Our family has been coming to Korea Garden for years, even before Korean BBQ became so popular. A couple of things have always been consistent for us: we pretty much order the same dishes every time (kimchi stew, galbi, bulgogi, and more recently the scallion pancake), and we always leave satisfied. The side dishes are delicious, the meat is delicious, and the soup is delicious. We've also ordered seafood and pork dishes in the past, and they were excellent as well. I especially appreciate the cozy, family-friendly atmosphere of the restaurant. We had a pretty large party in the back room for my sister's birthday. Everything came out quick, hot and fresh. The staff took great care of us. The food was delicious. I loved the spicy chicken bowl I ordered. The fried rice needed a tad bit more season or a sauce. Korea Garden has been around for decades, and it's one of those places I keep coming back to. Korean food in general has gotten pricier over the years, and lunch here will run you around $20-$30, but the quality is consistently good. On my most recent visit, I ordered the Gal Neung combo (naengmyun + galbi). The naengmyun was excellent--chewy noodles, broth ice cold (but not watery), and a delicious flavor that hit the spot. Honestly, it's one of the better naengmyun options in Houston, though I'd still rank Dallas, LA, and of course Korea above it. The galbi was just as good: perfectly barbecued, served sizzling on a mini grill, sweet and savory with just the right amount of char. A couple notes: the lunch special doesn't come with rice (makes sense since the naengmyun is the carb), but you do get a nice assortment of side dishes. Don't expect dessert though--no fruit, shikhye, or yogurt drink that you might find at other Korean spots. The restaurant itself is quite large, with semi-private booths that work well for meetings. I asked for privacy and they kindly accommodated me with a booth in the back. The atmosphere is clean, dimly lit, and feels a little upscale. Parking is also easy, with plenty of spots right in front--no valet hassles. Service was generally good, though it was clear they didn't want us lingering too long. The check came out early, and even after paying we were asked several times if we needed anything else, which made it feel a little rushed. All in all, if you're looking for solid Korean food in Houston, Korea Garden is a great choice. It's not cheap, and it's not a place to camp out for hours, but the quality of the food--especially the naengmyun and galbi--make it worth a visit. read more

My friend saw this place on TikTok as a must try Korean BBQ spot, so we decided to check it out for an early weekday dinner. We did the 3 meat BBQ combo, which easily feeds around 3 people and added a few extra dishes to share. We ordered the jahp chae, which is a stir fried glass noodle with vegetables and beef. It was AMAZING and probably our favorite dish of the night. Super flavorful but not oily at all which is rare for stir fried noodles. This was both of our favorites. We also tried tteok bokki, which is chewy rice cakes in a spicy sauce. They offer the option to add cheese and in hindsight I think that would have made it better. I was really excited for this one, but it didn't fully hit for me. It was good just not amazing and a little more spicy than I personally prefer. Lastly, we tried the yachae jeon which is a vegetable pan fried pancake, and WOW. It was huge, super crispy, and had sooo much flavor for a vegetarian dish. The meats and all the BBQ fixings were incredible. Honestly, every single thing that came to the table was amazing QUALITY and amazing FLAVOR. I also loved that the staff helps cook the meat for you which made the experience way more enjoyable. I have to shout out the customer service. From start to finish, the staff was amazing. They were patient with us as first timers, explained everything clearly, and made us feel super comfortable. We had a vegetarian in our group, and there were plenty of menu options for him. Our Korean friend ended up joining us and fully vouched for the restaurant's authenticity, which says a lot. Overall, this was such an exceptional meal and experience. The only down side now is that the kbbq ayce is probably better since my son and I had a combo meal and added corn cheese it cost us over $100. Yes just the 2 of us. Came here for family birthday lunch and it was fantastic! First of all the flavors were all there. We are a Korean family so we are always looking for a place that satisfies everyone's appetites and this was it. The meat was delicious, the banchan was on point, and of course all of the stews were delish. My dad always get ggomtang where he can. None of us tried it because we don't like those organs but he slurped it down. The special grain rice was delicious and everyone ate that up as well as the bibimbap. My sister got the squid in spicy sauce and I got the mackerel lunch with the daenjang jiggae. I would write all of the Korean names for the foods but I am not sure if everyone knows them. They have a wide variety of stuff and they brought us barley tea/boricha and they also bring you a pitcher of it at the table so you can mix it with your rice as it cooks at the bottom to make this crispy deliciousness all Koreans know. I have been visiting Korea garden for 20 years now. Same menu same interior. I have noticed the Saam jang has changed recently. ( the old recipe was better.) and the tempura platter is much smaller than in the past. Absolutely love this place! It's become a family tradition, I bring all my friends and any out of town guests too. Best ban chan of any Korean place in been to yet. Over the years we've probably had the entire menu. A fave spot for Korean food in the area. I love coming here either for their lunch/dinner menu or kbbq. Plenty of parking spaces in a small plaza off of Long Point. Service is quick and friendly. We always get seated right away. Some of my favorite items are the soft tofu stew with seafood, bossam, and the LA Galbi. I always get the tofu stew every time I'm here. It's my comfort food and pair with the LA galbi makes a great combo. The large bossam could feed 4-6 people. We can never finish it especially when you're also eating all the sides and other dishes. I have also tried kbbq here with a group. We were seated in a private room. You can order off of their combo menu. This was the only place we found with availability and we were sitted. The food is great. But the servers were rude and they all looked frustrated. The food here is delicious freshly made the lunch menu is revamped and has kind of a bento box style to it, but obviously it's Korean restaurant with a variety of different options. The seafood is consistently fresh and well cooked. The kimchi isn't my greatest for my flavor profile, but the food has a large variety on the menu, and the flavors are well developed the Bonchon Taste good and seems to have a different variety throughout the year parking can get a little bit tight in this location so be patient in finding a spot or for be willing to park on the street or across the street. The service is attentive and the AC is extremely strong. Would highly recommend and definitely planning on going back. We recently met up with some friends here for some KBBQ, was a great experience! Food: 5/5 the portions are generous, albeit a tad bit on the expensive side (not AYCE). This is one of the consistent Korean bbq joints on long point. Their Korean bbq is where it's at. Their meats are top quality. We got the beef combo (bnb?) comes with galbi, la galbi, and beef bulbolgi, we also got the thick cut pork belly and the calamari steak. We added on the corn cheese and a pork kimchi tofu soup. The beef combo is amazing, each cut of beef is superb and flavorful. It melts in your mouth. The thick cut pork belly is great. We cook that until it's crispy! The calamari was ok, I wouldn't get it again though. The tofu soup is solid but nothing special. The corn cheese was a hit with my kids. After the Texans' game, my wife and I went to Korea Garden for a quick dinner. This is one of the oldest Korean restaurants in Houston (it's been here 40 years), and it's still here for a reason! We ordered the spicy marinated pork (one of my favorite Korean dishes) and the marinated short rib (again, one of my favorites!), and let the kitchen staff cook it rather than do it ourselves at the table. It was wonderful! The atmosphere here, at least while we were there, was quiet and cozy - perfect for a romantic dinner! Came here for the first time over the weekend and it is safe to say that it is one of my new favorite spots! Even on a Saturday night, we were seated immediately and the service was quick and friendly throughout the meal. The staff even helped us park our car when we couldn't find a spot in the limited parking lot. We ordered the Kimchi Jjigae and the Bul Dak Dol Sot. Both of the dishes were so so delicious. The Kimchi Jjigae was hot, flavorful, and comforting. It paired well with the accompanying rice, too. The Dol Sot was amazing as well--just a great mixture of vegetables, rice, and spicy chicken. The rice was crispy along the bottom and sides of the hot bowl, which added some great texture to the meal. The food came with many side dishes and even a small free dessert (a sort of sweet rice slushie--I'm not sure of the official name) which was all delicious, too. The cherry on top of the cake was that it was not too expensive either! Pre-tax and tip, we paid $30. Given the quality and quantity of the food, it was a steal! It's been around a long time. I always enjoy my time here as well as the food. The draft beer is actually very cheap at $5 a pint. Be careful what you order because you can quickly over order and have too much food. I was ok with the service although its never been really impressive, just ok. Ambience is a tad on the datenight side but don't be surprised a screaming baby is in the booth next to you. They were using a robot to deliver some of the dishes. Heard about the lunch specials and was pleasantly surprised by the quality and quantity of food. I tried the bulgogi stew with spicy pork special and you get a ton of meat. The banchan (sides) are also all delicious but you don't get refills like you normally do with non-lunch specials. We didn't know when we asked for a refill but the waiter was kind enough to give us a little extra. They have a robot serving food that carries the food around but I actually preferred they didn't have it bc it plays extremely loud music. Outside of that I enjoyed everything at the restaurant. This is my first time visiting this restaurant and I can confidently say that it will also be my last. My family and I ordered pork belly, kimchee fried rice and budae jjigae. The kimchee fried rice was a 6/10 and the pork belly was really tough. The worst part was the budae jjigae. I could not believe how badly it smelled and tasted. I read a ton of other reviews (most of them written in Korean) that said the same thing. They either use really old spam/sausage or something because it was truly foul. I took one bite and gagged. We told the owner/server (I think she also cooked the food) and she proceeded to tell us that we would still need to pay for the soup or order something else. To make matters worse, she told us that we would also need to pay for the rice that came with the soup. Like really???? You have the audacity to make us pay for the rice that comes with the soup even though you served us rotten food? The soju that my dad ordered was also from 2024 (it is now 2026). I feel like you can tell a lot about a Korean restaurant by how good their kimchi jjigae is! The kimchi jjigae was amazing, and the whole meal was fresh, tasty, and perfectly spicy! Now when I say, spicy pork bulgogi is one of my most favorite foods in the world. This spicy pork bulgogi was slightly underwhelming. The meat was dry and not what I would call spicy.
