Okay let me just say... I genuinely feel so bad for rating this place so low but COME ON a breakfast, sushi, Korean, Asian fusion, I don't know what else type of joint? Yes it was our fault for ordering sushi.. Cause as soon as the rolls came out, they smelt EXTREMELY fishy. I had 2 bites and said I wasn't going to risk it anymore. Not to mention, they were 11-12 bucks a roll! Yuck. Eggs and hash browns.. Well you can't really mess that up though it was really greasy. But eh it was alright. Overall I would give this place a 1...... BUT the server was this cute Asian lady named Ymi? I think.. but she was SO nice! My nostalgia probably tints this review a bit since I've been coming here for over two decades while I was growing up in the area. I've only ever ate lunch when it was owned by the old owner (a while ago) and it was just .. alright... so I'd typically come for breakfast. Even now I'm waiting on my breakfast! I mean, there's nothing fancy on the menu. Nothing that makes me want to come here like "I'm REALLY craving the unique ____ from Kozy Kitchen". But! If I'm looking for a good breakfast with crispy, shredded hashbrowns (what's with the places that only have ranch potatoes or home fries??), a perfect over-easy egg, and friendly, attentive service, I think of Kozy Kitchen. I have nothing nice to say about this place. Had to give a star to be posted. Sure not worth it. Servers are rude and the owner is a dick. Especially to his staff. He degrades them in front of his customers. I go to eat for pleasure, not pleasurable listening to someone in authority degrade someone who makes his money. We came here on a Saturday morning for breakfast because BoBo's was packed. It is clean and aesthetically pleasing, and the service is quick and friendly. I am a bit disappointed in the food, but only because I had my heart set on my favorite spot. My eggs were overcooked, and they use super-thin, cheap bacon. Do not let the outside of this restaurant fool you. it has pictures of their food on their windows. I was hesitant what the inside would look like. it is a very nice, clean restaurant. no flies! They have on the door they are organic. Alot of people were eating there. The parking lot was packed. it is tasty food. the coffee was fresh and delicious. they use the DeCoty brand. it was really good I had to ask what they were using. our server was so friendly. They have all the regular breakfast staples. my husband had the pancake but it was slightly overcooked, the bacon was good. I had the Spanish omelet with hashbrowns. the salsa was fresh and the omelet and hash browns were very good. what we didn't know was and was a surprise was that they serve Korean food for lunch as well as the standard hamburgers etc. our server recommended the bulgogi and spicy pork. we will definitely be going back to try their Korean food. if you are looking for a good little breakfast restaurant, I would recommend to try this restaurant. read more

I came for breakfast based on positive reviews. It is an old converted DQ. The breakfast menu is straightforward-like breakfast should be. Eggs, omelets, pancakes & French toast. Don't let the Asian theme scare you. No Sushi or bolgogi at breakfast. My ham & cheese omelet was perfectly prepared with finely cubed lean ham and plenty of cheese. I opted for wheat toast and it came with generous melted butter. I forgot to ask for my hash browns extra crispy. That's on me. Service was fast, friendly & 'fficient (couldn't resist the tortured alliteration). For me the table track lighting made me a little warm. I need to come back to try the Korean/Asian fare. read more

I was visiting San Angelo and decided to try something that I don't have back home. I was thrown off by the menu (breakfast and sushi on one menu) but I decided to try their breakfast anyway. I ordered the bacon and cheese omelet. It came with hash browns and I chose biscuits. It was very good and came out in less than 5 minutes. They only down fall is they prefer cash payment. 4.5 *This is a review of the breakfast* I think that collectively we tend to think the only place to have a nice sit down breakfast is either IHOP or Dennys. If you have been to either you know why that is a bad BAD decision. Kozy Kitchen has been around for a minute and I personally enjoy coming here. The food is good and I would choose this place everytime over IHOP, Dennys, or BoBos kitchen. They make their own biscuits and the hashbrowns are great. Its quiet, clean, friendly, and as the name implies cozy. They also offer korean and sushi as well as other dinner options, though they are best known for breakfast. SO lets get the rundown on sit down breakfast places around here.... Peppercorn is better than Dunbar Kozy kitchen is better than BoBos Mr Ts or ANYwhere else (up to and including starving) is way WAY BETTER than our IHOP or Denny's. read more

The parking lot of this place is always full so I assumed it was a good local spot. Well, we all know where assuming gets ya. The restaurant was clean and the service decent, but the food was highly underwhelming. Powder-based gravy vice homemade, greasy hasbrowns, and sausage patties so over cooked they were hard/tough was the dining experience at our table. Decent food, very friendly service. My family and I came here for breakfast a few weeks ago and we walked away satisfied. The food and service were slightly better than what I have traditionally received from places like IHOP or Denny's, but the prices were also slightly higher than those aforementioned locations AND the Kozy Kitchen doesn't offer a military discount. Food was good but service sucked. I like the idea of Korean food with breakfast food- interesting combo. We got the new server and she was slightly rude. I ordered omelette but she didn't ask if we wanted toast or biscuits and just bought the whole table toast while some of us prefer biscuits. Asked her a question to make sure I got the right order since I ordered the same thing as my friend but mine had extras and she answered with an attitude like I was rushing her. Anytime a question was asked - she gave attitude. If she acts like this when she's new - I would hate to know how she is when she's a season employee. Since we're in a military town and they offer military discount - it would of been great if she offered us too. I'm pretty positive she knew we were military but didn't offer the discount. read more

Excellent place for breakfast. I had coffee, fried pork chops, hash browns, dry wheat toast and 2 eggs over medium. Every single item was cooked to perfection. The egg whites were cooked through but still had a runny yolk. Pork chops were lean and perfectly cooked. Coffee was smooth with no bitterness. Service was outstanding. Pretty awesome food in a small town of San Angelo TX. I was very impressed with the wholesome service. Owners took over 4 years and this has been by far the best experience in Kozy Kitchen. Had the bulgogi bento and it was on point. Parking was easy. They have short hours so I would just make sure they are open before trying to head down. Kozy Kitchen is voted the best breakfast in San Angelo for 2015, and it's easy to see why. The decor is nice, the waitstaff is friendly, the chef is generous, and the food is great. The omelettes are delicious, the shrimp omelette being a personal favorite, and I love that every egg dish is made from freshly cracked eggs (none of that cartoned egg nonsense). For lunch, I love, Love, LOVE the fried rice. Best in town. And if sushi is your thing, they do that during dinner. I don't even like sushi that much, but I tried the jalapeno roll and it was fantastic! One last note: they do prefer cash. read more

Service wasn't great at all. I'm not sure if I like the idea of the button thing on the end of the table, I felt guilty for pushing it a few times just to get some water, it wasn't even busy though, maybe 3 tables full. I had the spider roll and crunchy roll. The sushi was ok, nothing great. My boyfriend got the chicken fried steak sandwich and that was not good. The "chicken steak" was tenderized a little too much so it made it a small portion. I don't think we will be returning. read more
