This is a sloppy burger even with a good bun but these buns crumble so beware or you'll be wearing it! Lime malt perfect! My wife had cheeseburger with onion rings and a root beer malt. It's been a while since I've eaten here. But I decided to stop in and get a grilled chicken breast sandwich with lettuce tomato and mayo. The burgers here are huge and delicious! Love the fried onions. You can customize with whatever toppings you want. I also tried the onion rings. They are really good too. Of course we had to get ice cream! We tried the smile sundae. It reminded me of a peanut buster parfait at DQ. Only twice the size. There are lots of options for ice cream plus every day they have two flavors of the day. We were only in Wisconsin for a week and we ate here twice. I think if we lived here we would probably eat here once a week. read more

This review is specifically for the custard. I have not had the hot foods (well, except the fries, which were spectacular). This place will be a permanent friend to me in my new home in this area. It was one of the first places I discovered here last summer. It was toward the end of a year-long gastrointestinal illness and the custard was one of the only things I could digest. I can't describe how heavenly it was to enjoy such a creamy, sumptuous dessert after a year of eating almost nothing. I have loved nearly every flavor I have tried, but my favorites so far have been Burgundy Cherry and Mocha Chip. I can now digest small amounts of nuts, so the Turtle Sundae is a new fave. The regular chocolate and vanilla are awesome anytime. I love that they have an online preview of what flavors are coming up, and they also have a nice pamphlet each month at the cash registers if you prefer a physical copy. I have found that the custards servers are fast and efficient, and the more often you come, they will get to know your face and will smile more easily. There is nothing bad to say about Kopps. My kids and I go there no less than once a week. The grilled cheese is a no-brainer winner but "pro tip" add tomato to the grilled cheese. This will allow kids to get a veggie without compromising the taste. Be sure and get custard before leaving as well. They will never give "small scoops" for kiddos. AWESOME experience! Ordered ONLINE with one of the easiest interfaces I have encountered with online ordering. Simple boxes to check and review of everything. Smooth payment as well. The excellent quality of the frozen custard creations is consistent and the service is friendly. Surprisingly the hamburgers are large and very good too. Not nearly as good as the one on 76th street. Custard was still good but the burger and onion rings were not up to standards. Onion Rings over a salted, a big soda and a bottle of water to finish half of them. Cheeseburger smelled great and that's were it ended. Burger was half on the bun. Cheese??? The new buns do not hold up to the sauce they use for the Buffalo Chicken sandwich. The new buns they are using get soggy and gross. We have generally had good experiences there. However, we have received undercooked burgers. If it was a little pink, fine. If it were cooked medium rare at a better quality restaurant or at home, fine. But at Kopp's? The burgers are paper thin anyway, so I am very concerned about how one can be so undercooked. I am happy to report that the menu has not changed and everything is as good as ever. The burger is my absolute favorite item on the menu. It's also one of the best burgers I've ever had. Unfortunately the grill menu is limited featuring only burgers sandwiches and a few sides. Only fish, chicken, and grilled cheese sandwiches are available. If you haven't tried frozen custard it's different from ice cream in that it is richer and a little sweeter. It is far superior to that nasty soft serve which is served at Dairy Queen and McDonald's. If you are familiar with Culver's custard it is the same. Only three flavors are available on a given day including vanilla chocolate, and the flavor of the day. A nice selection of specialty sundaes is featured. All the locations have the same menu and are consistently good. read more

Even 10 minutes before they closed there were still dozens of people there with more arriving! I ordered the Kopp special sundae and it was incredible. They do have a grill too which I didn't realize, so next time I come I'll order some onion rings. I wish they had a drive through, and a location near my home in Michigan! Lol. This time around we snatched up some Crispy Hot Fries and a scoop of both the flavors of the day. I live right down the street and find this custard to die for! Highly recommend. The atmosphere is peculiar with all the fake plants tho.

Shake was great, onion rings OK, but the chicken sandwich was inedible. The chicken looked mechanically tenderized (think minute steak), about 1/4 inch thick and overcooked. The bun was mushy. Lettuce and tomatoes were fresh and delicious. Bottom line: Price way up, quality way down. Will be returning, but for custard only. read more

I will be honest, when I got to this region of America I thought the signature burgers here like culver's was gross. But we visited Kopp's not too long ago after our fun day at the Milwaukee public museum and it was seriously one of My top favorite burgers! You have to order your Food and then wait for it. There is seating around the corner but you have to keep your eye out for those coming and going so you can get a seat! The burger is simple yet delicious. Toppings like tomatoes, jalapenos, ect are available but are extra so if you like veggies in your burger be aware it does not come standard with it! Their fries are also delicious along with the onion rings. The burger is also huge we were able to keep half for later! I will definitely be back to try their frozen custard, kinda sad it way too cold for custard that day for us lol read more
