I typically don't like rating restaurants poorly, but my GF and I must've had the absolute worst restaurant experience ever during our first time at KOW. We were attended to immediately, which was probably the only thing that was done correctly during our visit. We started off the meal with the Tequepops which tasted dry, almost as if they were purchased frozen and heated up in an oven for way too long. Our entrees consisted the Chicken Parmigiana and the Chicken on the grill. Unfortunately for us, my Chicken Parmigiana was burnt on the edges, while my GF chicken was ice cold and frighteningly pink. The flavors were nonexistent making it quite the difficult meal to swallow. We couldn't help but snicker about just how bad the quality of the food was. Our server also neglected to pay attention to us, which also added to this tragic experience. The prices on the menu are high for food that comes no where near the quality that the restaurant attempts to convey. Overall, I just wouldn't recommend this restaurant whatsoever. I feel bad, but this restaurant just wasn't good. I highly recommend changing the lineup on the chefs in the kitchen. read more

The Rest Of The Food Took About A Year To Get Here. The Intruso Wok Rice Tasted Like My Family Fried Rice. The Broth On The Shrimp Ramen Might Be My Favorite Ever Broth Being Sweet And Salty. My First Time Trying Fish Cakes And I Am Officially On The Hunt For A Place That Sells Fish Cakes. The Best Part However, Is The Tiramisu. Instead Of Just A Tiramisu, They Got A Tiramisu With All The Ingredients In The Tiramisu, On The Side With Ice Cream. They Got The Tiramisu Itself, A Shot Of Espresso, Lady Fingers, And Ice Cream. Most everything we ordered tasted unconventional; some hits and misses but very unique takes on most dishes. Lots of appetizer choices. I didn't try it but the Wok Crunchy Shrimp appetizer was a big hit. Gnocchi appetizer was good though perhaps overpowered by the strong cheeses. KOW is an interesting spot... I've taken friends and family here and the experience changes each time. That's why I give it 3 and most likely won't go back due in large part to the price for amount. I'll start by saying the service is probably the best factor when I've gone each time. Everyone on staff is pure Charm! Next, That the presentation of the plates is really the allure of this whole franchise, BOCA group, in general. Finally, that the food is hit or miss... not consistent in assembly or taste. The first time I went everything was exceptional and the dishes came out quickly. After that first time, things have never even gotten close to the standard of quality and the taste profile has actually sunk in some way. In fact, a friend noted that most elements they offered could be found at Costco and you could make it at home with out paying the hefty price factor. I argued with him, until I went back a third time, and actually totally agreed with him. Though the menu invokes worldly dishes, are the dishes themselves maintaining those authentic tastes? This restaurant is not only beautiful but the food was amazing, the concept of the menu is innovative and brilliant. Although the inside got packed very quickly they have a little seating area outside if you feel more comfortable dining outdoors. All of the staff was wearing masks properly and they were constantly disinfecting tables as soon as they flipped. The service was very attentive and I loved the fact that they are using eco friendly straws! The whole experience was a 10/10 and I definitely need to come back for happy hour, I did not have any drinks during lunch but I saw some tables drinks and the presentation was amazing. Honestly the service was not the best sadly, the waiter never refilled our waters through out the dinner service. Our party ordered ramen and several people complained that it was over salted. I ordered the lomo saltado and the meat was very little about four to six bite size pieces, they included sliced tomato wedges to help fill in the space along with a large portion of white rice since I asked for no fries. We had also ordered a variety of different coffee's which were cold. Overall very disappointed, the service is not like how it used to be when they first opened.. and very pricey as well. read more

Just a few minutes ago, I picked up take out from this restaurant. I parked right in front (3 feet away) of the hostess desk which is located outside. To give some perspective, I asked if they did outside takeout when placing the order. Because of my work, I didn't want to have to leave my car, and risk people to Covid. The person that took my order let me know that they take the takeout order outside that I didn't have to go inside. When I arrived I called multiple times and no reply. Finally the hostess reappeared and picked up the phone, I told her I was there to pick up my order, and that I was the car right in-front of her. Again I am right in-front 3 feet, she argued that they don't bring it to the car while giving major attitude. Repeating that I had to step out of my car to give her the card. Once I finally convinced her to get my order which was ready, and to take 8 steps in my direction with the check out credit card pad. I left with my order, but already I had a bad taste in my mouth, because of the bad service. Then came the food... I ordered Pork Ramen, and the only thing that slightly resembled ramen was that it has ramen like noodles. The broth was flavorless, the noodles were hard, and the seaweed and mushrooms were flavorless. The pork tasted like nothing, except for the seared skim, the only saving grace and the reason this got just one star. This place definitely made a bad first impression. ‼ Update an one hour later !! It was a cool Friday night in Miami so I thought Ramen would hit the spot. I got the short rib and the flavor was great. The short rib was so tender and fell off the bone. The restaurant has inviting decor for being in a unassuming strip mall in west Kendall. This restaurant is so good, and I love the concept. As an appetizer, my family got the tostones de puerco and they were SO GOOD and full of flavor. As a meal, I got the Wok Rice with shrimp and it was pretty good. I wish I could've gotten a couple more shrimps, or maybe have the shrimp be cut into little pieces, but it was good nonetheless.
