Simply the greatest Frozen Custard ever. I have been seeing the praises of this place for at least a year. The funny part is that I have always had their Chocolate, I thought that you could simply not get any better than that. OH LORD was I wrong! I was able to try their "Mr. Fudgie" aka the best Mint Chocolate with Oreos and GIANT chunks of Fudge tossed in. At the same time I was able to have their Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough (which is AWESOME). The best part of this place is the purely creamy taste that is superb frozen custard that Kopp's makes.... The guy that scooped mine up gave at least 2 times as much as I ordered. I wanted a scoop each of their flavors of the day in a waffle cone. He gave two of each! The cone was as big as my head! Kopp's is a landmark. It's first shop on Appleton Ave closed when I was a kid, but it sprung up several more locations. Each location serves excellent quality jumbo burgers about 6-7 inches across. But Kopp's is not my pick for best burger. Kopp's is my pick for best frozen custard in Milwaukee. If you don't know what frozen custard is and you are in Milwaukee don't stop at a Culver's for your first lick, head straight to Kopp's. Cons : Attrocious prices. Double cheeseburger, single cheese burger with bacon, two orders of fries, 1 drink and two orders of 1 scoop custard. $26+ change. Pros : The quality of the burger was the highest I've tasted in the States, very delicious sammich. You could taste it from the beef to the tomato, fresssshhhhhh and high quality. Fries were okay nothing special, same with the custard, I prefer Culvers custard. I'd come again and next time I'll just stick with the burger for around $8-10, expensive? Yes. Delicious? Yes. Kopp's custard was amazing! I am out of town for business from the NorthEast and am an ice cream fanatic! Wanting to experience the local flavor of WI, my colleague and I decided to try Kopp's. The service was great and the place was hopping for a Wednesday night! I tried the May Sundae of the Month which was a Chocolate and Banana cream pie sundae. The "small" sundae was gigantic and came with vanilla custard that was covered in some banana purée, along with fresh bananas, chocolate slices, and pieces of gram cracker to simulate the pie crust! Absolutely delicious! If you are in town, I would definitely recommend putting Kopp's into your itinerary! read more

When we bought our house, we mapped out how far away we'd be from Kopp's before finalizing our offer (#MilwaukeeProblems). Turns out, we're just about 20 minutes away from each of the three locations (which is not ideal, given that we used to be within walking distance!). The Brookfield location has become out most frequent Kopp's option because of its convenient placement on Bluemound Rd. Unlike the other locations, this one is more seating-friendly, with tables inside and picnic tables scattered outdoors. The food is consistently great regardless of location. I've yet to be disappointed with a delicious Kopp's burger and the rotating custard menu. The staff is friendly, the customers are happy, and the menu is terrific - what more could you ask for? read more

Love their flavor of the day, the only thing I find fault with is that sometimes, too much is added to the custard, making it more of add-ons than actual custard. Best hamburger hands down! Always greeted with smiley faces and white uniforms. The flair of the day is always something new to try! Visited here for my first time last night with my husband who is from Wisconsin. We had burgers and fries and custard for dessert. The place was slammed busy for a Thursday night in my opinion. The food was made fresh and served hot. You have to eat outside but the tables and eating area were clean and the night was beautiful. The food was delicious - large burgers and big bag of fries. I have been going here since I was a kid every time I visit family in Wisconsin. Today was no exception and with delight it was still as good as I remember it. Burger was cooked well, cheese ease real and meaty and the bun was buttery. The cashew Carmel flavor of the day was everything it was supposed to be for a famous custard joint to delivery. I have noticed a significant change in Kopps custard. They use to give you tons of flavorful ingredients in your respective custard, where you tasted something in every bite. That is no longer the case. It is now very few ingredients added so much so that we have to add for extras, which was the norm in the past. Not really happy with this change. To walk into Kopp's is to walk into a different time - the interior and personnel seem frozen in the 80s (90s? 70s? I have no idea but it's not the 2010s!). For that, I love the escape from normal life. My personal favorite is Leon's (ahh!!), whereas I think the flavors at Kopp's can be a bit hit and miss. However, we stopped by here for some custard since we were in the area and the Maple Pecan frozen custard was absolutely fantastic. Blew my mind! Not sickly sweet, but full of flavor and great texture in the custard. And the wafer is always tasty. Will definitely stop by this place if I'm in the area, but won't necessarily go out of my way to come here. read more

It is an institution, Great Burgers, great Custard. The only thing holding it back from one more star is it is difficult to eat there. At lunch the 1/2 dozen tables are all full, the counter on the one side is crowded. It is hard to eat the delectable and greasy food without getting it on yourself because you have to sit on a bench or go to the car. They use Neuske's Bacon!!! Been coming here for a while and have really loved their great custard and unique flavors, but seriously disappointed lately on how much these guys are skimping on their toppings in their custard. I have gotten 5 different flavors now over this summer where I only got about 1/4 of the toppings that I used to get or think is needed to get the flavor profile they are trying for. It's such a bummer to go looking for interesting flavors like berries and cream and to get no berries! If I wanted just vanilla, I would get that. I drive 15 minutes to get these flavors and its not an unreasonable request to get the flavors you ordered. Stop skimping! I hope they can get it together so I can continue to love their custard! What more needs to be said about Kopp's? At its best there's no ice cream or custard that compares. The velvety, silky thickness is ideal. The flavor has that unique richness the egg yolks provide. When the right flavor of the day comes along it's heavenly. Coconut cream pie is one of my favorites. The burgers are large and tasty if not a bit plain from a seasoning standpoint for my taste. Just go if you're in Milwaukee. Culver's only exists because of Kopp's. read more
