Wow, not your typical dentist! From the moment you step in, you can feel that a lot of care was put into every little detail of this place. I was really impressed in the cleanliness of the place and friendliness of the staff. Having moved numerous times in the past decade, I've visited a lot of different dentists, and this one is head and shoulders above the rest. And of course, I can't forget the actual cleaning itself which was done professionally and with care. This is really the benchmark against which I'll compare all other dentists from now on, but hopefully I won't be moving anytime soon! Full disclosure I am a personal friend of Joyce's although my review is honest and unbiased. I visited Dr Joyce Suh's new practice Terra Dental after hearing that she had just opened up a new dental practice. I had an issue where two of my veneers were started to turn black because of a root canal treatment I had behind those teeth. I saw multiple dentists who recommended all sorts of solutions, ranging from veneer replacement (~$5K) to crowns (~$10K) and not fully covered by insurance due to this being a cosmetic treatment. Dr. Suh was very honest and suggested a much simpler and lower-cost solution to have my teeth bleached instead of replacing what I have. Within 3 days I already noticed a huge improvement and 3 weeks later my teeth literally look like new. I would highly recommend Dr Suh to anyone seeking honest, quality and affordable dental treatment. And the cherry on the cake is that this is probably the most comfortable and aesthetically pleasing dental office I've ever visited! No harsh white lights and unfriendly dental hygienists. I never thought I'd describe a dentist visit as epic, but this place was really impressive. The care was top notch and the clinic feels like it's from the future, really thoughtfully designed, more like a museum than any dental office i've been to. Family run clinic with just Dr. Suh, so I got what felt like a very personalized experience. The waiting room already feels like you're at a luxury spa, with comfortable couches and sleek decoration rather than the typical assortment of sterile plastic chairs and old magazines. The receptionist, Marla (sp?) was patient in guiding me through some of the housekeeping. Most the paperwork was done online ahead. Started on time, no waiting, so we're off to a strong start. Dr. Suh is very attentive, over-communicated the issues, i.e. my cavities, and outlined the best remedies. This included why in some cases she thought preventative measures made sense for me in the long term instead of getting straight to drilling, unless it was really necessary. The rest of the staff that assisted Dr. Suh were also fantastic. All of the equipment was new and state-of-the-art, including this device that could create a 3D model of my teeth in a few seconds that could be displayed on an mega sized ipad type thing (I wish I took a picture of this, was truly futuristic feeling). Was a helpful to have that visual tool to be able to rotate it around and zoom in like a Google maps of my mouth while discussing the various dental matters. Super intuitive. Extra brownie points for supplying Gentle Monster sunglasses (didn't expect something so trendy at the dentist lol) so the lights aren't so bright while they're doing their work, as well as sound cancelling headphones to play music over the sound of dental tools. I was welcome to pick whatever songs I wanted from their entertainment system (hooked up to Spotify). It was very comfortable, could practically take a nap during the cleaning. read more

I recently visited Terra Dental in Hell's Kitchen and was thoroughly impressed! I was looking for a dentist near me and really glad I found them! It's very convenient right near the ACE subway. The interior decor is luxurious but warm. They use really cool cutting-edge AI technology too to detect my cavities. This was, without a doubt, the best dental experience I've ever had. The expertise and attention to detail exhibited by the Joyce was truly remarkable. She took the time to explain everything thoroughly, addressing concerns I've had for years (including some orthodontic stuff that I would have thought I'd need to see a specialist for) with practical, effective solutions. On top of that Allen is running a tight ship and this was like the smoothest administrative experience I have ever had with any doctor of any kind really. After going I realized it was not in my insurance, but I ended up paying for a membership anyways (until I can switch my insurance next year) because honestly I thought long term the investment was worth it. Also the crazy thing about insurance is that the highest quality option is not the most expensive. Even though this place is way nicer and Joyce is way better, it's not necessarily much more expensive than other options. I wholeheartedly recommend Terra Dental to anyone seeking top-notch dental care in NYC. The practice was gorgeous, and felt more like stepping into a high end spa with TVs in the treatment room with access to streaming sites, Aesop soap, sunglasses to use during the treatment, among other things they provided. The receptionist was so prompt and kind and the appointment was right on time. Truly luxury customer experience and state of the art technology that made me feel like my prior dentistry experiences were stuck in the 1990s and Terra is in the future of dental care. Joyce was able to offer solutions for my aesthetic concerns that multiple other dentists had told me would not be possible to fix. The xray bite tools were small and painless unlike the typical large, heavy, and extremely painful ones that I had been used to. The dental scan gave me a real time 3D view of my teeth and bite, in a way that I had never seen before.
