I was fortunate to come dine here for my birthday amongst Covid restrictions only recently being lifted. At first, I was really hesitant with the idea of dining at a restaurant due to the realities of Covid. Upon arrival, I was so impressed to see that the establishment had completely restructured their style of serving food in order to provide more sanitary conditions and increase comfort for their customers. Due to this realization, I had much appreciation for the management of this establishment. There was spaced out seating for outside or indoor options. The service was amazing and the restaurant felt really clean and safe. I highly recommend this establishment to others. Just be sure to prepare yourself for an hour long wait that will be definitely worth it! The person who picks up the phone is a liar!! I'm so mad, I came home after a long day of work and the BF and I wanted to go here so I called to see if there was a wait. The guy said "no, no wait!" Very enthusiastically. So we drove the 20 minutes there.... we get there and there's a line of people...so I give him the benefit of doubt and maybe everyone came in the last 20 minutes? NOPE The people in front of us AND the people behind us all said they called and he told them the same thing. They all drove far too. Ahead of us the people said they've been there for over 15 minutes and there was a line of people in front of them!! The kicker? There's only 5 tables and there were at least 10 groups in line, and they closed at 9:30 and it was already 8:15..... Just tell us there is a line so we don't waste our time!! The best Korean BBQ spot in Riverside, by far. Please give this store a try instead of the typical Gen/Wang Cho. Those franchise KBBQ spots have gone down in quality and up in prices. This place differs from others by having a "self-service." You can get your own meat, sauce, soup whenever you want. No more long wait for your orders. The price is really fair ($21 for lunch and $27 for dinner) and customer service is always outstanding. They greeted us nicely and always come by to make sure we are enjoying. Really enjoy coming here! My first time I went I would have rated 4 stars or less because we were seated in a cramped booth on a super busy night and although I was satisfied with the food the uncomfortable seating made it difficult to cook and maneuver our many plates. I usually spend Friday nights eating out with my younger sister and we've since been back many many times and luckily never got that booth again! ha! What we love about this place is the atmosphere, it's simple, unassuming, no loud music blaring, great attentive service, food is always replenished and they are frequently cleaning and checking. Grills replaced quickly, drink refills are super prompt. And all the staff are super nice and welcoming! They have beef belly (our fave) and daikon. Price is as expected about $27 when we go which is super fair and cheaper than other places we go. It's feels family owned (not sure if it is), but that vibe adds to the coziness of this place. We frequent kbbq places in San Diego, Orange County and back home in Hawaii and this place just feels so homey and nice. Whenever we have kbbq somewhere else we compare it back to Koreana and end up there the following week. Ha! Not to mention the food is delicious! Every time we can't decide what to eat on a Friday night, this place comes to mind! I called before I placed my order with door dash because the items description was incomplete so you don't know what you get. So I called twice to get clarification on 2 separate things and 2 different people answered and they both rushed me off the phone. I hate that! I wouldn't have to call it they left details description on the site of what you get and etc. the reviews on Yelp are mixed and after trying the food they were always accurate in what they said. I order the 1 pound uncooked marinated meats (Bulgogi, spicy baby octopus, Galbi) and a side of kimchi. First let me get this out the way the KIMCHI!! Is just not it!! I doubt they ferment the cabbage it's like they did a flash ferment if they even did it. sad! It's like they just slapped some sauce on it and shook it around. It definitely didn't sit long enough to ferment, didn't have that authentic flavor. It had a taste like a dish soap or cleaner taste wasn't strong but it was something off about it. Didn't taste home made. A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT! This is the reason I wouldn't return. I love kimchi and was so disappointed it didn't have that flavor. The meats were good flavorful not the best I've had but it was good and I didn't feel like I wasted my money here. Spicy octopus: was good! Not tough. It Had a slight kimchi flavor and a tad sweet to my surprise, it wasn't overly spicy it was just right! I was able to enjoy it without my mouth burning. Galbi & Bulgogi was good great texture wasn't too chewy. Both a little sweet just the right seasoning. Again this place is good but it's not the best. I received 4 short ribs. Next time I'll get brisket or more Bulgogi. The meats came with Lettuce Raddish Jalapeño & scallions And a few diff types of Sauce. I might not return, and if I did I would not get the kimchi. And I would not get the short ribs they were good but I feel you get more meat other ways. The price was pretty good they do charge more per item on door dash I think. I think this is my new fave kbbq place in the area! Has good prices, fast do it yourself service, and everything that I want except beef tongue but gen is always out of that anyway. For $27 this place gives you a good bang for your buck, and I love the buffet style self serve meat where you don't need to wait on a server other than a few premier items. The brisket and short rib were my favorite. There is also a small soft serve machine that has vanilla ice cream for you to finish off your meal! Can't wait to come back! read more

Went here for UC Riverside graduation weekend. By far the best I've had in 10 years. Buffet rice, fried foods, Korean small dish appetizers, and soft serve ice cream at end. Buffet raw meat beef pork squid chicken for you to cooks at table. Delicious w the different sauces and white layered rice paper that I never had before. Order special ribs and other seafood to grill at no extra charge. Attendants were extra attentive to water refills and changing the cooking plate when charred over. Very bad experience today. I have been here multiple times in the past decade and today went with my medical (NOT emotional support) service animal. They immediately questioned me and asked for documentation, suggested that I leave, and utterly humiliated me in front of the other guests. Never mind that my service animal is in a small, unassuming carrier and was placed on the ground, and made no intrusive noises or actions since entering the restaurant. They singled me out and made it a point to humiliate and eject me from the restaurant. To the owner: it is illegal per federal ADA laws to subject the person requiring a service animal to the inquisition that your staff did. I will not be returning to this place again. read more

This place is not the best, but it was 19 dollars for lunch. That's pretty cheap for kbbq ayce these days. We mostly ate the chadol, pork belly, and the squid. One thing interesting about this place though is that everything is self-service. I liked that I could get the exact portions I wanted without feeling like a burden to my server. If you don't want to get stuff yourself, this might not be the spot for you though. Don't forget to get the soft service in the corner for dessert! read more

Im not a person to leave reviews at all! But i had gone to this Korean Bbq for the first time ever in riverside, with a friend that is a regular at this place. At first when i walked in, you are welcomed with great amounts of meat and sides. Sauces were labeled and all. So again I was super excited it was self serve barbecue. But the it went all down hill, once our server gave us the bill. I put my card down to pay, she complemented my card, had a design on it, picture of a K-pop idol. Didn't think anything of it. A couple minutes go by and still hadn't received my card, also mentioned it to my friend and she had said it has never taken them so long just to get the check back for her. Around 10 minutes go by and still nothing. Finally got it back, and well everything seemed normal right? Wrong. Had went about my day, didn't take out my card the entire day for the rest of the evening. Until the next morning waking up to a message saying that my card was declined for suspicious activity, And immediately went to the time when i physically took my card out in public was the day before at this restaurant. But to feel that someone took my personal information and try to take advantage of it is a whole different story. Please Please, look into the people you so call your servers because that fact that this happened to me as a person that was just visiting from a different city, is ridiculous.
