routine cleaning and a cosmetic dentistry consultation for an implant crown replacement. I have been going to Koppelman Dental for over two years. They have the best service of any dentist I've ever visited. When I started using my new mouth guard in the middle of COVID, it didn't fit correctly, and they offered to remake it free of charge (and they'd already remade my whitening trays for free in the past). It turned out I could just cut the mouth guard slightly to adjust it to my mouth, without having to go into the office in the middle of the pandemic, but I appreciated how willing to help they were. I'll always remember my first appointment when they re-taught me how to brush my teeth ("treat your toothbrush like your hair brush...don't press it into your head"), hah! Went there a few years ago for a cleaning a check up. They did first the cleaning then the check up. During the cleaning they put a paste on my teeth and this paste was not totally off when the dentist came in to check my teeth, I could feel the tool stick to the paste and the dentist confused it with the beginning of a cavity and told me to catch it. Clearly it worked me. Fast forward 6 years and other dentists visits that sort never came up for discussion proving that I was right, nonetheless the dentist worried me for no reason. Also, they were offering CANDIES, at the front desk. REALLY??? I was disappointed and confused by that offering. I haven't had a candy in 15 years and didn't expect a dentist to offer me one. What can I write about Dr. Adam Koppelman ? He is an exceptional oral surgeon and an exceptional human being. I met Dr. Koppelman about 3 years ago while I was a patient at another dental practice. I had an issue that he took care of straight away. He is a highly skilled and competent oral surgeon. He answered all of my questions and he was readily accessible post surgery. He has such precision that I can say the procedure was basically painless. I mean it's oral surgery. It's going to hurt. But Dr. Koppelman is so gentle. Most importantly he makes you feel like you are the only patient he has...and he has lots of patients. He's genuine through and through. When I found out he was starting his own practice, I was there in a New York minute. He practices with his father, Dr. Paul Koppelman. And yes...the apple does not fall far from the tree. Dr. Paul is very,very good at what he does. And from the moment you meet him, he puts you at ease. The office is equipped with the latest dental technology. There's a dental lab onsite, a 3D x Ray scan and 3D printer. Dr. Adam has made a crown for me from the 3D printers!! From a PRINTER!! Both Dr. Adam and Dr. Paul are not only skilled clinicians, they are artists. They can reengineer your mouth onsite! No waiting. They are equipped with tools to perform a routine cleaning to providing someone with a whole new mouth if needed. It's no surprise their staff reflects the kindness and the high quality care they give their patients. The Reception and Billing staff work with you to accommodate your schedule as well as work with your insurance to make certain you're billed appropriately for the services rendered. The Dental Hygienist and Dental Assistants are thorough and friendly. You leave the dental chair with an understanding of your care and next steps to be taken if you have a return visit. I always feel well taken care of here. I've been traveling for the past few months. And Dr. Adam found a colleague of his out West who I can see in between my NYC. He looks out for me and my mouth. I waited about 25 minutes for my appointment, which was scheduled for 3:30 in the afternoon. No one else was even in the waiting room so not sure why it took so long. A good chunk of this time I was waiting in the dentist's chair twiddling my thumbs, listening to one of the doctors loudly scold her assistant for not ordering supplies she needed, right next to my "room" if you can call it that. Basically just dividers as walls. Dr. Koppelman was nice but he quoted me $4500 for Invisalign express which is $1500 more than the next person I saw (also, if you Google the range for this treatment you'll find it's supposed to cost between $1800 and $3500). When I asked how this compared to the price for braces he said it would cost the same, which is an outright lie. A more cosmetic option like Invisalign is always going to cost more. To top it off I was not told about any kind of consultation fee before, during or after the appointment. That was a nice surprise when I logged into my insurance website to see they had filed a claim for $150 for the consultation, and that I supposedly owed $70 of that. Not sure why they have such stellar Yelp reviews but it seems fishy to me. Maybe these guys are fine for regular dental but definitely don't go for Invisalign, they will try to rip you off. read more

I had been putting off going to the dentist for some time mainly due to bad prior experiences. After some research I chose Koppleman Dental primarily for convenience. Dr Adam Koppleman was nothing short of remarkable. Not only did I feel extremely comfortable he explained every part of the process (consultation, cleaning and crown) in a way which was not only easy to understand but informative. The crown process took about 1.5hours (if not less) from start to finish (which I did not know was possible!) due to the state of the art equipment. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! I usually dread going to dentist for obvious reasons, however Dr. Koppelman and his team did an amazing job from giving absolute amazing customer service to outstanding treatment. I was having a tooth pain that seemed like it was related to a previous filling that I have gotten from a different dentist. Although I was convinced that I might have to get a major procedure done, it turned out to be that all I needed was cleaning and the hygienist found a piece of food stuck in my gum. I immediately felt better (as she assured that I would). I would definitely like to highlight the excellent customer service given by Tina (billing/receptionist). Tina took her time in explaining how my insurance will get charged for procedures that were recommended. The hygienest Yelenia (IDK if I spelled her name right) was highly informative and patient. I absolutely loved the amount of care and attention each and every person gave. It helped me trust their opinion. I was a first time patient but I most definitively will be going back. Key note: they do not push you to do procedures that are not necessary, and as the Dr. Koppelman says he likes to take the conservative approach. I recently visited the office and received a cleaning, filling, extraction and crown, all in the span of 2.5 hours. Oh, and may I just mention that it was literally painless throughout. First of all, Adam Koppelman is not only unbelievably gentle, (like father, like son) but he's also amazing at utilizing all the latest technology. My crown was made in front of me using a 3D printer in under 15 minutes! It was fired, colored, and placed in another 20!! No more going to the dentist to get fitted and then having to return a week or two later, check the fitting, shave it down, etc. It's all done while you wait! And if you are considering Invisalign, the dentists will make all the trays with 3D tech while you're seated! There are less than a handful of dentists in the country doing this and Adam is one of them. Are you afraid of needles? Both Paul and Adam are so gentle you never feel the needle even inject you!! In conclusion, I used to live in Manhattan and went to see Dr. Paul every time I needed work. Now I fly in from LA to see his son Adam because he's so good I'd rather get my work done out of state than do it in Los Angeles (where I now reside).
