    Galbi Dolsot Bibimbap
    Brandon F.

It was my first time going to this restaurant and I loved it. They first bring out warm tea and side dishes (Banchan). The banchan was complimentary and it was all refreshingly good. We order the seafood scallion pancake as our appetizer and I really liked it. Drizzled in soy sauce it was a perfect balance of sweetness of the seafood and salty from soysauce. My meal was the Galbi Dolset Bibimbap. It came in a scorching hot stone pot, smoke and aroma filled the surrounding table. The Bibimbap was such a good blend of sensation: smokiness, crunch, sweetness, savory, and spicy. The rice became hard and gave an amazing crunch with every bite, the vegetable balance a lot of the flavors and meat of the short rib galbi was so tender. Unfortunately it was a little oily but other wise 4/5.

I just stepped out for lunch at Korea Garden. Prior to this is was a short lived Korean restaurant which has since closed and has reverted back to the original Korea Garden, at least in name only which was in business at this location for many years prior. I am not sure about the ownership though. They pulled out all the uncomfortable furniture and reverted to what was there previously. Except they couldn't revert to the stained wood walls since the last folks had painted black. I ordered the galbi dolsot bibim bap and it was great. Perfect for a cold day. The restaurant also provided the customary apps like Kimchi etc. Service was efficient as well.

Terrific Korean barbecue spot with grills/hoods over each table! Though the mall itself was relatively quiet because of the Fourth of July holiday, the restaurant was boppin' along with a diverse clientele. With our green tea, we indulged in the delicious banchan side dishes (my favorites were the pickled cucumbers, the pickled onions and (we think) apples, and the kim chi) before diving into delicious fried Mul Mandu dumplings, Tteok Bokki (stir fried rice cakes served in a hot sauce), Japchae (stir fried glass noodles, beef, and vegetables), FishKatsu (breaded fish cutlet), and three types of meat to barbecue: Galbi Gui (marinated beef short ribs), Bulgo Ki (marinated sliced rib eyes), and Spicy Marinated Pork (). Would definitely return for a tasty meal complete with lovely service!

Came for lunch, and have mixed feelings. My soft tofu stew doesn't taste like any other soft tofu stew I had in other Korean restaurant (including restaurants in Korea). The tofu isn't soft at all; instead it's almost firm with a rubbery texture. My husband's beef bulgogi stew isn't bad, but nothing special. This place doesn't have lunch menu, so we had a mediocre expensive lunch.

I'd been to Korea Garden once or twice prior to COVID and had a good sit down dining experience. I recently ordered to-go from them and again had a pleasant experience. I've seen enough of a positive trend to finally get my review together. Korea Garden offers a selection of authentic Korean food and Korean BBQ. The BBQ seems a bit pricy, but the quality is decent. They also offer hot bowls and bibim bop meals which are my personal favorites. Regardless of what you order, you get a selection of various sides. If you are dining in, these sides are 'all-you-can-eat', so make sure you let them know if you'd like more of any particular dish. I was very excited to see these sides also came with my to-go order! I won't comment on the look and feel of the place as I have not been back for sit-down since COVID, however, I had no complains prior. Service is friendly and if you aren't familiar with Korean food or the options they take the time to make sure you know what you're ordering. Enjoy!

Octopus hot stone bowl bibimbap ( )

I came here on two separate days - once pre-Covid and once post-Covid. The first time I came with family members and tried their bqq. Overall, the service was good and the galbi & samgyupsal (pork belly) were tasty. The one thing that upset us is that they cut our meat before they grilled it which is a big no no, especially for the galbi. It also wasn't busy at all when we went so they were definitely more attentive to us and may be why the service was better. I went here for a second time yesterday and didn't get bqq. Instead, I got the octopus hot stone bowl bibimbap. I asked for it to be extra spicy and it was definitely just as spicy as I wanted it to be (after adding a decent amount of the gochujang sauce as well). It was decent, not sure if I would come here to order it again though. The service definitely was not as good as the first time because there were bigger parties there that all ordered bqq so they were a lot more attentive to them. *Warning: the hot stone bowl makes the food HOT and it will stay hot for a while. If you're impatient like me, just keep spooning it onto the little side plate they give you and cool it as you eat.

    Bibim bop

Had a really nice outdoor lunch here. Was not planning to come, but was in the area and was disappointed to find that the place I was headed to was closed. This was nearby, and was very glad to have wandered in. I had the bibim bop, and everything was fresh and tasty. I'm not a connoisseur of Korean food, but having had a few trips past a food truck or two, I didn't come in totally ignorant. The layout was gorgeous, with a full bowl and six accompanying bowls holding rice and five side dishes including kimchi, beans, and sprouts as examples. It was all good. With a soda, the total was about $15 with tax before tip. The service was very good, accommodating, and friendly. The clientele fit the demographic of the food pretty well, so that tells me something about its authentic appeal. I'd definitely recommend and return.

First time here. Quality and flavor of the meat is great, but not AYCE. So for what you get, portion wise, overpriced. Service is friendly and good. Side dishes just ok.

    Cold noodle disgust!
    Mary Y.

We ordered kalbi and cold noodles tonight as the warm weather was perfect for this combo. The cold noodles were from the freezer bc it barely pulled apart and was too soggy. I know this bc I've prepared the $1.99 frozen cold noodles before. Also the broth was just plain nasty. Drained in chicken stock from the cube barely dissolved with tons of MSG. The kalbi was cooked from the kitchen as it was a single serving. It was served luke warm and very dry. When I addressed the clumps of cold noodles found in the bowl to the server and that I can not eat it anymore, she stirred the chopsticks around the bowl a few times and said, "Okay, I won't charge you any tax on the total." I paid for the meal and left in disgust. When I got home, I drank tons of water as the MSG left a bad taste in my mouth and stomach. $52 dollars of grief is what I ended up with.

Korea Garden offers Korean-style BBQ. They're in a shopping center near Montgomery Country Community College. Their interior is simple, not spartan. There's a main dining area, some rear seating, and a sushi bar. What's Korean BBQ? It involves cooking at your seat; think Japanese hibachi on a smaller scale, but you cook (the inexperienced can request the kitchen cook instead). An electric grill is at each table. Choose from a selection of meats, including beef and pork ribs. The meat is marinated with a soy-based sauce, sesame oil, ginger, and peppers. The flavors of the barbeque tend to be more sweet than spicy. Banchan - small side plates - accompany entrees. They can be eaten solo or with the entree. They vary depending the day of the week - you might end up with tofu cubes, potato salad, or anchovies! A plate including garlic, red peppers, lettuce, and a bean sauce will also arrive. Fire them on the grill (using tongs or chopsticks) in tandem with the meat. It's said to be healthier - either way, it certainly tastes better eating them cooked instead of raw! Meat plates usually have a lot of meat. Unless you're hungry, share with a friend instead of working solo. Cook meat as long as you want on the grill. Wrap the meat with the lettuce and a little bean sauce. Lackluster service (ate here last summer) is sometimes an issue here. No show-stoppers, but it is an area that the restaurant can improve in. Speed of service was an issue on several occasions. Service doesn't matter so much since you cook for yourself but a carafe of water would be nice. If you've never experienced a Korean BBQ, go! The cooking meat may make you smell like barbeque but it's worth it. Korea Garden's quality of cuisine shines and it is easily one of the best barbecues in the area. Recommended as long as you can tolerate okay service. Reservations not necessary. UPDATE: Recently came back for dinner and had some Chum-Churum sake, that's smooth stuff! Our server (Jude) was cool too. My Jae Yook Bokum ($17; stir-fried pork and vegetables in a spicy sauce) wasn't very spicy, but it was delicious. Can't wait to return!

I admittedly have little experience with Korean restaurants, but I really enjoyed Korea Garden! I grabbed dinner with a friend here last week. The restaurant wasn't crowded at all, but there was a group of pretty drunk men seated right next to us, so it did get noisy. I can imagine it is much worse when it is busier. They started us off with a big selection of banchan - their kimchi was especially good and very spicy. We ordered the spicy original dukbokki, dolsot bibimbap, and soondoobu chigae (a spicy stew with tofu and seafood). Overall, I really enjoyed the food and the portions were plenty big, especially the dukbokki. The stew had just the right amount of spice and was very hearty. The bibimbap had really nice crispy rice on the bottom and plenty of vegetables, although I do think they skimped on the beef and it also lacked flavor. The servers were extremely kind too. Will definitely be back!

You can tell Daniel (the owner) actually cares about how everything runs. The place is clean, organized, and everything flows smoothly without feeling rushed. We even got into a conversation about her trip to Peru, which was a really cool touch it felt natural, not forced, and made the whole experience better. We started with the Leche de Tigre, and it was a perfect opener, fresh, citrusy, and packed with flavor. You get that brightness from the lime with just the right kick, plus the calamari added a nice texture. We also tried one of the specials, the causa, which was light but still full of flavor and a great way to start. For the mains, we went all in. The Cowboy Steak (18 oz bone-in ribeye) was easily the highlight, cooked right, super flavorful, and paired with the huancaína risotto and that huacatay butter... yeah, that combo is no joke. We also had the pollo a la brasa (special, marinated 24 hours), and you can tell it was super juicy, well-seasoned, and done right. We also had the pasta con mariscos, and this one deserves its own mention. Homemade pasta with shrimp, calamari, and mussels in a chupe-style tomato broth rich, flavorful, and comforting without feeling too heavy. Definitely one of those dishes you keep going back to. And I'm not even exaggerating... the table bread with the butter? We were eating like it was part of the main course. That butter is ridiculously good. Dessert sealed it. The lava cake with lucuma ice cream was warm, rich, and balanced out perfectly by the ice cream. We also tried the house-made guanábana sorbet, which was light, refreshing, and the perfect way to finish after a heavy meal. The vibe is what really ties it all together. It's casual enough to hang out with friends and talk, but still nice enough for a date night or bringing family. It doesn't try too hard, and that's exactly why it works. Overall, everything just clicked: food, service, atmosphere. No weak spots. Definitely coming back.
