I remember coming to Luxe Buffet years ago and actually having a pretty good experience, so I decided to revisit and finally bring my wife with me. Surprisingly, for a Friday night, the place was dead. Back then, I remember waiting 40 minutes to an hour just to get in. This time? We got seated immediately, and honestly... that already lowered my expectations. The selection was still pretty big with a lot of variety, so I started off with the seafood. It was decent. Nothing amazing, but good enough to satisfy the craving without worrying about food poisoning. The crab legs were ridiculously salty though. The biggest disappointment was the hot food section. I honestly don't understand how fried rice and chow mein can taste that bland. Zero flavor. The orange chicken and beef broccoli were okay, but definitely nothing memorable. They also had steak, though I can't remember which cut it was, but it was dry and overcooked. They also had a seafood boil section, but the shrimp were overcooked and the crawfish definitely didn't taste the freshest. It had that slightly off taste where you start questioning if you should keep eating it. Ironically, the best thing I had all night was the Mongolian BBQ. That was actually really good and probably the only thing I genuinely enjoyed. But that's also the disappointing part. If my favorite thing at a buffet is the Mongolian BBQ station, I could've just gone to a regular Mongolian BBQ spot, paid less, and probably enjoyed the meal more. The service also felt pretty off throughout the night. Most of the servers, the workers behind the buffet line, and even the bussers didn't seem friendly at all. Went on a Sunday and I would say only some things are worth it from here. The quality unfortunately did go down over the years. * I recommend the Mongolia BBQ! The taste is actually so delicious. You can pick your own ingredients & they cook it for you! * Surprisingly, the fries were tasty as well! * Some salmon sashimi pieces & the crab legs were yummy! The salmon sashimi was good, but I did notice some pieces were not fresh, and some even looked inedible because there was a green/black residue on it. The other pieces of sashimi were lacking and it didn't taste fresh. In addition, the sushi rolls were okay and even though the new rolls would come out, it seemed dry and not appetizing. I used to come here a lot before 2020, and the quality drastically dropped. Revisited after years to see if anything's changed, quality is average for about $35 pp. Most food was older and just lukewarm from sitting under the heat lamps for awhile. Came on a Monday night & they had lobster claws apart of their seafood. I mainly get sashimi, baked oysters & crab legs when coming here. Sometimes, during a long day of day activity and you forgot to grab breakfast and lunch, and dinner is around the corner, hunger starts kicking in high gear; everything and ANYthing sounds great! After looking around for a Chinese gourmet restaurant, we just happened to be in the Ontario mall area and found that this establishment, "The Luxe Buffet" was opened and they just had their Grand Opening. On top of that, a quick google and IG search revealed the all you can eat Lobster during dinner time. We were hooked and wanted to try this place out!! While it was not too far from the freeways and Ontario Mall, it was tucked into the corner of the Main Street and so it a little tricky following the GPS to get there. Once there, a big parking lot is available for you to park anywhere! Walked in and was greeted immediately by the warm friendly staff and servers. The dinning hall was packed with people and we didn't have to wait at all when we arrived for the walk in. The time was about 4:30pm. Entrance was pretty well taken care of and clean. Reception and interior decor reminded me of crystal palaces and shining bright objects. In the main facility, there are rows of cushion table/seats setup and there are rows of regular open chair and table setups.i didn't get a good count but there has to be roughly 24 booths seating up to 4 comfortably and roughly 40-50 regular square/rectangular tables seating up to 4-6 people. With so many selections to choose from, the choices that you can make for a meal is endless. You have your typical assortment of Stir Fries, open sushi rolls, seafood area, soups from various kinds including the crabmeat soup, a delicacy only served during weddings and special occasions, a Mongolian grill area, dessert based on macaroons and every kids favorite, ice cream cart and machine. This place gave me nostalgic through memory lanes back in the early 90's. The food is great. It is a bit pricey for dinner, but worth it!! Alright. We were hungry pretty much our 1st meal of the day at 7pm. Okay where to start I think we got there right before the dinner rush. Food seems to be left over. Some food cold and over cooked. When we got our 1st plate boyfriend got the brisket super dry and over cooked. I got a duck and dome other things 1st round left over.. 2nd round more people starting to show/ there were people already there enjoy their meal. Then this was the rush it seems. More food and freshly cooked Brisket warm still a bit dry, duck fresh. I had muscle and i wasn't expecting it to be cold but it was and i think that how they prepare it I'm use to it being warm with the mayo and cheese topping. Not bad but prefer it hot. Okay, so first of all OVERPRICED, we came about two hours before closing, which I think is a fair time for a buffet. I was very impressed on how they are handingling things with Covid-19 gloves, hand sanitizer, face shields, and they even took our temperature so applause. But the over all food, which at a buffet is the number thing was HORRID. None of the food was being replenished on time, and everything that was there was overcooked by Buffet heat lamps. Salad bar was Nonexistent, Sushi was basically grocery store sushi, and the only decent thing was the "teppanyaki" which was a glorified Mongolian bbq. Also HELLA DRY BAKED LOBSTER! Not to mention the "Dim Sum" selections they have was a shame, I've had microwaveable Shao mai with better flavor then anything here. And dessert, was the biggest disappointment, a sliding cabinet that looked like the saddest bakery ever. A chocolate fountain that doesn't look like it's been filtered in a while, and basically NOTHING to dip and the fruit was probably the only decent thing. The cool looking rolling freezer wasn't even filled and as soon as the ice cream was handed to me, and I got to my table it was practically soup. I know that this business is probably hanging on by a thread due to Covid-19, but it's a shame after reading so many good reviews, that the experience was an absolute nightmare. Every time we visit Ontario Mall we like coming here in LUXE BUFFET. This buffet is very near Ontario Mills Mall you can even walk from the Mall to this buffet. The reason we like stopping here is for their Lobsters, which are what we mostly eat here. Their lobsters are meaty and tasty. Their Lobsters Buffet is on the weekends only . For their other food we also like their Mongolian BBQ, and most of the tray gets filled fast. It's just that the service is kinda slow in picking up the used plate from our table. For the dinner price, there's no excuse for almost all the food to be cold. I know the crab is served cold, but it didn't seem fresh and the shells just bent instead of cracking. We have wanted to go back to The Luxe for a while now. The price point was prohibitive. Finely went for Mother's Day, $100. For 2 people was disappointing. I was VERY in disappointed, they didn't have near the food selection they used to. Gelato bar was gone and replaced with ice cream cups.... Sashimi selection was very limited and was the same or less than what we get at an AYCE restaurant closer to home. I waited at least 20 min for backed crab on the half shell, it wasn't anything special.. Food line service people were rude and not helpful. Table service was great. My expectations were dashed after waiting so long to go back. I expected way more since it was a holiday. I was expecting what we used to go there for as a nice treat for Mother's Day. I can NO Longer recommend this restaurant as it definitely not what it used to be especially for the price point. Buyer Beware, it is now the run of the mill AYCE, not for me anymore at $100.00 dollars a couple for 2 dinners and one ice tea. Ambiance was nothing special. THE LUXE SUCKS! My party and I had the most absolutely horrific food and service here. As a place that poses as an "upscale" restaurant, it's the knock-off of the buffet world. The only elevated thing about this place is the prices. Don't settle for this overpriced, poorly made food. The Luxe touts that it's a premium spot with fresh ingredients, NOT. The Mongolian BBQ was so dry, the meat was extremely tough and tasted a day old. The coloration of the meat was also questionable. It was gray! The Luxe requires you to pile a plate of meat and other toppings so you can hand it to a rude cook with nasty vibes. I walked up to the grill and he yanked my plate out of my hands. All I said was "hi" and he gave me a despicable look. I was still being kind even after he made me wait 15+ minutes for him to return to his post. Next, he cooks my meat, slaps it on a plate and throws it at me! Don't even get me starting on the waitress... I told her I had a Yelp discount for a free drink and she totally ignored me and said "HOLD ON!" She was asking for our drink orders and purposefully passed me up. My friend defended me and said "hey, he asked for his free drink" and she finally took my drink order. She was very aggressive and dismissive of me. I will strongly discourage my Yelp community members from coming here. Want dessert? Too bad, you have to pay extra for ice cream. They have these cheap ice cream cups (the size of a fruit cup) in a dingy freezer as one of the dessert options. Each cup is an additional $1. This is a scam, dessert SHOULD be included, NOT HERE. The ice cream is dollar store quality, again very poor food options. Each buffet option starts at $39.99 for crappy food, seniors get $3 or so off. I came in for lunch on a weekday, and the place wasn't busy at all. Definitely temper your expectations. This isn't Vegas. For what it is--a mid-level Chinese buffet--it's not bad. There's a decent selection of hot and cold dishes: noodles, fried rice, chicken skewers, dim sum, broccoli beef, etc. Skewers were a little dry, and the stuff that should be crunchy was...not. I was pleasantly surprised that the sushi was decent quality. It's probably not the freshest, but it tasted pretty good and didn't get me sick. There's a Mongolian "bbq" station that's really more of a make-your-own stir fry, but it is freshly made food that I can't complain about. Desserts were really bad, to be frank. Most the cookies were stale, the cake pieces were dry and tasted funny, and the chocolate strawberry station is almost undoubtedly unsanitary. There are also little ice cream cups, and these were probably the best. Overall: Try to come during lunch hours for a good deal, and think of this as a fun experience. Forever blacklisted! I was wondering why a buffet was so empty on a Friday night.. unfortunately now I get it. Didn't have high expectations going in, but also didn't think the food would be so terrible. There are plenty of options, but everything was bland or sitting in a pool of grease. Sushi rolls were actually alright, sashimi very grainy in texture, and raw oysters were so fishy! The raw meat at the build-your-own stir fry station was sitting out and not kept on ice or anything. Price to service and food quality is very bad. The food here is subpar to other cheaper Buffets and the selection is very minimal. The Brazilian meat station is just sausage and some very bad cut of sirloin that is tough, dry, and weird tasting. Everything else including the sushi Dim sum and some of the traditional buffet items are very bland, cold, and overall very low quality. I would not spend the money they ask for this place. I took my family yesterday,interior is nice and quiet, server for our table was attentive and nice. One thing my family would gripe about was the food quality, if you LOVE shellfish like crabs,shrimp and lobster..well you will make your money worth here. Sushi I order is usually cold from other places..they serve room temp sushi and that made me not enjoy the sushi bar...Mongolian cook station was slow and burned/drowned your food in butter which made our noodles inedible. My family has been coming to The Luxe Buffet for many years now. We just recently went last weekend for dinner and it's as good as I remember. The selection of different food options is pretty good, ranging from salad to fruit to sushi to dim sum to cooked dishes. I usually enjoy a little bit of everything and like to get multiple helpings of the lobster. It was a little dry this last time I tried it but for the buffet price, I think it's well worth it! Loved coming to Luxe Buffet. From Rukiah who sat us down to sweet Trista who was our waitress, so attentive, so fast clearing our dirty dishes from the table and especially filling our glasses with water, to Alfredo assisting Trista when she gotten busy. Excellent teamwork especially shout out to all the chefs and line cooks everything was delicious. And Jennifer before leaving made sure if we were satisfied. I told her there's always lots of selection to choose from. My favorite is the Lobster soup, I just love putting a lot of green onion on my soup. Fried California roll was yummy and delicious. So good was the calamari, veggie egg rolls , dim sum, chicken feet, sashimi , and the watermelon was so sweet. Eaten a lot of it, gotten full right away. Again alot of selection. Skip this place! When it first opened and even a few months ago it was good/decent but we went yesterday and just no. I'm sure I got sick eating the food cause that's all I had in the evening. First we spent $228 for 5 people for the food to be mediocre and not good at all. I think the only decent things were the coconut shrimp and rice, not even the Choi mein was good. The sushi was warm which is not okay. I had 2 pieces and I think that's where I messed up. You would think that the dessert would be a bit better, nope! Not good at all. Skip this place. I'll keep it short: Luxe Buffet felt like a low-budget take on Chinese buffet fare. At nearly $40 per person, I wasn't expecting a Vegas level Bacchanal experience, but I did expect more. While the lobster was abundant, each piece was barely larger than a shrimp, and the crab legs were disappointingly small. On the upside, the food stations were kept fresh and well-stocked, and our waitress was excellent, attentive, friendly, and quick with drink refills. Minimal selection. No one was out manning the different stations. The food was all cold except the mashed potatoes. The steak section had old meat that was tough and just sitting. We had to wait for the guy to notice us standing there for him to come out and cut up the cold steak. Very few food options. The bus ppl are quick at clearing away food though.
